We all enjoyed our treatments at the Tree Spa. I had a facial that included a head, neck and hand/arm massage. I loved it and it was the best facial I ever had. My sister and brother-in-law had a couples massage. They are massage veterans and said this was one of the best. The treatment areas we experienced were in actual treehouses. It was so beautiful, especially in the Fall with the colors. The setting was peaceful and while clean it was not clinical or medical-feeling nor did it feel like a "salon" spa thing. I thought it was wonderful that we could use the heated "serenity pool" before or after our treatment. Lots of lounge chairs around the pool as well as regular chairs plus an outdoor bar that served an assortment of beverages and light meals. Know Before You Go: This place is NOT easy to find, even with a GPS. The Spa has no signs. You have to find the restaurant called "Earth," and then look for the Spa behind the restaurant. But, the setting is beautiful with all the trees. Worth the trouble to find it. The road leading to the Spa is horrible. Lots of holes. Unpaved. Drive 5 mph. Not kidding. They really need to fix this. The parking area is not labeled and there is a sign that says "Valet Parking only." I guess that Valet thing is for the restaurant. Parking is in an unpaved area about a 50-75 yard walk from the spa.…
Hidden Pond, what a magical place, splendidly integrated into the surrounding forest, away from the hustle and bustle of the streets. The perfect place to relax, chat, read or sip your favorite martini in the warmth of the fire. A walk around the area captivated us with the magic of autumn colors. Dinner at the Earth restaurant is another culinary delight that will remain in our memory for a long time. Excellent and friendly service ensures a great atmosphere and makes it a unique place that we will be happy to come back to. Thank Ophelia and her team for making our stay in Hidden Pond unforgettable.
Prior to our arrival, the customer service experience started off great. Albert, the concierge, helped with dinner reservations and some local bakery recommendations. Once we arrived, I was excited upon entrance. The property is nicely tucked away amongst the trees. Our bungalow was so welcoming, clean and spacious. All of the staff we met were great, from our shuttle driver, to the staff delivering breakfast. They really complemented the stay. I can not say enough about my spa experience at Tree Spa. I would highly recommend a stay at Hidden Pond and am looking forward to returning.
Where do I begin? My wife and I were looking forward to this much needed getaway after reading reviews from previous guests. This unique property is off the beaten path and it’s serene location gives meaning to its name. From the moment we arrived at the resort we felt relaxed and ready to unwind. We could not have been more impressed with the service from every employee we interacted with. We were warmly greeted by Priscila and Jorge at the main lodge check in who set the stage for great expectations during our three day trip, it was explained to us that we would have fresh baked pastries and freshly brewed coffee waiting outside of our bungalow, which was quite a treat. The staff even inquired as to whether we had any dietary restrictions for the breakfast delivery which showed great attention to detail and care for their guests. Upon entering our seaside themed bungalow, we could tell this was going to be a memorable trip. The bungalows, which are located in an adults-only section of the resort, were all newly redesigned this spring before the resort reopened for the season, and it was obvious. Our seaside themed unit featured a seashell accent wall behind the bed which was extremely attractive.the coastal Maine inspired decor perfectly befit what one thinks of when visiting Kennebunkport. The bungalow had a 50” flat screen tv, gas fireplace, screened in porch, outdoor shower, mini fridge (stocked with Natalie’s oj, bottled water, delicious yogurts, and butter for the morning pastries), microwave, and an electric kettle. We had a beautiful hutch/kitchenette with flatware, silverware, and wine glasses. The best part was the minibar stocked with many local New England favorites. Over the course of our three nights we received excellent and timely service from the housekeeping staff during the day, and during turndown service at night, we returned to delicious caramels on our pillows after dinner. The resort offers a first come, first serve shuttle service which you can schedule by texting the front desk. We utilized this service to go to two dinners we ate off property, as well as to go shopping in town during the day. It’s a great perk that worked flawlessly. My wife attended the complimentary yoga one morning, and we greatly enjoyed the staff guided hike out at Timber Point with Ryan, the Resort Activities Manager. Albert, the Chef Concierge arranged a tee time for us at Cape Arundel Golf Club, he was extremely responsive to us before and after our stay. By the way, for you golfers out there, it’s a really fun course. My wife greatly enjoyed her 90 minute CBD massage at the Tree Spa and came back a new woman! Finally, we dined at Earth on our final evening. Skipping lunch that day looking forward to the dinner meal due to the restaurant’s stellar reputation, my wife and I both chose the four course option on the restaurant’s prix fixe menu. Each dish that was served was more delicious than the one before and they had an excellent wine list as well. Our server was very knowledgeable and made some great recommendations, and the managers Robyn and Ana came by to introduce themselves, which was a nice personal touch. A true top-notch experience worth every penny!…
Hidden Pond is a respite; A charming place that feels at home. The service was exceptional (special thanks to Robyn who was so attentive and thoughtful towards our family during our stay). The rooms were beautiful and the amenities were very thoughtful. We couldn't ask for a better family experience. This place, and its connection to nature, is inspiring.
We had the most amazing stay here! It was wonderful for a family vacation (we have young children), and my kids absolutely loved the arts and crafts activities - Ryan was amazing! Can't wait to come back next year!
Hidden gem -hidden treasure - hidden charm - wow!!! Wow!! Off the beaten track but glad of it - stayed in a single structure unattached bungalow - fantastic sun porch - remarkable room - outdoor shower - beautiful bathroom - extremely well decorated - but beyond the little touches we all deserve - this stay will never be hidden in our dreams anymore
We're repeat visitors to Hidden Pond over the years. But at the current price point, the experience has slipped to the point where we would no longer recommend to the property to friends. Still has lots of charm. But for Four Seasons prices, the experience is too Marriott. To point out a few things: * Consistently mistook our pre-arrival requests. Note, these were not price altering requests. Just preparation requests * Cabins are very outdated for the price and in dire need of upgrade and maintenance * Front office and guest service staff -- while all well meaning and try hard -- are not problem solvers. Also, not enough of them * For a property that has tried to cater more to families over the years, Earth is terribly insufficient * Also, Earth is overbooked for hotel guests given local demand and no priortization * No real lunch or dinner options on premise Only real improvement over the years, despite significant price escalation, has been the kids program this year was better organized and with a real human running it. Over the years, we've met plenty of one-and-done guests to the property, while we've been repeat visitors. After this year, at this cost, we may fall in that camp when booking for next year. The property clearly books out well, so not an issue for them. But at this price point, you really want to minimize customer churn and ensure delight. Again, more Marriott than Four Seasons…
I took a while to reflect on my stay. It was such an absolute train wreck I had to take time to process it. The glowing TA reviews are what made us pick this spot, and boy was that NOT our experience. It started before we arrived, with multiple people reaching out to make sure that we would have everything we needed-and explaining the way breakfast worked. We pointed out that we would like plain yogurt, to which they told us to bring our own or buy it at the local market, they didn't have any (btw-they did, it was in a dish at the restaurant). Instead they left serve sugar laden yogurt that went uneaten, and a muffin that was from a mix. Oh-the screened porch--screen ripped and full of bugs-so much for a leisurely read. Cutting garden to bring flowers back to your cottage-no flowers, oops. There was just an overall lack of authenticity and attention to real hospitality. Everything was forced and fake--like a movie set of a Maine Resort. (Or a Resort owned owned by an investment firm). And I don't mind paying these usurious rates for perfection--which this, decidedly, was not.…
We just returned from our third stay at Hidden Pond. The resort is a perfect getaway for relaxing in a beautiful setting. We booked last minute with another couple. The accommodations that were available were in one of the Treehouse units Perfect for 2 couples to share. Only negative with our unit was that it did not have an outdoor shower, which it appeared was the only unit without the outdoor shower. But we had our own space plus a small central living room and small dining area. We had some warm days and took advantage of the shuttle to Gooserocks beach which was easy and efficient. The drivers were all so courteous. The beach is amazing. The hotel had 2 pools which we took advantage of -heated to perfect temperatures. We had drinks by the pools and each evening at 5 by the family pool we could make s'mores in the fire pit. We used the gym every day and my wife took a daily yoga class. We had dinner at Earth which is such a treat. Beautiful room with great food and great staff. We had Danielle wait on us and she was wonderful. Another young woman waited on us for breakfast who was just so pleasant and helpful . We find its the staff that really makes the resort so special. Everyone from front desk to waiters and housekeeping are so friendly and always went out of their way to help. And always with a smile. Shannon and Bridget at the front desk are so kind and helpful as was Cory. A very special shoutout to Alrick Allen who works by the family pool. He made us some great drinks, served lunch, and delivered breakfast each morning and just could not be more friendly. We had some great conversations with him and really got to know him. We all feel like we made a special friend. He treated all the guests that way. Truly a very special person who went above and beyond! So we will definitely be returning to Hidden Pond!…
