This place is a terrific value. It was sparkling clean and had a wonderful continental breakfast that included hard boiled eggs. They go the extra mile. Not surprised that they were fully booked and it's not even vacation season yet. Thanks for doing such a great job and the price was such a bargain. PS spend the $ saved at the terrific restaurant nearby. The Tavern, reservations recommended.
Truly for basic accommodations in the Kennebunk area, look no further than the Lodge at Kennebunk. Immaculately clean, insanely comfortable bed & even a Smart TV! We had a micro/fridge combo in our room for convenience and a small table with two chairs, perfect for a quick bite when we arrived. Charles was kind and accommodating, and breakfast in the morning was more than adequate with bagels, waffles, hard boiled eggs, fruit, and yogurt. Easy access right off of I-95; the value simply can’t be beat. We can’t wait for our next stay!
Just a great experience all around. The room was large and very clean, the parking was convenient and the staff made us feel very welcome. Additionally, the price of the room was very reasonable. Despite being right off route 95 it was still quiet and had a great feel. I will definitely stay here again when in the Kennebunk area.
Two day one overnight stay, and a very comfortable and clean room. Lodge rooms all ground level. Non-smoking everywhere although some people don’t seem to understand or are unable to read the signs! I didn’t go expecting a five-star resort/Lodge, I wanted a clean room, bed and clean bathroom and safe atmosphere. And that is what I got. The manager of the resort was fantastic, funny, honest, accommodating, and I would love to go back just to get to talk to him again. The breakfast room was quaint, just enough room, had a great selection for a continental breakfast, and clean & comfortable. I would definitely go back.
Quick last minute trip to Maine had me scrambling to find a place to stay. Happened across The Lodge by chance & glad I did. Very convenient location. The owner very nice. Room was larger than I expected and clean. Hardwood floors in our room which is not something you see often in hotels/motels.
Great stay here! Close to all the beach towns. Room was very clean, beds were comfortable. Some rooms have suites ( 2 beds in one room), and then an extra bedroom attached/separate room with door (one bed), and has a shared bathroom. There is an outdoor pool, bbq grills, picnic tables, bicycles you can use, vending machines, and a free breakfast everyday is included (make fresh waffles, also had bagels, English muffins; oatmeal, yogurt, hard boiled eggs, oranges, juice, and coffee). Owner is lovely. Would definitely recommend and would stay again.
We stayed for 3 nights while at a family reunion. One room for family of 6, plenty of space with 2 bedroom suite, another room a double for a couple. Less expensive than fancier places, but very clean with daily maid service, good breakfast daily, a pool and playground. Convenient to many beaches, lighthouses, restaurants and attractions. Owner Charles is a colorful guy who runs a tight ship with high standards. He has a great sense of humor, is full of anecdotes and travel advice. Beds are comfortable, place is pet friendly, there is a fridge and microwave in each room. We will return, and recommend.
One night in Kennebunk Maine during peak summer season at an inexpensive price. Those are usually words that are too good to be true, but not at the Lodge At Kennebunk. The Lodge is located right off the highway, and is central to several different towns in Maine. We had traveled to Old Orchard Beach and it was only about 20 minutes to the hotel. The gentleman who waited on me at check-in was extremely friendly and easy going. He made me feel comfortable at the Lodge immediately. The room was enormous. I had chosen the King size room. It had a tv, chair, corner high top table and chairs along with a full size refrigerator and microwave. It appeared that the room had been recently renovated. The bed was comfortable, and though our room faced the highway, the noise level was low (even with the window open) and we had a great night sleep. The room was very clean. Since we were there only one night, we did not get a chance to swim in the pool. We did sample the breakfast that was included. It was a great spread with waffles, bagels, yogurt, hard boiled eggs, and more! All in all, it was a great stay and I would choose it again for my next trip.…
The manager is a riot and very friendly. Check in was fast with a minimum of time taken. Good size room for one or two people. Refrigerator worked great as did the microwave. There was a sink and small shelf area but no utensils or plates. The shower worked well and there seemed to be plenty of outlets. The pool is heated and is close to a kids playset area.
My wife and I were traveling to Biddeford for a family event. We generally stay at B&B’s, but prices in the Kennebunk area in July are steep (even for us), and many were already booked. So we booked a room at the Holiday Inn Biddeford in May. Two days before our scheduled arrival we received an email from Holiday Inn confirming our reservation. I called the hotel (local number) and was told we had cancelled our reservation the day after it was made in May, what?, and they had no rooms (I will go into the shoddy treatment from Holiday Inn in a separate review). We now either had to cancel for the family event or hope to find a room in a heavy tourist area in mid July. I called the Lodge and spoke to the manager Charles. He said they were full but took my name in the event they had a cancellation. I called each of the next two days to check, but nothing had opened up. We called the family Friday to let them know we had to cancel for Saturday. Later on Friday I received a call from Charles that he had a cancellation and we had a room! He told us that he was able to refund the party that cancelled (even though they were well out of the policy period for a refund), who does that? Charles let us check in early, on the way to the event, so that we could just head to our room later in the evening. The room was fine for our needs for the one night. In a time of employee shortages in the hospitality industry, we wanted to acknowledge the wonderful customer service we received from Charles. Well done!…
