This is the 4th year in a row my wife and I have stayed here, first it was 3 nights, then 5, then 6 and this time 7 nights. Fantastic, serene, unspoiled location. We brought our own kayaks and paddled on Long Pond every day, going all the way to the opposite end one day, in addition to hiking nearby... More

I can't say enough good things any Sarah, Nathan and Chris. They were the most welcoming professional team of people I've had the pleasure of meeting. We were so spoiled throughout our stay, the accommodations were beautiful, the food was amazing and I look forward to going back. A 5 star rating just isn't enough!

Everything about the Lodge and Cabin was terrific! Chef Nate's food was absolutely delicious....the staff - Chris and Sarah were a delight! Our deluxe cabin was perfect and we totally needed to be off the grid! Canoeing the lake was incredible with spectacular foliage. It was our first visit, but we will be back for sure. Thank you Gorman Chairback... More

We stayed in cabin 11, which worked very well for our family of 4 (two adult daughters). Private bath. This lodge is in a beautiful site right on a lake, and we had a great time using their kayaks, canoes and SUPs. The food was really good, the best of all of the many AMC lodges and huts we've stayed... More

We had a fantastic time while vacationing at AMC's Gorman Chairback Lodge and Cabins. It was our first visit and it won't be our last. We stayed in one of eight cabins on the lake (Cabin 4) and loved everything about it. Great view, cozy cabin, comfortable bed, cute porch (with two rocking chairs and a handcrafted table) and all... We stayed in cabin 8, just a few feet from Long Pond. It was an 8 sided cottage that used to be the library. There is a double bed and 2 twin beds. The double bed was very comfortable. The food is terrific and plentiful. One night we had grilled chicken, roasted corn, baked potato and a fresh spinach salad.... More

It's a long drive to find this gem in the midst of the Maine woods, but well worth it. A former hunting/fishing camp, the Appalachian Mountain Club has fixed up the place and made it wonderful if you love the outdoors. Eight or nine cabins on the lakefront are rustic but comfortable. Three "deluxe" cabins behind them are rustic and... More

We stayed here on a luxurious overnight while hiking the 100 Mile Wilderness on the AT and it was fantastic (we took two zero's it was so nice and relaxing). We came to Gorman Chairback Lodge as a family with 4 teenagers over Memorial Day weekend. We stayed in a "deluxe" cabin, meaning it had a bathroom and upgraded spaces from the lakefront cabins. It was perfectly sized for us: a queen bedroom, a bunk room bedroom and futon in the living room. All linens and towels, as well as... More
