My family has owned property on South Shore Drive on Rangeley Lake in Maine for over 100 years. It is rare that we need other accommodations in the summer. Last fall we brought our boat home to make some repairs over the winter. The work was completed and we decided to return the boat to the marina in Oquossoc before summer got underway. We needed a place to stay for one night. We had passed the Saddleback inn every time we drove in or out of Rangeley and decided to give it a try. We were pleased with our decision! The property has been well maintained with fresh paint and all the amenities. It was "white glove" spotless. There is an indoor pool and a community room with views of the lake. Although there had been a nice restaurant there for several years, unfortunately it is now closed. We had a chance to talk with Paula, the manager who was pleasant, helpful and chatty. I would absolutely recommend this very friendly motel

This place is awesome due mostly to Paula the manager ( she is incredible ) she goes above and beyond her managerial duties. And will even be your local Uber if necessary. We have stayed there twice during snowmobile season ( the place is normally loaded with sleds ) The rooms were clean and modern with a shower you could have a party in. They have a saltwater pool and a small hot tub for relaxing.
A game room and a onsite restaurant with bar. Prices are extremely reasonable
Highly recommend this Inn. Has everything you need right there. And you will never find a more hospitable Manager than Paula. Hard to describe how awesome she is !!!!!

Our car club makes an annual journey to Rangeley, to go moose spotting. This year our usual choice of accommodations was unable to host us so we booked rooms hear that the Saddleback Inn and we’re very pleasantly surprised. The entire place was clearly very recently remodeled with everything being bright and fresh in the rooms and spotlessly clean. Check in was a breeze as everything was ready for us. We made good use of their common room where groups such as ours could gather in the eveningsTo socialize. It was close to everything and I’m certain we will be staying here again. Thank you for a very nice weekend.

This hotel is centrally located, has a nice view, is very clean and has good and plentiful parking. We stayed for two nights in a room on the first floor near the office. Don’t stay on the first floor! For some reason, in the parking lot (on the actual asphalt of the lot) there is a grill and fire ring set up and the smoke from the fire was sucked into our room the first night until 11 p.m. or so. We smelled smoke the whole time we were in the room that evening. To be fair, the smell disappeared after the fire was out but it was unpleasant for several hours. My other complaint is that while we did not hear our neighbors in the rooms adjacent to us, the people in the room above us seemed to be stomping around all the time. I understand that to a certain extent some noise is to be expected but both mornings, the stomping began at 4 a.m. It was so loud and frequent that I am sure they were either running laps or doing an aerobic step class. We turned on the television and the air conditioning to help but they couldn’t muffle the noise. I don’t appreciate being woken up at that time while on vacation.

This is a clean Motel with Paula holding down the fort. The rooms are clean and quiet. The restaurant next door The Happy Trout serves great food and drinks. Decor is a little dated and the rooms could use some pictures or prints of the area. Otherwise good stay.

Great deal for the price! My friend and I got two very comfy queen sized beds in a spacious room. The wi-fi was a little slow but worked, the shower was hot, the heater worked well, and the receptionist was nice and accommodating for us to check in at 9pm. The TV could have been been bigger, there was no hairdryer, and I wish the fridge was plugged in before we got there because it took a long time to get cold, but it was a good room. The biggest problem we had was that we were staying on the one night that a massive group of people driving classic cars cross-state I believe for cancer research, but that made it very loud especially in the early morning when they were constantly turning on and revving their loud cars and doing group photos right outside our room. They acted like they were the only people staying there. We felt like we didn't have any privacy when we opened the blinds, especially because the cleaning lady walked past our room and literally looked into our windows many times at 8am when checkout time was 10am, which was awkward and put a lot of pressure on us to leave early.

The Saddleback Inn is a great place to stay for a comfortable and relaxing trip to Rangeley. The rooms are clean and there are trails directly out back. While we did learn that the adjoining restaurant had closed, the staff was happy to provide recommendations on places to dine nearby. They were excellent and we plan to return back!

We so enjoy the parade and fireworks the town on Rangeley puts on. This year was the best ever!!! We did stay at the Saddleback Inn a few years ago and I vowed to never stay there again...however, they have renovated and the constant late night partying is gone. Sad for them, good for us! No restaurant. In fact, I was told the town has lost 8 restaurants due to economy/Covid.
They provided grills already prepared with charcoal and lighter fluid, which we used. The staff is extremely friendly. Above all, the rooms are much cleaner. We had an adjoining room with our kids/grandkids which gave the needed space.
Also there is a pool which our kids enjoyed in the off moments of hiking. (indoor pool)

We got stranded in Rangeley when our truck broke down. Paula not only gave us a discount on the room, but went out of her way to help us locate a repair shop that could fix it the next morning, and then let us hang out in the room past check out time until the truck was ready. We are so thankful for her kindness!

Very nice motel. Direct access to SxS/atv trails. Pool and hot tub were clean snd well kept. Rooms were very clean. Staff was very nice. Only down fall is people can smoke out side the rooms and I didn’t care to smell that and also people smoking pot outside the rooms and didn’t care to smell that either. Those are the only reasons I didn’t rate it a 5
