Beautiful campground, and very quiet! If you have a trailer, the sites across from the “shared day use” area (47-52) have the best views. Staff was very friendly. It seemed that many of the campers knew one another and camp here every year. The camp store is well-stocked and even sells local craft beer. Close to Smalls Falls, Coos Canyon, and Height of Land (which was stunning). Easy lake access, especially from the day use area. Highly recommend!
Tucked along Route 16, a little northwest of Rangely, lies a jewel of a campground. It is the unique product of a coalition of individuals dedicated to preserving both access to Maine’s wilderness areas while providing a well maintained campground on the north shore of Cupsuptic Lake. The sites are well spaced out with various levels of services. The restrooms, showers etc are new and well maintained. My friends and I enjoyed a late season visit and look forward to returning!
NOT a family friendly campground (or dogs). The policy to have dogs on a leash was clear. However, when the owner sought us out as our dog was leashed to a awning pole with 5 adults within reach of him and said we did not have him in control was unreal. (And completely untrue, our dog didn't even bark when he approached.) Apparently we had to hand hold his leash all day? But the kicker was when our group of three families was sitting around the campfire laughing and telling stories with our kids (8-14 years old) and he came at 9:40pm saying we were too loud, that everyone around was asleep and insinuating that we were drinking (we weren't) and had to break it up since it was CLOSE to quiet time (***20 minutes away at 10pm). If you want your quiet time at 9/9:30 then print that, but don't get upset when we are following the rules. Neighboring campers commented our how good our kids behaved. It's too bad since it was a nice location with a beach. But if we visit this area again you can guarantee we will be finding a different campground.…
I bet i'm "Too young" to write a review, and you might recognize me as the "Little Red Head". But i've been going here about every summer of my life. So I know this place very well. This place is just pure AMAZING! The lake, trails, pavilion, even the secret doc way at the end of Loon Lane. Ever since 2018, I'd bring a friend to camp with me. Yes, it is very easy to make friends there. Last year, I probably met 15 other kids. Also, just a small note. I've seen a few reviews from last summer. People said staff follows you around, and that the staff is rude. I disagree with that. I don't think i've ever been followed by any staff members, and I don't think i've seen anybody else being followed by staff. The staff has hardly been rude. I think this is just a great place to go on a vacation!…
I took my daughter and 4 yo granddaughter camping here in August with no prior knowledge or recommendations. We were able to get a ready-made tent site (tent included) on short notice in a great location near the water! Staff were friendly, the bathrooms modern and very clean, the property super walkable and fellow campers friendly. You can rent kayaks and paddle boards which we didn't have time to but maybe next time! My little granddaughter had fun watching fish from the dock, swimming, and patting the wild ducks and roasting marshmallows over our campfire. The tent slept 3 and included a woodstove, mini fridge, pots/pan, utensils, gas burner hot plate, and a screen room all on a platform. It was a great first camping experience for my granddaughter and a fun girls weekend for all of us. We would definitely come back again!…
Location is fantastic, right on Lake! Tent sites are not all that private but a lot of campgrounds I’ve been to are like this. Bath house is top notch( free showers, plenty of hot water). Most sites I saw are back in sites, so if you are using anything but a tent things can get tight. We were tenting so not a big deal. The lake itself is gorgeous and has easy access if you have boat to much bigger lake. Fishing is good for yellow perch, brook trout and an occasional land locked salmon but you can’t fish from shore as it’s to shallow. Overall, I would recommend this campground based on location and staff! General store was fantastic with fantastic staff and reasonable prices. Thanks for a great time!
After much research, I chose this campground due to it’s excellent accessibility for my 7 yr old that uses a manual wheelchair. He is an active boy who fishes, swims, tubes and kayaks so it needed to have a boat slip for our pontoon and easy accessibility to the water. This campground was PERFECT! Great level, well packed trails and campsites as well as a boat slip that was easy to access and maneuver on. The facilities were GREAT with accessible shower/bathroom combos and a beautiful ramped pavilion. Cupsuptic/Mooselook lake is gorgeous, clear and clean. We tent camped for 5 awesome days and booked again for next year! Everyone we met was super nice and helpful. This was a great first camping experience for our two youngest children!
I went there few weeks ago with my family. The place has a great beach and great installations (hot showers, laundry). For campgrounds, you can select among those fully equipped with electricity and water or without. They also have some tents that are fully furnished, so you would only need to bring your food. We chose without as water and electrical outlets were nearby. There is a store where you can buy alcohol, sodas and snacks as well as any camping thing you might have forgotten. They also sell firewood for $5. We had a great weekend and we are planning to come back.
Our first time at the campground. It was great. Clean facilities, great beach, store, laundry, a little something for everyone. Like any campground they do have rules you have to follow, but nothing outrageous. Fresh baked goods for sale, well stocked cooler and free use of DVD's, many to choose from.
We stayed here a week while my husband is hiking the Appalachian Trail. It is beautiful, right on the lake. We have stayed in a lot of different campgrounds from Georgia to Maine and this has been one of our favorites. The showers, laundry areas are very clean. People couldn’t of been nicer or more helpful. Great areas to walk our dogs campsites are large cell service with Verizon is good. Only WiFi is at the pavilion but worked out fine. Highly recommend this campground.
