Warm and engaging staff, delicious conscious dinner and fabulous breakfast. Comfortable room, soft bed with a wonderfully warm bathroom. 1 minute from station with a 4 minute train ride into Henley. A place great for a getaway.
1930’s style inn Comfortable large bedroom Friendly efficient staff Superb freshly cooked breakfast We went to see musical at mill on sonning theatre 10 minutes drive away and this was ideal overnight stay we intend to come back both here and the theatre
We both had an exceptional time last night. Food was great and service was superb. Would certainly recommend The Baskerville and will be returning very soon.. The proprietors gave us an Anniversary card which was placed on our table. I was so surprised and we felt extremely held in high regard as customers,
Simple comfortable room, great restaurant downstairs and very good breakfast. Staff so helpful and friendly. Situated in a lovely area, walked into Henley and got train back, took 4 minutes. Would definitely recommend for a visit to Henley.
Stayed at the Baskerville for 2 nights. A great cation to explore Henley and the surrounding area... a great 3km walk into Henley taking about 45 minutes. Rooms were great, and Breakfast was REALLY good.
We were looking for a nice stopover to breakup a long drive and stayed and ate at The Baskerville. We couldn’t be happier with our choice. The room was lovely, the evening meal very good, the breakfast faultless but the highlight were all the staff who were all so nice. Definitely be back!
My wife and I stayed her at short notice for two nights when we were let down by accommodation we had booked in Henley, and we are very glad they did! The Baskerville is only a two minute walk to the station for a four minute journey into Henley. The accommodation and food were excellent with a special mention to Jerry and Cinny who made us feel very welcome. We will definitely return.
We were seated in the lovely garden which was just perfect on the hottest day of the year. The food was delicious, a smallish but really well thought out menu andefficient , friendly and relaxed service. Attention to Covid-19 guidance was good but didn’t at all impact our experience. Great atmosphere too. It was our first visit but we will be back. Thank you
The occasion was a sad one as we had been to the funeral of a great servant of Shiplake College. The Baskerville favourite for many of my era in the early 1970s, my parents and grandmother took me there for some great pub lunches and a sneaky beer. Many a Shiplake tie was cut and pinned up onto the ceiling, a half pint of bitter was the reward. I had at least three new ties cut and pinned. It was great to see the pub full. The Breakspear ale was very well kept and the buffet was excellent. Each staff member I met were very good indeed. My wife and I hope to return under happier circumstances as the menu and the food is top notch.
I was delivering some consultancy in the area and wanted a place to stay that had a bit of character. I lucked out with the Baskerville: friendly and attentive staff, beautifully prepared evening meal and fabulous breakfast (eggs royale with freshly made hollandaise sauce!)
