We drove all through northeaster Canada for three weeks and ended our trip at Acadia National Park. But Bar Harour, although nice, is a zoo. Where to stay where there are no croweds? Harbourside Inn! It's a little bit of a drive, out in the country so-to-speak but Northeastern Harbour holds its own re restaurants, lunch and....not so many people!...

My mom stays at the Harbourside every summer and she recommended it to me. We stayed for a few days before our wedding in August. The Inn is beautiful, peaceful, and comfortable. It really is from another time, but with modern conveniences. The atmosphere is really special -- quiet and refined without being stuffy -- and even the way the...

Booked through web site and was sent a late email cancelling because "person I talked to" had made an error.... Like the talking web site? Was stuck by utter lack of professionalism and verbal attempt (later) to book me to another, $100-more-expensive room

I love this place! The house is in this cute little town right by the water, a short drive from the Park Loop Road which takes you deep into Acadia. The house is really calm and beautiful and the breakfast muffins are great. The only criticism I would have is the really slow wifi in the house - and unfortunately...

We have come to this area to hike, swim, bike and eat lobster on 4 different occasions. Each time we have chosen an upscale B & B and have enjoyed them all. This time we decided to stay a few days longer and needed to find a place when we stumbled upon this place. We fell absolutely in love with...

The Inn is a fantastic place to stay on Mt. Desert Island provided you go in with the proper expectations. It is a 10-15 minute car ride to Acadia Park, and a 20 minute ride to downtown Bar Harbor. However, it is only a 5 minute walk into the little village of Northeast Harbor, where you will find a small...

We made a last minute trip to Mount Desert. We didn't want to stay in busy Bar Harbor, the inns in Southeast Harbor all has a 2 night minimum. We were very happy to find the Harbourview Inn. Although it was not near the event we were there for, we were extremely satisfied with our choice. The inn in located...

The Harbourside Inn is contained within a magnificent building in the incredible Acadia National Park. The hosts are welcoming and friendly, and even offer refreshments upon arrival. The rooms are of a decent size: we shared a double room between three, and had plenty of space. The breakfast consisted of delicious freshly baked muffins, fresh fruit and a selection of...

The Harbourside Inn is the perfect place to stay on MDI, particularly if you want to be away from the hustle and bustle of Bar Harbor. The inn is set up more like a house than a commercial lodging. I stayed in a spacious room on the ground floor, which had its own entrance off a little back porch. Other...

I love this place! A beautiful, comfortable house situated within walking distance to Main Street. Our room, consisting of a bedroom with a fireplace, a four season room with numerous windows that let in light, and a bathroom. Great hospitality and a wonderful black cat that likes to be loved up. My only complaint was the need for a softer...
