My husband & I have been coming here for many, many years. We find the location quite good & management was always friendly & helpful. We decided our most recent trip would be our last, due to the new ownership. We requested a “ Riverview” room on the back level, but were placed in a front room a couple doors away from the office. These rooms are much older and dated. Beds, not very comfortable. The microwave & small fridge are “inconveniently “ placed on the small outside balcony on the back of the motel. We specifically asked for a downstairs room to avoid this, as well as the traffic noise outside the upstairs rooms. (The river-view rooms were remodeled several years ago after there was a big flood in town). Those rooms are newer, better beds and have large walk-in showers which are better than the old, slippery tubs like what we had on this trip. So, not only was the tub terribly slippery, with no grab bar, the old toilet had a crack in it and the vent fan was basically useless. There is a sign on the bureau about all the things not allowed, smoking, marijuana, etc. Well, the first night was like being at“Woodstock” with the music & aroma from the next room! Oh well! We left in the morning and decided to make the best of it for our long weekend. Coming back to our room late in the afternoon, we found that there was no housekeeping, no fresh towels. When my husband went to ask about it, the office was closed, (for lunch?), and the person there, ( maintenance?), didn’t understand. When the manager returned, my husband went to ask again… he brought us fresh towels and TP as per our request. Apparently, they do not enter rooms to clean without permission? I thought leaving the door knob sign was enough permission, but I guess not. We did our own housekeeping for our stay, no biggie, just like home! Long story, I know, but we were so disappointed with our stay and our room and the new policies, that we actually spent some of our stay looking for other options for our next visit. I guess not all change is for the best, We sure miss the previous management. No thank you, Bombay Corp. we’ll go elsewhere.…
We needed a long weekend away after a difficult start to 2022. We are so glad we chose to go to Ogunquit, and so glad we chose Towne Lyne. The staff went above and beyond in their hospitality!!! Many thanks for all that they did to make us feel at home. The room was very clean and well furnished. The location is great- walking distance to town, and anything you would need (restaurants, gas, groceries) is just nearby. We had one of the rooms with a covered porch in back. What a great way to relax and relieve stress- sitting on that screened porch, listening to birds and the sound of the river flowing behind. It's like being in a cabin in the woods. Visitor tip: don't want to sit in a restaurant? Get your food to go. We got seafood to-go from the crab shack (just a minute or two away), and enjoyed it while sitting on the screened porch. The room had everything that we needed: a clean and spacious bathroom, fridge/microwave, a comfortable bed, as well as comfortable chairs. The pictures and other small decorations for the room were well chosen. We left the Towne Lyne refreshed and recharged, and looking forward to the time that we can return!!!…
This quaint motel was great ! Spotless housekeeping !!!! AK was so helpful and really interested in us having a good experience. This slice of Americana motel experience was nicely located walkable to Ongunquit and drivable to a “must do “ Perkins Cove and ocean walk path called Marginal Way
We come here every year and just love the old school vibe. Great location and the room is so nice and clean. It backs up to a stream and there are fire pits to use on chilly fall nights. You won't be disappointed!
Great time there. Hotel is very clean and comfortable, staff accommodating, lovely outside area to enjoy. It is not new but has been taken care of and is updated. Ogunquit is a lovely town. Great time
Our room was gross ! Toilet overflowed first flush. Room smelled like it has been closed up since 1974. My arm stuck to the chair. They gave us the wrong room key , thankfully we forgot something in the room and went back before heading to town , on foot. Office closes early and we would have been locked out of our room. Mold all over the shower curtain, shampoo and conditioner were almost empty which means they were from the previous guest. Slept on top of comforter using our beach towels as a blanket because we didn't dare pull back that comforter. Miserable experience. Stay somewhere else !!!!
This was the perfect spot for us. It was quiet and close to town. It’s a 1/2 mile walk to Footbridge beach. There is a cute sitting area and picnic spot out back that has a grill and a fire pit for guests to use. It was such a nice touch! The staff was friendly and accommodating. We really couldn’t have picked a better place!
The room was clean, comfortable and conveniently located to everything. The trolley stop is close by to take you to downtown, Perkins Cove or even Kennebunk. Foot Bridge beach is less than a 10 minute walk. The Managment and staff are wonderful and very accommodating. They have a beautiful sitting area adjacent to a river. Truly a great setting.
The room was clean, the price was fair, the Motel is set back from Rte 1 and grounds are very pretty.....location very convenient to Kennebunkport and Ogunquit. AK was polite .professional, helpful and seemed to take pride in his position. Thank you AK ...
