Staying the entire week and enjoying the resort. Staff extremely friendly and helpful. We had a 1 bedroom lock off which included three queen beds, full kitchen and two bathrooms. Room very clean and spacious. The only constructive comments would be the parking is not adequate if they have an event. Limited parking by the resort and overflow guest parking has quest walking up to many stairs if elderly or medically unable to do stairs. Would like to recognize Keith at front desk for all his assistance and owner services for following up with us. Nice outdoor pool and 2 hot tubs and fire pit. No indoor pool. There is a possibility to see bear or moose but not guaranteed. Would love to have had a balcony as the views are amazing. Some units have a balcony. Would stay again. Thanks to all the staff.

Great location for accessing the slopes - couldn't ask for better. Also nice ski-store drop service. Pool awesome under the stars at night time, well managed to enable distancing. Room had some crumbs on the floor both in the bedroom and bathroom - I really wish hotels would get this right. Standard rooms have adjoining doors, unfortunately no sound proofing, so we could hear everything next door. Whilst they were not being excessively loud, drinking and playing games until 11:30pm meant our kids could not get to sleep = unhappy parents. Security did come up and politely ask them to quieten down. Hotel moved our room the next day. Same type of standard room with adjoining doors, but much quieter neighbors made for a better night! Hotel dated and could do with rooms being updated, but for convenience to the slopes, you can't argue.

The staff is friendly and helpful, the views are awesome, and the ability to ski-in/ski-out is incredible. On the downside, I feel like I was robbed. I paid over $400 per night for a dirty, dilapidated hotel room without a mini fridge and without housekeeping. (The lack of maid service was likely due to Covid, but that should be reflected in a lower price.) There was a former guest's receipt and a candy wrapper on our rug. The wallpaper was peeling off the walls. The room felt scummy and was extremely outdated. Because of Covid, we had to wait in a long line for breakfast (understandable) and eat in our rooms. Again, I feel like this should have been reflected in a lower price. $200 per night would be more appropriate.

First of all, let me say that, without exception, each person I interacted with at the hotel was lovely. They were professional, welcoming, and genuinely nice. That saved the day. The common areas are also fine. They are a bit dated but fine for a ski hotel. The rooms, however, are in rough shape. It is not an exaggeration to say they were likely last renovated in 1982. The wallpaper is peeling off the walls, there is flaking paint on the ceilings, and even the little plastic signs to reuse the towels look like they came from a flea market. Also, our room was filthy. Dirty toilet, food in sink, butter smears in fridge, bacon pieces on the stove, bottle caps on the floor. The wifi is painfully slow, and we were told by reservations that the pool was closed. As a result we didn't pack swimsuits. It was open. Oh, and they charge a "resort fee" on top of the room rate. However, again, the people were all lovely and helpful. They apparently have problems with with homeowners association in getting renovations done. That doesn't explain all, but it helps. Also, they did provide breakfast which was a pleasant surprise. It was also very helpful ad there is nowhere to eat. Nowhere. They have one restaurant which is not open everyday and has a limited menu. They also are 20 minutes from the nearest market but don't tell you this. Quite hard to feed your family here. And, nobody has a suggestion for where to go or what is open. We found something but it wasn't easy. Also, location is great. True ski on and off. So, go for the location and the people. If you expect weak dining and an upstate NY State through way type motel room, it works for skiing.

We loved the remoteness of this amazing ski in/ski out hotel at the Sunday River Resort in Maine. With just two of us, we opted for the queen Murphy bed studio w/patio. It includes breakfast daily. The room (number 237) was very clean which we appreciate! It does overlook the pool and ski trail. Which can be a pro/con. It was a little loud at times from pool and we had to keep shades down for privacy from ski trail. Otherwise it was nice to look out over them! We even saw the groomers go by. If you aren’t an advanced skier or boarder, the trails outside hotel in Jordan Bowl may be difficult. We found ourselves using the free shuttle after each day to get back to hotel versus skiing back over since the Jordan Bowl is far from the main lodges and easier trails. The free shuttle service is very nice and we used it for dinner one night. The Jordan Hotel also offers a complimentary ski check and three places to eat. There is a heated outdoor pool and jacuzzi along with a spa! Obviously with COVID regulations our trip was slightly restricted but we made the most of it and would definitely come back again. Only reason for 4 stars is the hotel is slightly dated but it fits into the Maine/lodge atmosphere so doesn’t seem to bad once you settle in!

Overall, we were happy with our stay because the hotel was close to great skiing and had a simple, rustic feel. It's fun ending the day on Lollapalooza, skiing right to the hotel, and winding down in the outdoor hot tub. But, do be aware of lift and trail closures, especially of the Jordan lifts on windy days, as closures could force you to use shuttles. The shuttle is very time consuming since Jordan is far away from other parts of Sunday River. While its remoteness makes the hotel feel like a relaxing getaway, it can also be inconvenient when trying to access other resort amenities. We traveled off-site for meals except for breakfast. The morning breakfast was really good with plenty of variety and worth the price. But the other on-site restaurant, Sliders, was standard fare.

We stayed at the Jordan Hotel this past weekend. On our trip to Sunday River last year, we stayed at the Grand Summit, so I feel that I can offer a solid comparison. I wouldn't say that either hotel is necessarily "grand" in terms of up-to-date, top-of-the-line furnishings or appliances, and the hallways could definitely use new carpeting (since it was buckling)...but it was absolutely FINE. In fact, I was impressed by how well the kitchen was outfitted with cooking tools in our studio unit (not that they were fancy, but they were actually available, unlike many condos/apartments where we've rented in the past). I'm a little Covid anxious, but the resort was doing a great job with masks and cleaning. I loved how I was able to prepare all of our meals, and not have to visit any restaurants. A lovely breakfast was provided with our stay. We took it "to go" and ate in our room. We stayed on the third floor and had a beautiful view of the mountains, so we were in heaven. Both the Jordan and the Grand Summit are ski-in/ski out, have fine restaurants, an impressive lobby and pools/spas, etc. The staff at the Jordan was super friendly and helpful, as well. What we found to be the most advantageous feature of the Jordan was its early (exclusive feeling) access to the wonderful Jordan Bowl. It takes day-trippers approximately 1/2 - 1 hour to make their way over. By then, we had gotten in 4 runs (all to ourselves) and were ready to traverse across the multitude of peaks at SR. We were so happy with our stay that we booked another weekend at the Jordan for next month and even joined the Boyne Rewards "game." If you're looking for a truly luxurious "Grand" hotel, I don't think you're going to find it at Sunday River, but if you're looking for a great place to stay and SKI, then I recommend the Jordan!

Honestly, wanted to like it. I thought with a fall visit at a reduced rate for a wedding I was getting a deal but a reduced rate apparently meant a dirty room and disconnect between the staff. From the website, the pictures of both the hotel and rooms give the impression of a clean and well-kept establishment. Checking in was a different story, while the staff was pleasant during interactions, upkeep is minimal. Scuff marks all over the walls, chipped paint up and down the corners, dirt, and debris in all common areas as well as our room on check-in. The moment we got into the room we went out onto the balcony to see our view and immediately were met with an empty Bud Light Blackcherry Seltzer can. There were pizza crumbs on the couch and sunflower seeds on the carpet. Not a great start. This caused us to check the bed linens for cleanliness and while the linens seemed fine, a bit yellow tinted from use, the linen-covered bed platform the mattress sits on was torn and broken. I've managed hotels before and know that sometimes these things happen and you don't have the materials to fix, for 186 rooms, I get it. But it's offseason and this is when you tackle preventative maintenance issues and this does not seem to be a priority for them. We brought up the seltzer can and pizza crumbs to the front desk and asked for some sanitation wipes, the man at the desk cracked a joke about behaving at dinner and handed a packet of wipes to us without a sorry or offer of resolution. So we went back to our room to dispose of the can and wipe down countertops and surfaces (not something you want to do yourself for 180 dollars a night). The next morning I brought the issues up the front desk who were far more apologetic and offered a change of room, but since we were already unpacked and everything, I declined but asked that housekeeping go and clean the problem areas. When we got back to the room later, the bed was made, trash taken out and dishes put away but the crumbs on the couch were still there both on top and under the cushions, and the sunflower seeds were still on the floor. At this point we have a wedding to get to that was held onsite. With all of this COVID stuff taking place the staff was not very concerned with people wearing their masks while walking around. I thought they would be a bit more strict on the social distancing and mask-wearing considering the problems that arose with people getting COVID from a wedding in Millinocket a couple of months prior. People were allowed to dance tight together without masks, walk around freely without masks. If I were a guest just staying in the hotel separate from the wedding I would have been concerned and I was participating in the wedding. Upon getting my bill for the stay, I was charged $420 total, included was the services fee, which I find comical considering the lack of. I have extensive years in hospitality and the first thing I would have done would be to deduct the service charges from the bill. I wasn't asking for a comped night or free drinks or anything that maybe others would use a dirty room as an opportunity to milk from the staff. I was asking for a clean room which I didn't receive. I would be mad as a hotelier to get a bad review without the opportunity to resolve the issue. We went to the desk twice and the issues were not resolved. During these times it is paramount that your establishment is clean, Rule #1 in fact. I thought with an off-season rate at a highly rated (on other review sites) resort was a deal.. but I'm afraid I paid too much for what I received.
