This was the center piece of a 50th anniversary trip to Maine. I had been many times for work but she had never been. We saw many new places. The Inn lived up to its advertisement. Elizabeth was a fabulous owner and host. I had ordered the romance package & she made sure the flower arrangement was yellow roses my wife’s fav. She met us in the main house & immediately made us feel at home. Stayed in the Tranquility room on second floor of the carriage house. King bedroom w/gas fireplace and second living room. Downstairs was an inviting community den with fireplace which we used the 1st morning as there was a gale force storm & rain blowing sideways! The young lady that cleaned our rooms was a magician. Quiet, fast, thorough and efficient. Definitely recommend.
All you have to do is read the reviews to understand what this property is all about. This was our second time to stay here, this time for Christmas Prelude, and we've already made reservations to return for Memorial Day. We've stayed at the Waterfront Boathouse, Yachtsman, Cape Arundel Inn - and this is by far the best, hands down. The owner, Elizabeth, and all of her staff, are extremely friendly, welcoming and always there to assist if you need anything or have any request. And Elizabeth is very responsive and accommodating to any request that you have. The Inn itself is meticulously clean, with old world charm but modern touches. Whatever time of year you go it is tastefully decorated. The rooms themselves are unique and spacious, and have all the amenities you need. There's a room for every need whether you want a king size bed, gas fireplace, refrigerator, large bathroom with multi-head shower, etc. There's something for everyone. And the 3 course included breakfast is probably the best breakfast in town, all homemade and fresh baked with local ingredients. And the location is perfect, just off the beaten path away from all the hustle and bustle but an easy walk into town. If you're looking to spend some time in Kennebunkport, don't look to book anywhere else but the Inn at English Meadows. We come to Kennebunkport quite often, and it's our new home away from home.…
Spent a long weekend here recently and absolutely loved it. Stayed in the serenity room which was on the second floor and very private. The room was so nice and super clean. The entire room was so tasteful and just an overall lovely property. Breakfast every morning was wonderful. The location was great. We walked to dinner every evening. Loved everything about our stay!
We spent two nights at The Inn at English Meadows as part of a Marriott Vacation Club, Epicurean Tour. The owner, Elizabeth is wonderful. She is welcoming, friendly and helpful. Our suite in the carriage house was comfortable and well appointed. Breakfast in the morning was a truly enjoyable experience. Even though it was mid October and the weather in the morning was cool ( low 40’s), we sat outside both mornings. Breakfast was two courses; fruit first and then a unique breakfast entree. Our first morning, we had sliced bananas with yogurt, granola and local honey, plus blueberries. It was excellent. Our breakfast entree was two soft bacon waffles with Maine syrup. Delicious. The second morning we had fresh blackberries and afresh, warm, blueberry scone. Our entree was a cheese and vegetable tart. Also delicious. As part of our “Marriott” package, we spent our second afternoon in the kitchen with Kathy, Elizabeth’s chef. This was a private cooking exercise with Kathy in the kitchen at the Inn. Our menu was fresh lobster in a beurre blanc sauce with roasted potatoes and roasted cherry tomatoes. We had a cheese tray available along with a bottle of wine while assisting with the meal preparation. We started by making the beurre blanc sauce which was much easier than I imagined. After prepping the vegetables and getting them in the oven, we put water on the stove to steam the lobsters. Cooking and cleaning the lobster meat was again, easier than imagined. We then put the lobster meat into the sauce and then plated the meal. Finally, we then moved to the dining room to enjoy the fruits of our labor. This was an awesome experience. I understand that this cooking experience can be booked directly on the Inn web site. This was a first class experience and we appreciate the support from Kathy and Elizabeth.…
This is one of our favorite spots to stay while in Maine. The Inn is beautiful and very clean. Elizabeth, the Innkeeper is so nice and makes you feel so welcome. If weather is good we could enjoy a 2 course breakfast on the patio and it was delicious. We were served some very unique dishes and loved every bite. Our room was so comfortable and clean. We would highly recommend this Inn if you want a special stay.
The Inn is in a great location. The grounds are super nice. The owner is really nice, and the breakfasts are creative. I missed having more variety and some buffet-type arrangement though. We booked the cottage because we were traveling with our 14 years old son and with our dog. While the grounds and common areas were nice, the cottage was below our expectations. The bathroom was tiny and jammed. The living room was also tiny. There was no place where to put our luggage. There was no cleaning service for two days. I would recommend this inn, but the cottage was overpriced for the service and for the size.
wife and I spent three lovely days in August at the inn. The owner Elizabeth is hands on and present everyday. The rooms are clean and come with first class amenities. The best thing about your stay is the gourmet breakfast.
We highly recommend The Inn at English Meadows. Owner Elizabeth was so helpful and available pre-visit and during our five-night stay. Delicious breakfasts and afternoon cookies. Great location for exploring the southern coast of Maine.
I cannot say enough great things about the Inn at English Meadows. Elizabeth, the owner, is so warm, welcoming and informative. She was a huge help to us as we planned a small reunion for a group of friends over my 40th birthday, providing lots of great advice on Kennebunk restaurants and activities too. The onsite breakfast was wonderful and homemade each morning, plus really yummy cookies in the afternoon! The beds were especially comfortable with top notch linens and pillows. We walked to town each day and enjoyed every minute. We will absolutely be back again. Thank you team for everything, you made our visit one to remember!
Excellent stay at the Inn. Great service from Elizabeth and team. Breakfast was tasty and afternoon cookies were a sweet touch. Team thoughtfully accommodated my teen’s allergies. Suite was nicely decorated, very comfortable and immaculate. Lots of reading material for local interest. Inn is a pleasant 5-10 minute walk to town. Would very much like to return one day.
