One of my favorite hotels in the world. Love the character and charm. The breakfast in the morning as delicious and the atmosphere was cozy. We stayed on the top floor and the views were wonderful. Also, great staff.

My husband and I stayed at the Claremont for a week at the beginning of October. I can't say enough about the beauty of the location - views, grounds and property are stellar. That's about as far as I can go. We stayed in one of the Cole cabins, maybe that was our mistake because when they say light housekeeping...

The hotel wants to be a first class hotel, however, their service does not match their hopes. Why does the person checking you in, look like a slob. I could not tell he worked for the hotel. Cargo shorts and a dirty t-shirt don't make it. They want to charge you an 18% percent "service charge". First of all, I...

You half expect to see Kennedys and Roosevelts walking the property. We stayed just before the Claremont closed for the season and it was quiet and lovely. Room P4 is the one to get! The grounds are beautiful. Great place for couples, families and extended families.

We went up for a get away weekend over the long weekend and fell in love with the location of the Claremont. The hotel has a main building which contains the dining room, a very, very small bar, a couple of sitting rooms (with fireplaces) and some rooms. The property also has a number of one & two bedroom cabins...

There are so many things to really like about this hotel I want to give five stars but could just as easily give three. So four it is. The location is wonderful, the setting and building quintessential Maine. Just perfect. The staff we interacted with were all very helpful and kind, so complaints. Breakfast was just fine, a buffet and...

We stayed in the C1 East cabin for a week of hiking in Acadia National Park. We originally booked the Cole cabin room but had been mistaken that the Cole cabin included a kitchenette (#3 does, #s 1-2 do not). Luckily, the C1 cabin with kitchenette was available to us and the staff was very understanding and accommodating of the...

we were happy to be in a quieter part of Mt. Desert Island. the hotel and grounds look out onto Somes Sound and east toward the sunrise. front desk and waitstaff friendly and helpful. buffet breakfast was wonderful and our one evening meal very good. we didn't play on the croquet courts (3) but did borrow a rowboat for a...

Spent a weekend there recently in one of the cottages. We enjoyed the well-kept grounds, the view, the dock, the small rocky beach, and the stately old hotel overlooking all. The breakfast buffet had a variety of offerings, and waiters take orders for a selection of hot items (eggs, meat, omelets, waffles). all included with the room. I could happily...

We had great expectations of this hotel and in some ways they were met. Very elegant with gorgeous grounds and fabulous views. Lovely deck to sit and soak up the views. But it definitely has issues. The room itself was small and uninteresting. The plumbing is in terrible condition. First morning I went to take a shower...no hot water left....
