This hotel is over the top in terms of service, views and location. This was our first time here but definitely won’t be our last. They bent over backwards to accommodate us on a last minute booking. The staff are all so friendly and happy. You can’t beat the location and the views over the water are fabulous. Great food in the restaurant too.
Boathouse motel restaurant lovely view beautiful day for deck seating. My soda had a drowned ant in it(was comped). Then we go to refill water glasses from pitcher left at table and 2 more ants came out and when we looked inside pitcher there were more. At this point we lost our appetite could not finish food. We did get an apology but that was it! They blamed new soda system.
The Boathouse is in a perfect location in Kennebunkport. It is in Dock Square so it’s close to all the shops and restaurants. The bed was extremely comfortable, and the pillows were amazing. We had a room with a little deck to sit outside on. The breakfast was left at our door in a bag. It was perfect. The blueberry bread was the best I ever had. Coffee Available all morning. We really enjoyed our stay here, and would definitely stay again.
We were excited for our stay at the Boathouse, as the location is PERFECT. Our room was located in the Wharf section of the hotel and room on the 2nd floor. No elevator or person to help us with our bags, as we had 3 large duffle bags since we had been traveling for a few weeks. The room was small and simple but the walls extremely thin. We heard the TV's from the two adjoining rooms as well as people's conversations. Limited information was provided upon arrival as to what activities the hotel offers (Kayaks but one needs to go to the Marina down the street). Will end by saying the location is great - we walked around the town and enjoyed the area but can't say the hotel was worth the price.
When my wife was making our reservations, the website seemed to indicate rooms with a water view, spacious, etc…. Not the case. Our room was small with a pitched roof hindrance for tall people and a view of the room next door and dumpster. Ceiling was low on bathroom causing us to hit our head. Power outlets were scarce and our plug kept falling out of the outlets. Stair treads were very narrow so be careful going up and down. Beds were comfortable and the place was fairly clean. Hot water worked. We had a small window unit air conditioner which kept us fairly cool with the cord stretched across the floor in front of a corner. Oh, our tv box worked sporadically so we usually could only get 1 channel. The place was centrally located and we could walk most everywhere we went. Front desk lady did help us when we were In another town and had no Uber back. I think the website was very misleading considering the room we expected versus the room we got.…
I don’t mind spending money but getting totally ripped off makes my blood boil. The Wharf House building and our room (425) are absolutely sub-standard and we were outraged at being charged $500/night for what we got. The carpet is stained and sports large holes. The entire space is outdated. Your « view » is of the parking lot. The walls are paper-thin and you can hear the people overhead stomping around. There is no elevator and the stairs are steep. The side entrance is beside a set of dumpsters. I was apoplectic when we arrived and saw the place and have since learned that we are far from the first guests to aggressively complain about the condition of the accommodations. Shame, shame, SHAME on the greedy property owners for screwing the vacationing public like this. There are many nice places (hotels and Inns alike) to stay in Kennebunkport, so you should avoid this property like the plague. You’ve been warned - ignore it at your own risk.…
The view is fabulous..overlooks Lake Flower. Heater was very attentive and remembered us from last month. The Thai soup was good but spicier than last time..I don’t think they added the coconut milk.. We took a friend from Florida and she loved it.
My husband and I stayed at the Boathouse for our 38th anniversary just within the last week. The Boathouse was the best experience we could have asked for. The staff at the front desk and in the bar/restaurants were extremely friendly and helpful. Our room was exceptional. Spacious, clean, and the bed was so comfortable. We even got to visit the roof deck which was amazing. The contintenal breakfast was a pleasant surprise. Our overall experience was "awesome".
I highly recommend avoiding this place. No staff at check in — on Memorial Day weekend. Had to move our car because we were in a different building. Get ready to over look parking lots instead of the harbor! There was no elevator in this building and they put me on the third floor while pregnant. I shouldn’t have even lifted the bags. The room is serviceable but grubby, outdated, and has maintenance issues. Think roof leak, torn window screens and punctured lampshades with a window unit. It’s just frankly crappy, and I can’t believe I got catfished into wasting a night of vacation here.
This is a beautiful hotel on the water with a lovely view and a very good restaurant. This hotel is very small— it’s a boutique hotel. It is a self service hotel. To check in you use an app and use the app to access your room and the elevator. The front desk Manager is hardly there. If you need something you have to call the main number and speak to someone at their sister property. The rooms were clean I did not find the bedding to be of high-quality the pillows were very lumpy and the comforter was not plush. The room was nicely decorated and had everything we needed, but I believe they fell short on the bedding. The hotel is in a great location walking distance to everything. The restaurant is very good we ate there twice. When we went to check out we received three separate emails with three different amounts when I went to the front desk to ask questions about my bill there was no one there. I had to call a sister property when I got home to resolve the issue. They offer breakfast buffet which really means muffins yogurt juice and coffee. They did not offer decaf coffee which is what I drink and I found that very disappointing this is the first hotel I’ve ever stayed at that doesn’t offer Hot Brewed decaf. The bottom line it’s in a great location with a nice restaurant the rooms are just OK it’s not worth over $500 a night. I’ve stayed in the number five star resorts around the world and the quality does not measure up to the price.…
