The motel room #19 was disgusting. Everything I touched was grimy and filthy. The soap holder on the tub had build up when I touched it. The window would not lock and I feared the floors would fall in as I walked the floors moved with softness and roller coaster dips. One bed was collapsed the other hard and cheap. I am leaving this crap place now and will never return.
Please note, this is not the lower-end place that its rates would suggest. The owners have just decided to keep the place full, by keeping rates low. It is fairly large, with about a dozen nice cabins, and a smallish motel-type building (five rooms). Really nice property, nicely landscaped, etc. We stumbled on it, when trying to find a place for under $200 (in mid-summer). All southern Maine hotels and motels have doubled or tripled their rates this year, to take advantage of the strong interest in travel. This place has not. We paid about $125 for a two-queen room, in the motel building. Beds were decent, as was the rollaway cot. Good sized fridge and a nice TV. Good wifi. Curtains blocked sun quite well. Shower was pretty good. We had a nice porch. Parking was ten feet from our door. A really nice pool, with depths from 3 feet to 9 feet. We could supervise our kids on the playground fifty feet away, just by looking out the back window. AC worked good. This place was very quiet, with a good clientele. We could use the microwave in the office building, and they had coffee there. The location is good, about a quarter mile outside of Kennebunk downtown.Room was quite clean. A few minor quibbles: we usually avoid places that accept pets, but the rate for this place made us make an exception. The shower had a mind of its own at times. There was mold or mildew in the AC (but the owner/housekeeper cleaned it when asked...must be hard to keep this from happening when near the coast). But when you are saving $100 per night, and it’s a nice place overall, those can be overlooked.…
We stayed two nights here. The clerk at check in was friendly, quick and knowledgeable. The room was clean and neat. My grandkids and we loved the pool. We spent the whole afternoon there and had the place to ourselves! This place is close to everything. We would stay here again.
We only had one night in Kennebunk and this place was perfect for us. The staff was friendly and the check-in was quick. We had a room in the motel portion, but the cottages looked nice if we'd been able to stay longer. The location was good, with lots of things to do within a few minutes drive. Our room was comfortable and clean. We would definitely stay here again the next time we are in the area.
We rented a two-bedroom cottage. It was very clean. Air conditioning and electric heat available. Well-stocked kitchen, charcoal grill and picnic table just for us. Badminton, horseshoes, and the pool was open. We used it every day (note: it’s not heated). We’d definitely return.
I expect we got one of the transient-type of cabins (#2); I would assume that the nicer cottages were booked out by regulars. Ours was not very attractive at all, but we only needed it for 1 night while we were passing by on a road trip. I wasn't expecting much as it was so much cheaper than the other accommodations in the area, so I knew we'd be roughing it a bit! We were in late and out early and that was OK because the #2 cabin we were in had seen better days. It was somewhat suitable for our purposes, but I wouldn't have wanted to spend an extended stay in that particular one. We did not use any other facilities. That said, it was nice to have parking right in front of our cabin, it was easy to find, and it is definitely the most budget-friendly choice in a very expensive area!…
This was a great budget friendly spot to stay for the night! The staff was extremely friendly and helpful! The rooms were clean and had the basics you needed. Each room had there own parking spot which was great!
We had booked another place, but due to a change in plans, had to move from Thursday to Friday night and that place needed a two night minimum. We were traveling with our dog so needed pet friendly. This place had OK reviews. 50 years ago we went to NYC with another couple. We stopped at a hotel in New Jersey because my friend was not feeling well. When we checked in, they asked if we wanted the room for all night. That sort of says it all. Use your imagination. Number one worst place I have stayed. The Gallery Motel and Cottages comes in second. The carpet should have been replaced years ago, the floors uneven and you wondered if you might fall through, the shower was the tiny, two-foot square tin box of the ‘50’s, the beds were “crackly” (what was that??), sheets I would not use to clean my car. Kept my flip-flops on in the shower. I did not think places like this existed. Highlights were that the toilet was newer and worked, there was plenty of hot water, towels were clean. Woke up around 4:30 and got ready to leave. I don’t know how this place got any favourable reviews. …
Stopped at this place the day after Labor Day with my 3 sons. It was just perfect to get some rest on our way from Bangor, ME to Boston. We all slept great and it had good amenities and comfy beds. There's a small play area in the back for kids, perfect to get out their energy after a long car ride. We arrived late and the owner was very courteous and friendly. They take good care of the place and the ocean breeze was lovely. I highly recommend! Price was very reasonable.
We went to stay there for 4 nights in July. What a nice place! Clean and well maintained. Our unit had a small kitchen which allowed us to cook our own food. There is a big inground pool and a volleyball court. Dogs are welcomed. It is quiet and relaxing. We plan on going back with the kids very soon.
