My husband and I stayed in a second floor room, facing the water. I'm not much for chatting with strangers, so we ignored all the folks sitting out on the lawn gabbing, and eating breakfast (gabbing), but if that's your thing, you'll enjoy the scene. The hotel (motel??) is literally a 40 second walk to Ogunquit's main drag, where there are plenty of places to eat/shop. The grounds are meticulously kept and our room was perfectly serviceable and extremely clean. The staff were all friendly and welcoming. My gripes are minor: 1. the air conditioner in our room was loud to the point of being ridiculous and the reason we needed the AC was because they were pumping heat throughout the property, which would have been welcome in March but not so much in May. 2. if you are in any way not mobile or able to do stairs, this is not your place (unless there's a hidden elevator, but I can not swear to that). There are two sets of weirdly laid out, surprisingly steep sets of stairs that led to the 2nd floor rooms in the main building. 3. if there'd been a bar or restaurant on prem, I would never have left to eat (or drink!) anywhere else. It may not be logistically possible, but definitely consider it, Terrace by the Sea! It was my first time in Ogunquit, and I'd happily stay at the Terrace again.

My wife and I have stayed here in the past and love it. We were hoping to go this weekend and have Friday and Saturday booked. Unfortunately my wife just tested positive for covid. Called the front desk and explained the situation and the just said its 2 week cancelation policy- so no expectation for covid. Guess we will have to see how she feels come Friday and make our decision then or lose hundreds....

I stayed here in December of 2021. I went to clear my head for a few days and needed some solitude. The staff and manager (two of whom called themselves T&T), were incredibly kind, accommodating, and energetic. They literally went out of their way to make my solo trip an excellent experience. This was probably one of the most accommodating hotels I have ever stayed in (and I travel quite a bit). Not only would I recommend this inn, but I would gladly stay again. Everything was perfect about staying here. Also, the location is excellent. You won’t find a better hotel in the area. It’s close to the beach, the Marginal Way, and right next to Main Street in Ogunquit.

Because of a combination of factors, I had not traveled in over 3 years. I was in desperate need of a relaxing vacation and Terrace By The Sea was the perfect location. When I walked in our room and saw the ocean view I could instantly feel my tension easing. The room itself was very clean and well maintained. A couple of spots where the paint had peeled but otherwise very nice. A nice area outside our room where we could sit and enjoy the views. It wasn't exactly a balcony because it wasn't private but more of a deck shared by all the rooms but we were the only ones taking advantage while we were there. There was a nice size refrigerator in the room with a working freezer which is something I find to be hit or miss with hotel refrigerators. I was a little concerned about water pressure from the looks of the showerhead but I didn't need to be, it actually was better than my water pressure at home. The staff was amazing. Check in was a breeze. There is a wonderful porch overlooking the water set up for breakfast but we opted to eat outside as the tables on the porch were a little close for our comfort but mostly because it was a gorgeous day and we wanted to spend the time outside anyway. A staff member was drying off lounge chairs and immediately set us up with a table and two dry chairs. He also gave us lots of helpful information about things to do in Ogunquit. While I'm normally a fan of sleeping in on vacation, set your alarms early and walk the block to the beach and watch the sunrise. You won't be disappointed. This was my first trip to Maine but hope to return for a longer visit. If I return to Ogunquit, I will definitely be staying here again. One bit of advice, I normally travel with someone with mobility issues (I wasn't on this trip) and some of the rooms are only accessible by stairs. If mobility is a concern, make sure to let the staff know when making your reservation.

We stayed one night, wished we had made reservations for two nights. Great location, beautifully manicured lawn with lots of flowers, overlooking the beach and ocean. Pleasant staff, great room that was spotlessly clean! Would have given five stars, except I think the breakfast could have been more substantial to include a buffet of eggs, bacon, sausage, etc, However, I wouldn't hesitate staying here again!

The Terrace looks very nice from Wharf Rd, but I have never stayed here until last week and I have been coming to Ogunquit for 3 decades. The prices for all ocean views were more than I wished to pay so I chose the one story motel section behind the main house. No view, just parking lot. I was so pleasantly pleased and surprised. We had access to all the lovely perks: swimming pool, lawn, chairs, ocean views, breakfast, tea and coffee inside main house, even the very clean and well appointed bathroom/shower attached outside for those coming back up from the water. All of the staff were professional, friendly and welcoming. We were able to park early and were called when the room was ready. Our room was clean and spacious, even if a bit worn (broken tile in bathroom, front door quick to close on you, closet door did not quite close). No matter at all with all the other excellent parts. I was more than happy with the continental breakfast. it had a wonderful selection of cold foods- yogurt, grains, fresh melons and fruit, yes and little muffins. I will definitely stay here again.

Nice across the board - good location, clean, comfortable room, pleasant check-in staff. The property is well situated. Pretty views. While I doubt I will return when I go back to the area, I would consider it. Ogunquit itself is absolutely lovely. I’d love to spend a couple weeks there.

Hotel is clean, location is stellar, but room was a $259 per night motel. Size of room was nice, having fridge was also nice, weird closet setup and super dated furniture. Nothing on walls, no charm just plain walls, dowdy heavy curtains and a very sterile room, that had an overpowering smell of cleaning products. But the location absolutely makes up for what the room is lacking. I realize we selected a lower end room option due to budget, but there are simple things they can do to make it feel less like a super basic motel. More positives, nice front lawn seating with amazing views and beautiful porch for breakfast and really all day seating. But even that setup is very dated and furniture could use a major overhaul. Front staff woman was super friendly and quick check in, parking was easy as everyone as assigned spot and it’s right near your room. If staying here, I’d recommend NOT getting the budget option & either picking a diff spot all together or at least a diff room . We happen to be in room 120. Bur location and views are fantastic.

The location is perfect with beautiful views of the ocean. In addition, your in short walking distance to Ogunquit Beach, Marginal Way and the center of town. The property is beautifully landscaped and the our room was very spacious and comfortable. A very nice continental breakfast every morning served by very friendly and accommodating hotel staff. We were so impressed with this property that we requested booking for next year. You will not be disappointed.
