We needed a long weekend away after a difficult start to 2022. We are so glad we chose to go to Ogunquit, and so glad we chose Towne Lyne.

The staff went above and beyond in their hospitality!!! Many thanks for all that they did to make us feel at home.

The room was very clean and well furnished. The location is great- walking distance to town, and anything you would need (restaurants, gas, groceries) is just nearby. We had one of the rooms with a covered porch in back. What a great way to relax and relieve stress- sitting on that screened porch, listening to birds and the sound of the river flowing behind. It's like being in a cabin in the woods.

Visitor tip: don't want to sit in a restaurant? Get your food to go. We got seafood to-go from the crab shack (just a minute or two away), and enjoyed it while sitting on the screened porch.

The room had everything that we needed: a clean and spacious bathroom, fridge/microwave, a comfortable bed, as well as comfortable chairs. The pictures and other small decorations for the room were well chosen.

We left the Towne Lyne refreshed and recharged, and looking forward to the time that we can return!!!

The room was clean, comfortable and conveniently located to everything. The trolley stop is close by to take you to downtown, Perkins Cove or even Kennebunk. Foot Bridge beach is less than a 10 minute walk. The Managment and staff are wonderful and very accommodating. They have a beautiful sitting area adjacent to a river. Truly a great setting.

We come here every year and just love the old school vibe. Great location and the room is so nice and clean. It backs up to a stream and there are fire pits to use on chilly fall nights. You won't be disappointed!

The room had to much unneeded furniture, to the point there was no room for your luggage. It had a very large dresser, end table and two glider chairs. There was three of us traveling and we were cramped. You could not park in front of your room and you had to pay an extra $20 for house keeping.

My husband & I have been coming here for many, many years. We find the location quite good & management was always friendly & helpful. We decided our most recent trip would be our last, due to the new ownership.
We requested a “ Riverview” room on the back level, but were placed in a front room a couple doors away from the office. These rooms are much older and dated. Beds, not very comfortable. The microwave & small fridge are “inconveniently “ placed on the small outside balcony on the back of the motel. We specifically asked for a downstairs room to avoid this, as well as the traffic noise outside the upstairs rooms. (The river-view rooms were remodeled several years ago after there was a big flood in town). Those rooms are newer, better beds and have large walk-in showers which are better than the old, slippery tubs like what we had on this trip. So, not only was the tub terribly slippery, with no grab bar, the old toilet had a crack in it and the vent fan was basically useless.
There is a sign on the bureau about all the things not allowed, smoking, marijuana, etc. Well, the first night was like being at“Woodstock” with the music & aroma from the next room! Oh well!
We left in the morning and decided to make the best of it for our long weekend. Coming back to our room late in the afternoon, we found that there was no housekeeping, no fresh towels. When my husband went to ask about it, the office was closed, (for lunch?), and the person there, ( maintenance?), didn’t understand. When the manager returned, my husband went to ask again… he brought us fresh towels and TP as per our request. Apparently, they do not enter rooms to clean without permission?
I thought leaving the door knob sign was enough permission, but I guess not. We did our own housekeeping for our stay, no biggie, just like home!
Long story, I know, but we were so disappointed with our stay and our room and the new policies, that we actually spent some of our stay looking for other options for our next visit. I guess not all change is for the best, We sure miss the previous management.
No thank you, Bombay Corp. we’ll go elsewhere.

This is an old style motel. Rooms are clean but dated. Beds OK but not great. A bit squeaky. I would give this a much better hotel if 1). they did not use scented laundry products. Scent was overpowering in room and so many of us can't handle sleeping with scented laundry products. Good hotels do not use these products. Many of us are chemically sensitive or have asthma etc. When I asked about it, the person at the front desk was not truthful about it. And 2). there was no credit care fee and general hotel fee/mgmt was up front about this. I asked if they could match online pricing when I booked and they did not tell me about these added fees. They added 5.00 credit card fee and 10.00 hotel fee on top of pricing. They were not being honest.

The staff at Town Lyne changed my reservation during my stay without even attempting to notify me. They deliberately put other guests in my room that still had my belongings in it and refused to do anything to properly rectify the situation. I advise against staying here unless you’re not bothered by the staff canceling your active reservation with zero notice and refusing to even issue you a refund, let alone an apology.

Stayed at "Town Lyne" recently. Found room to be pretty clean. The landscaping outside was no where near what it used to be with a previous owner. When making reservation, I was told the place was full and I got the last room. Not sure why I was told this, but checked in. Was not full or even close. .

The fee for room was $189.00 Then there was tax. Before done the charge on credit card was $222.15. Seemed a little high. When I finally got receipt, I saw why. They charged a payment convenience fee of $6.14. Seemed a little high.

Was also charged a $10.00 cleaning fee. I checked with other hotels in the area and they are NOT charging a cleaning fee.

So bottom line, the hotel charged a bogus fee, @ $10.00. I will not return to this place , just on principle. The room cost was reasonable but the extra fee
was nothing more than a money grab.

Three weeks ago I had an appointment to be out of town for the weekend. My wife took the opportunity to book a night at the Towne Lyne with a girlfriend for a fun overnight. We have frequented this motel, under different ownerships, over the the last 50 years and always were comfortable and satisfied.
As it turned out, I ended up in the hospital, obviously couldn't go on my prearranged trip and my wife had to be with me. She called the Towne Lyne to ask to reschedule her stay, not for a refund. Being that August is their high season there should have been no problem filling our vacancy on a Sunday night.
The clerk gave a define no to her request. She asked to speak with the owner and was told that he wasn't on the property and that she should call back. She called back and got the same answer. Then the clerk started ghosting her calls.
This tactic is not only a poor business practice but also very childish. Having been a business owner for many years I have learned that the best type of business is a satisfied return customer. This guy obviously hasn't learned that. His referral to even come to the phone is VERY disappointing and has earned this and other poor reviews.
Too bad as we used to enjoy this place

Our room was gross ! Toilet overflowed first flush. Room smelled like it has been closed up since 1974. My arm stuck to the chair. They gave us the wrong room key , thankfully we forgot something in the room and went back before heading to town , on foot. Office closes early and we would have been locked out of our room. Mold all over the shower curtain, shampoo and conditioner were almost empty which means they were from the previous guest. Slept on top of comforter using our beach towels as a blanket because we didn't dare pull back that comforter. Miserable experience. Stay somewhere else !!!!
