We found this hotel to be a good value, but it’s not a fancy place. We stayed during senior week, so not a lot of kids around to make noise. The rooms was clean and quiet. Everything worked fine, though the heat could have been quieter (it didn’t keep us up). The bathroom was a bit small but functional. The keurig coffee machine was a nice touch. The ski lockers were useful, as was the shuttle to the mountain, which ran every half hour. Note that there is no restaurant in the place, so bring your own snacks.
Stayed two nights at the Snow Cap Inn, rooms are clean, beds were comfortable and decor is very simple. Could use an update. Showers were awesome, great water pressure and no lack of hot water. Bathroom is really tiny though but it was nice that the sink and mirror was outside of the bathroom, making it easier for two people to get ready in the morning. Coffee and water always available free to guests, as well as blueberry muffins in the am. If you want more of a breakfast than that, you’ll have to go find it! Staff was very nice and parking was easy. A tip, make sure you are at the shuttles at any stop along Sunday River 5 minutes before the departure time they post. We missed one shuttle even though we were there at the exact departure time and had to walk back to the hotel because the next one didn’t leave for another 45 mins. All in all a good stay and I would stay there again if I went back. …
Seems like a good deal except that you can only reserve 48 hours in advance (can't plan), there is NO availability on the weekend, and no refunds. That's $100 plus taxes I'll never see again. You can get better deals on other local places where you can actually make reservations in advance. Will never rent from Sunday River again.
If it's a comfy bed.cheap close to the mountain this is the spot for you.dog friendly..no breakfast..bummer..small hot tub but it's nice.room was very quiet..short drive to the lodges..they have a shuttle but didn't use it.
We paid a February vacation weekend rate to stay here with our elementary school age children. The staff was great and did their best, but a party of at least a hundred college students checked in around 11 pm and the entire place turned into a college dorm. Loud, late night partying between rooms, and lots of alcohol in common areas. If you have a family or you really love skiing on fresh snow in the morning do NOT stay here. If you want to socialize then it’s the perfect place because there doesn’t seem to be quiet hours. The room was decent but the sofa bed was broken with a really worn mattress. There is a common room but it is not for families- tons of alcohol and extremely crowded. Loud music late into the early morning hours. I’d consider 175.00 per night worthy of being able to expect enough quiet to sleep. Horrible experience, and sad because we were looking forward to some family down time.…
Stay here to enjoy 1 day of skiing. This was the perfect location for me. Simple easy no frills but at the base of the mountain. The shuttle runs every 30 mins to the lodge and pulls right up front. I'll surely be back for another quick trip!
I was a bit nervous after seeing the poor reviews, but overall you can't beat the convenience. A quick shuttle and you are on the mountain in 5 minutes. Hot tub wasn't running the first day, but was fixed. There is a cozy fireplace on the 2nd floor with games, nice to hang out after skiing. They also have coffee, tea and cocoa all day. They have lockers for your skis. The first floor fireplace was out. Also, the heat in our room was too loud, but the staff was able to get us a portable unit for our room. Ice machine not working, but staff able to get us ice for our room. Beds were comfortable with down comforters. Not a 5 star, but you aren't paying 5 star prices. For the price and convenience, I would stay again.
I got a great mid-week deal to stay here. It's nothing fancy but it doesn't claim to be. They had coffee in the lobby. Otherwise my stay was perfectly as the resort/inn describes itself. Good location on the resort.
Stayed here for first time. It is also the last time. You can get much better quality for less price in Bethel. Room was clean, but dated- wall heater was extremely noisy ruining sleeping, old tube TV, sink wasn't in the bathroom.
Not a welcoming place ! We were staying in Snow Cap Inn several times for the past few years. This place is not fancy, but at list staff was nice before .This year it went from average to terrible Last week when my husband was on the lift getting on the slop, handicap men fell of the lift head down(he was not secured) in front of him on the middle of the ride,my husband was screaming to get some help for the men and ended up going to the guard station ,since he was only witness.Understandably the whole trip was canceled do to stress of the situation,We came home and booked the Inn for the following week, but instead of Monday check in booked for Sunday.Upon arrival (the inn was half empty by the way)when we were told, mistake was made. We tried to explain to the manager Brain Cendall, and asked him to make an exception and change the date on the reservation , the manager response was ;no, we could of sell this room yesterday,"EXACTLY THAT ROOM,and would"n bother with the rest of the empty rooms in the Snow Cap Inn.They were never full before at this low season time. Needless to say we will not be staying there again ,nor recommend to anyone .…
