I love good boutique lodging, and the Towne Motel has a ton of potential, hit some high notes, and some low. The highlights: Comfortable beds Cute furnishings Fantastic Location Higher-end personal care amenities (body wash, shampoo, conditioner) Clean room The misses: Very small, dark bathroom that could use the benefit of a night light The "shared balcony" is actually the walk-way (albeit with chairs in front of the doors). Poorly stocked coffee bar (no sugar, only two creams) No charging stations (particularly of importance because the room lacked enough outlets near the bed). I think the thing that distinguishes the really excellent boutique lodging from the mediocre is attention to details, and this hit some, but lacked others.

We like Towne Motel. The room is clean and comfortable. It has a kitchen, a couch and a big skylight. The room is nicely decorated. The location is very convenient, easy to get to the town and the beach. The front desk friendly told us where to go and see. Thanks!

We love the towne motel! Just a short walk down the hill to downtown and the waterfront. Immaculate property well kept by the owners! Home baked continental breakfast is served daily. We always stay here when visiting Camden 2-3 trips per year and have not been disappointed! We highly encourage you to try this motel ❤️

We spent 3 nights at the Towne Motel and could easily have stayed much longer if so-called real life didn't intrude. The room was charming, comfortable, and full of both decorative and functional touches that made the "motel" room feel like much more than that—we particularly appreciated the plush towels and good-quality mattress (having had bad experiences with too-soft mattresses in the past). Waking up to good coffee and homemade breakfast treats was a huge gift, as was the chance (but not the requirement) to chat with visitors from all over. The location is excellent: an easy few blocks walk to town and the water. And Katja was super helpful describing other Maine spots to visit. We'll be back!

Nice little hotel located within walking distance of shopping, restaurants, and Camden Harbor. Breakfast everyday was very good and the hosts took care of anything we needed. Would definitely stay again. We really liked the location of Camden for exploring the coast.

Nice place. Warm welcome. Clean rooms. Little fridge and coffee machine in the room. Good breakfast. Very well located, walking distance to nice restaurants and boutiques and the wharf of course! We enjoyed it!

A friend and I spent two nights at this sweet motel and would definitely stay there again. It was very affordable for high season in Camden, Maine, one of the most trendy places to visit on the Maine coast. Nothing fancy, but extremely clean and comfortable. I'm particular about beds and this one was super comfy, no backaches next morning. Despite being right one Route 1, it was very quiet. Neither my friend nor I heard a bit of traffic or other guests coming or going all night. There's a nice little balcony with chairs where we spent lots of time chatting very comfortably. Homemade continental buffet breakfast in the morning is delightful - coffee is great! Shower is super - plenty of hot water and pressure. Air conditioner was totally silent and kept the humidity and temperature just right. Easy to control with in room remote. Katja and Siobhan, the host/owners, are welcoming and friendly without being overbearing. Quick and pretty walk into town where there's plenty of wonderful restaurants and shops, and the neighboorhood around them is lovely and fun to wander around. Highly recommend for a clean, comfy stay in a great location.

Towne Motel is a nice, clean and updated motel with a B&B personality including a small, delicious breakfast cooked by the owner Katja. The room was clean and comfortable. The mattress and pillows were awesome. Katja makes her own granola and breads for breakfast, and everything was delicious. There are decorative trays you can take to your room which was a special touch, or you can stay in the cozy breakfast area. The walk to Camden downtown is about 5 minutes. We arrived late because of airline changes and Katja left us all the information we needed about our room and the hotel. I would highly recommend Towne Motel. Thank Katja and team for a GREAT stay.

Siobhan and Katja are the best hosts anyone could hope for. They are very helpful in every way, from directions to restaurants and attractions to making the best baked goodies for breakfast. We particularly like that every year (we have been coming there at least 2-3 times a year for six plus years) they make improvements and upgrades to0 all the rooms so each stay there is better than the last. The place is the best combination of a traditional motel and a B&B: Guests get a private room with an exterior entrance and an ensuite like a regular motel plus they have a wonderful breakfast that you can have there in their dining room or take back to your room. In the "quiet season" as they call it they even will put your breakfast in a basket and hang it on the doorknob of your room the night before!!! And of course all the usual amenities one might expect from a much pricier place are there , at a surprisingly reasonable cost-wi-fi, heat, AC (very quiet heat pump splits), coffee makers, refrigerators, and everything is extremely clean and well-maintained. For us, the best part is that you can park your car near your room and just walk to everything in Camden, a beautiful and compact walking-friendly town. Our favorite place to stay anywhere on the Maine coast.

This was our first ever stay in a motel and what a lovely choice it was. We booked directly and received prompt confirmation. Check in was very smooth. Our room was cute, clean and comfortable. The owners clearly take pride in their establishment. The motel is a very short walk from the town centre. We would definitely stay here again and would recommend it to others.

Room Tip: Camden is a lovely town, but pretty much everything closes down at 9:00pm. Never figured out why....
