We stayed at the Spinney's for one night mid of October. The reception was very friendly. Since our room was not ready, we have been given an apartment for the same price. The rooms are adequate, clean and spacious. The location is absolutely superb and outweighs by far the somewhat moderate standard: jump out of the bed and you are...

Spinney's is an unassuming white frame structure right on the beach with a terrific view of maritime Maine. The menu is extensive and features well prepared seafood in generous portions. The service is friendly and efficient. The menu states this isn't a fast food restaurantand preparation takes time but no one waits too long for their meals. There is time...

After a day on the beach we found this restaurant. The location was really nice, the junction of the Kennebunk River and the ocean, and next to an old fort. The food was good, but not a lot. We had the grilled seafood plate, the lobster claws that were in it were like 3 inches long and 2 in each...

This is our second time to Maine. The first time we ended at Spinneys just on a whim, and fell in love. This time it was our first spot. It did not disappoint, mostly because of the location and the lovely staff. It is casual and clean, and can be in budget. We took one of the apartments, but next...

Got steamers. Very small, no salt water dip, very disappointing. Chowder was watery and really lacked flavor. We sat outside because the dining room was full and hot. The one nice thing was the picnic table we sat at in the dunes. So much hype, just didn't cut it.

Stayed in "motel" section early July 2016. The best aspect of this place is the view and proximity to Popham Beach, about 15-20 minute walk along the river to reach. The restaurant is decent too, but the "cottages" are in serious need of updating. Owners very nice; felt it was overpriced for the accommodations.

A wonderful B&B type hotel with a great restaurant overlooking arguably one of the most beautiful beaches in Maine. The food was good, the room nice with a shared bath on our floor of 3 guest rooms. The location is nothing short of breathtaking.

We stayed here back at the beginning of July. Our view was amazing but it was the only redeeming quality. The room was like a grandmothers bedroom. Floral wAllpaper, thin lacy curtains, cobwebs, drawers that didn't open, and bath towels that you could literally see through. Nothing has been touched here since the 60s. Bed was super uncomfortable. But it...

I stayed in the main house, not the cottages. Pulled in mid-day Saturday at the end of July with no reservation. Luckily they had a cancellation and were more than happy to accommodate. When I say happy I mean it - the owner checked us in and what a great guy he is! Funny, helpful and honest. He knew we...

Our family has stayed here for years and we keep going back. The location is perfect- so close to the water - and it is worth every penny of it to stay here. It is fairly rustic - a visit to old Maine. The owners are great and service is fine. There are three apts. downstairs (have stayed in all...
