Laid back and chill is how I would characterize this B and B...which is probably a reflection of one of the owners, King. He made us feel so welcomed without being in our faces all the time. Made us coffee in the evening to go with a dessert we picked up in town...he brags about his coffee! And he should...

Hallowell for me was a return to home where I lived as a youth. For my wife from Illinois, it was a return to times past. A charming city (yes a city!) and an elegantly charming B&B. The spacious home is just one street up from the main street, and a quick easy walk to several excellent restaurants. King and...

The hosts made us feel very welcome and were full of ideas for restaurants and local sites to explore. The walking trail along the river is beautiful.Breakfast was fabulous with home-made blueberry muffins, an egg/spinach scramble gourmet coffee, fresh fruit and grainy bread toast. The rooms have unique art and antiques which the owners have collected from their travels around...

If you happen to be in Augusta and need a place to stay, try Second Street B&B instead of the big chain hotels out by the highway for comfortable accommodations in a gorgeous old mansion, easy walking distance to a variety of shops and restaurants on the main street that goes along the Kennebec River in picturesque Hallowell. Sarah, the...

This B & B is EXCEPTIONAL. It is a beautifully updated 1830's home turned into a 4 room upstairs, 1 room main floor room gem. The rooms are beautifully decorated and spacious with modern bathroom facilities. The inviting wrap around porch is a relaxing place to have morning coffee or unwind after a full day. Sara and King add their...

A very charming B&B in trendy Hallowell. The room that we stayed in (as well as the rest of large house) was totally renovated in a tasteful manner and well equipped. Breakfast was simple by tasty and conversation with the hosts was laid back and engaging. They have wonderfully eclectic art and crafts throughout the house which we enjoyed looking.

I have never enjoyed my stay more! The owners are fantastically helpful and interesting. We came in October when the apples were in season, and came back to the b&b one evening to a surprise treat of all of the local apples that were ripe for picking. It was quite a treat! Also every breakfast was several courses of fresh...

Recently stayed here on a business trip and would highly recommend it to any business or vacation traveler. From the minute I stepped foot inside everyone was extremely welcoming. The room was very spacious and stylish with exposed brick and even a fireplace. The bed was very comfortable and set the stage for a great night's sleep. The breakfast was...

Beautiful B&B, large rooms, very comfortable beds, lovely & tasteful breakfasts, & a lovely porch for sitting. Very short & enjoyable walk to downtown resturants, shops, bars, walking trails, & the scenic Kennebec River. This is the only place I stay when in the area. Who could ask for anything more.

We only spent one night here, passing through Maine. It was an excellent choice, where we were made very welcome round some very minor family issues which made us feel quite at home. We had an excellent room, full of character. It was an easy walk to the main street to eat. (Here is the one point where we differed...
