Upon arrival, we immediately felt welcomed. Nick was the desk clerk and he was just amazing throughout our entire stay. We had a small internet problem the first night and the staff went above and beyond measure to correct it. The hotel gave us a small discount when we checked out for our inconvenience. We stayed on the 3rd floor in a balcony room. Our view was like looking at a postcard and our room was so very comfortable. The hotel provided "real" coffee cups and glass water and wine glasses. They also provided a large bottle of water in our room and comfortable robes. The furnishings and decor was just simply perfect, mixing old world design with modern. The hotel is located in the middle of everything in Camden. We enjoyed a delicious breakfast everyday with other hotel guests and enjoyed chatting with others in the morning during coffee and breakfast. The atmosphere in the hotel was relaxed and we felt welcomed and special by the staff throughout our entire stay. Staying at 16 Bayview was a delight and a highlight of our trip to Camden.

16 Bay View was perfect for our 2 night stay in Camden. We had an ocean view room with a balcony that was perfect. Nicely decorated, it had a gas fireplace, nice traditional furniture, and a gorgeous large bathroom full of marble and a fabulous deep jetted tub for me to relax. It was wonderful! We decided on two nights here on our road trip between Boston and Bar Harbor. Originally, we were going to spend one night in Ogunquit, yet we changed our minds for a less rushed visit. We are so glad that we did. We had booked a 2-hour sail on the Schooner Surprise one afternoon, and it was beautiful. The first night, we had small plates and drinks on their rooftop bar. This was during the harvest moon. The view was incredible, as were the drinks and food. The hotel has a beautiful lobby and another small bar and small plates restaurant on the main floor named The Vintage Room. Shorts from vintage films run constantly in the evening for ambiance. Our bartender, Lacey, was both professional and very friendly. We met several locals that were so friendly and shared stories of their lives in the area. The second evening, we made an early reservation at Fresh, which is next door to the hotel. I had the best meal of my entire year here. I had a salmon dish. The chef is so talented! Overall, we absolutely loved our short stay here. From enjoying coffee on the balcony in the morning while watching boats travel in and out of the harbor to watching lobster fisherman loading up their traps, to enjoying the bars and resteraunts, we couldn't have asked for more. Every employee was great. The location is perfect in this small town. Camden truly is the jewel of Maine.

We decided to celebrate our 30th anniversary in Maine, with the first two days in Camden. 16 Bay View did not disappoint. The hotel was lovely—lots of exposed brick, comfy lobby with sofas and a fireplace, and oh my goodness the cookies! Homemade chocolate chip cookies available all day alongside coffee and tea choices as well as fruity water. The complimentary breakfast each morning was more than enough—quiche, fruit, yogurt with toppings, scones, and bagels along with juices, teas, and coffee. Our room was beautiful—3rd floor king with water views. It was cold and damp while we were there and the gas fireplace in the room was perfect. The bathroom has a huge shower, a separate huge tub, and the floor is heated! We would definitely recommend 16 Bay View to anyone wanting a quiet getaway with a luxurious feel.

Loved this hotel. I want to live here. The location was great. We got a room with a view of the water. Had 2 balconies. Could hear the “waterfall” to the left. The bed was great. Loved the fireplace as it was a tad chilly when we went. The bathroom was also great, especially liked the shower head, and the towels were the softest towels I’ve ever had. Literally everything was just top notch. Had complimentary breakfast (served buffet style) and it was perfect for what I’d want in the mornings. Had hard boiled eggs and a quiche offering, yoghurt w/granola and lots of fresh fruit offerings. As well as bagels, scones and muffins. I’d be happy with all those options everyday. Also note, we booked through hotels.com, but later found out if you book directly through the hotel’s site, the ($15) parking is free. Overall we just really loved this hotel and the vintage vibe and will be hard pressed to find a better hotel (and I’m picky about hotels, especially bathrooms), but I want to stay here again, and I want it to be available in every city/town I ever travel to (guess that means we have to come back to Camden for now).

Bad experience from the beginning. Had reserved a room with a view directly form the hotel site and paid extra for it. Nice picture of a balcony overlooking the bay. Got the second worst “view· on the first floor, looking at the alley behind the building. When I complained I was told the room had “a view” (see the contrast in the pictures).
Before leaving in the morning for a cruise around the bay I asked if we could leave the room at 12 instead at 11 and was authorized by the attendant at the front desk. At 11 I got a call from them while were on the boat telling me to leave the room. Told them I had been authorized until noon. "Oh, OK, fine". When we went back, we had been locked out of the room and there was nobody at the front desk. Kept calling the phone that had called me at the cell phone but no response. Went looking for them around the hotel and finally found one person that opened my room to get our stuff out.
But it gets worse. When I got home to check on my credit card charges, I found that I had been charged twice, once upon reservation and once upon arrival. Now disputing the charge with the credit card company.
But the room was nicely furnished, very comfortable bed for my bad back and one of the best bathrooms and shower heads ever. And the breakfast was also very nice.

This is a truly fantastic and relaxing hotel. Everyone on staff was warm and welcoming. We loved our ocean view suite (room 28) that had a great view of the harbor and the eating/shopping area nearby. I spent a lot of time on the balcony enjoying the fresh air. Rooms are beautifully decorated and the amenities were great. My wife and daughter loved the spa tub. The breakfasts each morning were fresh and we could not have asked for a more convenient location to explore the area. We will definitely be back!

16 Bayview is not just a hotel, it is a destination! We stayed for Valentine’s Day and we couldn’t have picked a more cozier or romantic spot. The staff is wonderful; you are greeted professionally and cheerfully upon arrival. All of the staff we encountered were very friendly and had a desire to make their guests’ stay perfect. The rooms are very spacious and well appointed. The bathroom is well designed, large, and has a shower to die for. Everything was incredibly clean. We cannot wait to return to our new favorite hotel!

My Husband and I decided to go to 16 Bayview for Christmas Eve. Being 2020 and not being able to gather with family we decided to get away. I found 16 Bayview through a coworker and was so happy that I did. I booked the Ocean View King Guest room through the hotel's website. The website is easy to use and informative. This is a dog friendly room. Susan at the front desk was so kind, she engaged us in great conversation and got us all set up and checked in. The room was just lovely with expensive finishes and plenty of amenities. They even had a dog bed complete with bowls, treats and bottled water for our Dachshund! The room has a fridge, Keurig, microwave etc all ticked away in a closet so it is out of view. The bathroom was lovely with a huge soaking tub that boasted tiny jets, a huge luxurious shower, double sinks and heated floors! The room was just the right size and the bed was very cozy. Cameron at night was so incredibly kind and attentive, he brought us a HDMI cable (just a side note - they have a system connected to their television that allows for HDMI, bluetooth, etc hookups so you can bring a computer and watch what you want from there. Bring a HDMI cable) and extra towels at the start of the evening. We ordered dinner in our room because we didn't want to leave. They had a lovely Chinese menu made in house and it was delicious! We ordered cocktails from the bar and they brought them right to our room. We also ordered breakfast and that was perfect as well! The quality of the food and drinks really stood out. Along with the kindness and first class service from the staff. The building itself is truly stunning with beautiful unique architecture inside and out. We did not drink or eat at the bar but we peeked inside and it was (as you could guess) absolutely lovely. The bottom line is, if you are staying in Camden this place is really worth a stay, we will definitely be returning! 5 stars.

Dear PTree034, Wow, you've been crowned our new favorite reviewer! What an incredibly thoughtful and detailed description of your fantastic experience from the moment you decided to make your reservation! A great amount of effort goes into creating a clean and comfortable stay for our guests once they've arrived, but we believe there should be an equal focus on the pre- and post- stay guest experience as well as how we may best showcase our region as a whole to our wonderful visitors. So we are very glad to hear that you found the booking process on our modern website to be intuitive, the dining options, including our cozy lounge Vintage Room, to be delicious, and the maybe not-as-recognized tech features found in each and every room at 16 Bay View such as the MediaHubs for all your entertainment needs! It was an absolute pleasure hosting you in our home in leu of the unfortunate circumstances you mention of not being able to gather with loved ones. So again I thank you for choosing us as your getaway destination, and thank you for sharing these kind words of your experience with the rest of the world! Sincerely, Cameron Butler Guest Services Manager

There isnt a pool on the property. One can request a pass for the ymca which is about 15 min walk away. They have large pool/s as well as extensive gym. 16 Bay guests use it free with pass.
Dear keng381:

This venue holds 125 and can be set in a variety of ways for a reception. The Curtis-Bok Room is a single large room that can be divided into two separate spaces, each with its own entrance. In this way, the Curtis Room may be used independently of the Bok Room, should one or both be needed for a smaller group – this flexible configuration is also ideal for larger meetings that move to break-out groups after an initial group address, and then back to the large groups for a closing. The rental fee for the Curtis-Bok Room begins at $900.00. This rate includes tables, chairs, and black and white linens.
The View:
On top of 16 Bay View, we are excited to open, for the second season, our rooftop bar The View, both to guests, the public, and to private parties. It is exciting for us to be able to offer this novel/hip/cool, and well designed, outdoor venue. The rental fee for The View begins at $2,500.00, inclusive of the bar minimum and staffing.
Vintage Room:
Our lobby lounge, Vintage Room is opulent and rich while remaining warm, welcoming and an easy in which to relax. Vintage Room holds 35 and is a perfect spot for breakfast receptions and cocktail welcome-receptions for small groups. The rental fee for Vintage Room begins at $800.00.
At the Lord Camden Inn we offer a beautiful gallery space that can hold 40. The Marianne Smith Gallery is situated on the second floor overlooking the staircase that leads up from our lobby. The rental fee for The Gallery begins at $200.00.

From “soup-to-nuts,” the staff of the Bay View Collection is fully able to cater to your individual tastes and needs, as well as to those of your guests. I would be pleased to work with you to create the reception that you see in your mind’s eye, and menu that fits your needs. Cost can be quoted to reflect your preferences.
