The location is great, but the rooms are tired, and the bath is small. Right on the ocean, make sure you have that view, preferably on the second floor. No elevator. Continental breakfast offers delicious homemade muffins, bagels or English muffins, orange sections and coffee or tea.
This inn is not luxurious, but it is perfect. This was our first stop on a trip through Maine and after a long drive, we fell asleep to the sound of waves crashing outside our sliding door. Being right by the beach made our stay so relaxing. It was an easy walk into town for lobster rolls! We will stay again if in the area.
We stayed for a week in early November and loved our stay. While the inn could use some cosmetic improvements, it was nothing that hindered our stay. We LOVED the location- walks on the beach everyday right across the lawn and a leisurely 20 minute walk into downtown Kennebunkport for dinner and shopping. We rented 2 rooms: 1 premium oceanfront (2nd story) and 1 regular room (2nd story): both rooms were similar but the view in the premium room was well worth the extra cost. There is no elevator so if steps are an issue, get a ground floor room. The complimentary daily breakfast was great. We loved the different fresh muffins each day and also the homemade oatmeal. We used the shared outdoor 6-person hot tub a couple times and it has a great view of the ocean. The staff were very nice and accommodating and we will definitely stay here again next time we're in Kennebunkport.…
This sea side inn was very clean and quaint. The staff was super all week. The highlight of the morning was guessing what flavor muffin that they would have for breakfast. Our stay lasted 7 days, there was never a muffin repeat. They we exceptionally delish. Also the oatmeal every morning was amazing as well. I have never eaten that fresh of oatmeal, it sure is a must try! The hot tub was delightful as well. The view from the room was beautiful to wake up to every morning. Over all.. it was a fantastic place to stay. And would choose this Inn to return to on another trip to Maine.
Stumbled on this Inn researching our trip out East. Would definitely stay here again! Was clean and quiet and right on the beach to walk next to the ocean! Fun that oldest Inn in America! The hot muffins for breakfast were awesome!!
Great place to get away. It is beachy - but very clean and right on the beach. Staff is wonderful....we went in June 2020 and again in late August 2020 and the owners/staff handled COVID well - we were very impressed!
Great location for a seaside getaway. Friendly staff, nice beach, bikes/beach chairs on location for guest use and you're just a short distance from town. The hot tub is only open 8am-8pm we wished it would have been open a little later. We were a bit dissapointed with our room, the 2nd floor rooms without the Seaside view are in need of updates not worth $300 a night. Don't make my mistake and get the nice updated rooms with a view for almost the same price. 🌊 Homemade muffins and coffee each morning were awesome!
Location is what your paying for here!!! Being able to walk to the beach barefoot from our patio was the reason I picked this place for our Honeymoon. My husband wanted the hot tub. On our final night there, after a few rainy gloomy days we got the chance to finally try out the hot tub. As soon as we took the cover off , you could see the sand in the bottom. We went ahead and gave it a try anyway. As soon as you turned the jets on, there was a foam that encased you, and letf a brown edge around the top of the hot tub. We splashed some water around the edges which washed away the brown for a moment. The hot tub DEFINATLY needs a G OOD cleaning. We only lasted in there for about 5 mins, before we deceided it was too gross to sit in any longer. We went back to our room, rinsed off in the shower and back to the beach we went for our last night of relaxing. We would come back here for soley the location and private beach within minutes of our room.…
The Seaside Inn was just perfect for our weekend vacation! The room was very clean and comfortable, and we enjoyed our private deck overlooking the ocean. Continental breakfast was wonderful with steel cut oats, homemade muffins, and fresh fruit. Best of all, we were only steps from the clean and expensive beach! We highly recommend the Seaside Inn.
The reason to stay here is proximity to the beach, you can walk there within a few minutes of your room. That is worth a lot right there. The building itself leaves a lot to be desired. It is billed as being the oldest standing hotel in the US, it looks and feels like it was built in the 1950's and has not been touched since. It does not have an old enough feel to get away with its quality, if it felt like something built several hundred years ago (as advertised) then I would be get some enjoyment out of it, but it just feels dated (not enough to be whimsical). I would give 5 stars for location and 2 stars for the facilities.
