Beautiful, rustic inn. Very comfortable!! Staff members were friendly and very helpful. We really wanted to be able to see a moose in the wild, and the staff gave us some ideas for places to look. We were not successful, but had fun trying!! Fall colors were great!!
Warm, welcoming and clean. We had a great stay. Dog Friendly. Yard was lovely for walking our dogs. Showers were hot. Bed and linens were super Comfortable. This will be our repeating choice when visiting the Moosehead Lake Region. Reservations were easy to make.
Cosy Motel, room large and well equiped (coffee, water, even belgian Biscoff Speculoos !), very friendly and helpful Staff, good location for starting visiting the Country, easy reach, enough parking facilities
I actually hesitate writing this review because I don't want to have a hard time getting a room when I try to book next year! We love this place. We first visited circa 2008 and found the staff extremely friendly and helpful. The furnishings (and exterior) perfectly suit the area and are a really nice part of the experience. We visit now with children and dogs and find it perfectly suited for that, too. We realize (from experience) that very few guests use the pool but it is MASSIVE and clear and our kids look forward to it as soon as they wake up (and as soon as we get home) during our stay. They provide additional, larger towels for use and have plenty of comfy chairs when not swimming. The grounds have a number of lawn games and a BBQ grill and great space for walking the dogs. The trail to Little Moose Mountain is immediately next door to the inn. We never had time to explore it until this trip and what fools we are for waiting! The hiking is easy enough for kids (and dogs) with fantastic views at numerous spots. The staff continue to be incredibly friendly and were extremely attentive when we had a problem (not the fault of the inn) upon check-in. Breakfast is best enjoyed downtown, but they do have fruit boxes for the kids and coffee with some shortbread 'biscuits' for those without the time. I agree with another reviewer about this being a hidden gem and hope the secret does not get out to prevent an easy booking for us next year. Highly recommend!…
I last visited this motel with my wife in the early 2000’s. New owners (2008 I’m told), have made MASSIVE improvements, and done a great job renovating it. The room I had was very nice. The bed was super comfy, and the furniture was of a rustic theme, but looked brand new. I was very impressed. Kudos to the owners for taking a run down motel with good bones and turning it into a desirable place to spend a few days! I would definitely stay here again.
We had a delayed flight and arrival late in the evening. The staff contacted us while we were on the road to let us know how they would handle our check-in. This is one of the quietest places we have stayed, which was amazing after a long trip. The room decor was suited to the area and the room was cleaned well! No issues and would love to come back for a winter stay sometime!
Where do I even begin? The mattress, which collapsed under the weight of a 150-pound man, the constant conversation and slamming of the door from the office below my room, or the unrelenting stench of mold, which was clearly painted over, bathtub included. So, if you want to lose money while also feeling like your health has been harmed by black mold, the Moose Mountain Inn is the place for you.
Their excuse was it “always smells this way.” They had one room left because someone checked out early. We should have read the reviews!!!! Completely disgusting, don’t waste your money or time. The tub had a note on it that explained that it was cleaned even thought it appeared dirty! Just all around filth. The chair in the room had mildew on it.
We arrived after check-in hours and received a call telling us where we could find our key and that we could settle up in the morning hours. The room was nice and had adequate amenities. My only reason for a 4 is that our deadbolt lock was stuck, requiring my husband to crawl out a window to open the door from the outside! It was a great adventure!
We were driving around Moosehead lake and die not have lodging for the night. We arrived right after everything opened up apparently. The cabin rentals in the area have to be booked in advance and some cabins only book for a week at a time. Some were out of business, did not answer phone, etc. We were lucky to come upon the Moose Mt. inn. We got last room on ground floor. Clean, safe, well appointed and cute decorations. Gentleman at desk was super nice. 420 friendly.
