We, a group of five friends, recently visited Gopinatham Mystery Trails and stayed for two nights in compact tents. The route we took was via Dharmapuri and Mettur Dam, though the last 10 km of the road was in poor condition. On the way, we stopped at the Mettur Dam Platinum Jubilee Tower, which offers a full, panoramic view of the Mettur Dam from the top. The climate was a bit sultry, but the overall experience was great. The staff were very helpful and attentive, and the food was excellent, with authentic Karnataka flavors. Special thanks to the cook, Praveen, for doing a fantastic job.
The nature walk was enjoyable, and our guide, Shivu, was very informative. While we didn’t opt for the safari (priced at ₹600 per person, with a minimum of six people), we did enjoy a pleasant coracle ride in the morning.
We also visited Hogenakkal, which is worth the trip if you enjoy massages and waterfalls. The coracle ride to the falls cost ₹800, with extra charges if you choose to spend more time. It's important to note that this part of the trip isn’t related to Jungle Lodges.
Overall, it was a nice trip and definitely value for money!

Visited on September 4th to 6th 2021 with Family. Surrounded by hills with lake in the back, it was really much needed relaxation after the pandemic. Food was tasty and the events were organised well. Safari ride and evening treck has long lasting memories. After staying 2 nights and 3 days in this camp, I am more curious about the birds and the wild animals. Anybody who want to experience Digital nirvana this camp is highly recommended. Staff especially naturalist Sandesh and the manager takes care the guests very well.

Amazing stay. Please do not expect luxury here because its not. But the place is so beautiful, right opposite to the MM hills and situated next to the huge lake. The tents were clean and you will get a beautiful night sleep amidst the forest. Food was great, above all the service is excellent. Budget friendly and its a Jungle resort. We came in bikes and the ride from Bengaluru to Gopinatham was just amazing. May be 10 - 15 kms you can even to Hogenekkal falls. Thanks to Gopinatham, I have made myself clear I will visit this place every year for a 2 to 3 days for rejuvination.

It was a overall positive experience, the resort is cute with little tents with the gopinatham reservoir as the backdrop.
We got a twin bed, wish it was a single bed/mattress, but it was comfortable. The washrooms were neat and clean.
The tent canopy could be maintained a bit better, it appeared a bit beaten.
There is only one pedestal fan in the tents, so i believe it would hot during summers !!
The food was highlight, it was a homely affair, dont expect restaurant type food, but its different and tastes good. A special mention for Shiva the guy who manned the buffet counter, very humble and nice guy.
Sandesh, the naturalist is a super enthusiastic guy, he honestly wants you to have a wonderful experience. The package includes a safari in the evening, a trek/walk into the forest and a coracle ride in the reservoir and a documentary too. The walk could not be done because of rains so Sandesh took us on a safari again :)
One bitter experience was, we were having lunch and someone from the staff walked in, the fans were switched off so he could have clear conversation, so what are we fools having lunch there ??? I initially thought it was a powercut. This is hospitality business and customer comes first !!

We just returned from a 2 day trip to a Nature Camp by Jungle Lodges near Hogenkal. It’s situated in Gopinatham where Veerappan was born. And known as Gopinatham Mystery Trails. Beautiful location, amazing views, deep and dense forest and overflowing Cauvery. A serene lake next to your cottage that evokes a sense of peace and tranquility. The air is fresh and windy, filled with the sounds of nature, such as birds chirping and leaves rustling. It's a perfect spot for relaxation, contemplation, or simply enjoying the natural beauty.
Even food was good. Wonderful people to take care of us. I thought it’s a perfect 2 day outing for a group of friends and their families.
On the way we visited Shivanasamudram and MM hills. 5-6 hour drive from Bangalore.

Stayed in this property from 3rd March 2023 through 4th March 2023. From Bangalore it’s around 250 KM’s. There are 2 routes one via Krishnagiri, TN and another via Bangalore-Maddur-Malavalli-Kollegala-MM Hills-Gopinatham. We took the later one. From MM Hills the location is beautiful.
Gopinatham belongs to Karnataka and inside Kaveri Windlife Jone. This place is untouched for more than 33 years as it is the birthplace of notorious forest brigand Veerappan. He was wanted for killing approximately 184 people, about half of whom were police officers and forest officials and was also wanted for poaching more than 2000 elephants. He got killed in 2004(Approx).
Later JLR introduced this camp to expose the unparalleled beauty to the outside world. Fantastic property and you need to visit this place to get your mind and soul to get healed.
Camp manager along with his staff are wonderful people. Food is superb even though it's a simple buffet. They serve non veg for lunch and dinner.
They have sufficient parking space. They have only tent accommodation which are neatly maintained.
Jungle Safari is top class and even the boat ride. All these activities are included in the package.
NOTE: Only BSNL will work in the location!!

This was undoubtedly one-of-a-kind experience amidst nature. The entire stay was very memorable devoid of any digital distractions (was indeed a welcome one). No mobile network worked except for a rare BSNL. Wi-fi available at the office of the camp.
Excellent location, good food, friendly and accommodative staff. Coracle ride and jungle safari made the stay even more exciting. Sighting a leopard in wild during safari was showstopper of entire trip.
I would highly recommend this place.
