The setting is what makes this place. My husband and I stayed two nights at the end of the inn's season. We stayed in the pool house, but unfortunately, the propane ran out and there was no hot water for the entire stay. Too bad. Because the pool house is definitely a romantic, c

Dear NoSnarkIntended, Thank you for the kind and candid review. We agree the Inn is a lovely spot, and the pool house studio suites are special. We apologize that the hot water did not work during part of your stay and appreciate your acknowledgement that Management did adjust your bill for your inconvenience. It was a confluence of unique and highly unusual events that started with our contractor missing the auto fill and the subsequent failure of the boiler to automatically restart as programmed. It is a process that has always worked effectively, like clock-work. As a result of this situation, we have added to our routine maintenance a weekly check of all our tanks on the property to prevent this scenario from happening again. You both were incredibly gracious guests, and we are happy to hear that you will stay with us again -- and yes we will make sure the propane has been delivered! Happy and healthy holidays. We look forward to your next visit, hopefully next season. Regards, Mark Phillips General Manager

We stayed here at the end of a Fall Foliage vacation on the East Coast, and this Inn was a lovely last stop on our October trip. It is going to sound corny, but this location was almost too beautiful . . . between the changing colors of the leaves, ornate gardens, gorgeous views

Dear Joanmomatty, Thank you for the charming review. The Inn is truly a spectacular place, with some of the most beautiful views of Penobscot Bay in the Midcoast. When it's sunny and the air is clear the water sparkles like diamonds. It is breathtaking. Thanks for recognizing our wonderful staff. Everyone on the team takes great pride in their work and making your stay special. We agree that our location is ideal -- a peaceful oasis and gorgeous ocean resort just a few miles from Camden where you can experience great entertainment, dining and shopping. We hope you will have another opportunity to visit the Inn. Regards, Mark Phillips General Manager

The staff at The Inn could not have been more friendly or accommodating. The breakfasts were delicious and the afternoon cookies or muffins made the stay seem like being at a gorgeous home. The setting is breathtaking and the rooms are large and attractive.

Stopped again at this elegant, private Inn on the water, but in the woods in Camden ME. Quiet and lovely---this small (20-30 rooms) Inn has the grace and charm of Cape Cod with the feel of being in the woods in N.C. (and that's why it's not cheap). Delicious big breakfast starte

Dear Sherry C, Thank you for your kind review about the Inn as "elegant and private". It is exactly the mood we strive to achieve for our guests. As you said, we sit right on Penobscot Bay with amazing ocean views. We are a quiet resort yet perfectly situated for guests to explore and experience many of Maine's nearby coastal communities where there are a myriad of wonderful outdoor activities, museums, art galleries, shopping and restaurants. We appreciate your comments about breakfast, and Chef Alexis's "big talent", which of course we will pass on to her with great enthusiasm. We hope the Inn will continue to be a future respite from the Florida heat and flocks of tourists. Regards, Mark Phillips General Manager

Dear julie d, Thank you for rating our Inn as an "excellent bed and breakfast". We appreciate the mention of our "gorgeous grounds" and "beautiful seating areas" that provide guests with wonderful views and access to Penobscot Bay. Our rooms are airy, exceptionally large with great light; the fireplace adds a warm ambiance and cozy feel especially this time of year. As you state, the Infinity " pool is lovely". We make every effort to prolong the heating until those brisk, cool nights of September kick in. There is always the hot tub that is available for guests to relax and take in the incredible ocean views until we close in late October. Regards, Mark Phillips General Manager

Is the pool and hot tub open year round?
Unfortunately the inn itself is only open from May thru October.

Does this hotel accept small dogs?
Thank you for the inquiry. The Inn at Ocean's Edge does not allow pets. However, there is a really nice kennel in Northport called The Canine Country Club. Have a nice day.
