Wow! We had hoped our honeymoon would be extra special and having stayed at Chateau de Rancay during the summer months, we had quite high expectations for our return visit in December. We were not disappointed. We travelled the day after our wedding just prior to Christmas, and our visit happened to coincide with my birthday as well. Prior to...

This is a real gem of a find. A truly captivating place with authentic, beautiful decor. The rooms are exquisite and the dining experience is superb. Can not wait to go back. The grounds are beautiful and breakfast on the terrace was a great start to the day.

Stayed (again) at Rancay, including 2 dinners. The rooms are very comfortable, the food and wince were excellent and the level of care and service was outstanding. Its a fine old building, in large grounds, and very relaxing. The whole atmosphere is that of a different, better era before the big international hotel chains brought anonymity to traveling.

I’m not sure anymore why I go on holiday. The justification of new places seems to have been largely obviated by the internet, web cams, google maps. A wish for exotic foods satisfied by a casual stroll down a central city street, stalls and supermarkets. And I work with more different nationalities daily broadening my horizons then I could hope...

Great facilities, Room, Bathroom Wi-Fi etc. Very quiet & peaceful location - convenient to the motorway. Restaurant was great (food, wines and service) Excellent attention to details. Plenty of free parking space, and a great nights sleep. This is a perfect place to stay when on a long drive across europe, and is a good 'experience' too.

We stayed for just the one night but wish we could have stayed longer. Easily located just a few minutes off the A20 and the long entrance leads directly to the lovely looking Chateau and chapel. We received a wonderful welcome which had been proceeded by an email confirming our booking and meal options available, along with directions to the...

We stayed for one night in June, a stopover en route to SW France from SE England. We have travelled the A20 route many times, yet for some reason completely overlooked this beautiful chateau, but we are so pleased we have discovered it now! We had a prompt reply to our email reservation request from the chateau owner Gilbert Lenssen...

My husband and I had a wonderful time here in the picturesque Loire Valley for four days at Christmas. The food was divine and the historic Chateau was exquisitely decorated for the holidays. The splendidly restored main building includes a comfortable library and a Gothic cathedral. The hosts, Gilbert Lenssen and Stefan Bahlmann, became friends. Our daughter and her family...
