The jewel of Midcoast Maine, Whitehall's reimagined look embraces the history of this iconic property, but also brings new focus on the natural beauty of Camden - the town where "the mountains meet the sea." Whitehall is an ideal spring, summer, and early fall destination for those in search of an artisanal, authentic Maine experience. The property boasts rambling front porches and a patio perfect for enjoying a glass of wine or fresh lemonade and fire pit for late-night hangouts.

We spent 4 nights at Whitehall. The inn is furnished with unique & fun decor. The lobby area is spacious and the front porch is too. Sitting around the (gas) fire was a nice end to the day. We felt the website photos were a tad misleading as if the inn was very recently updated. However, there were a few areas that looked tired & in need of touch up or updating. The young lady who checked us in was very friendly and was able to accommodate us when we asked for a different room. The first room felt old and not very comfortable with bathroom looking dingy. The second room was much better. The bathroom albeit tiny with no place to set anything at least was clean & appeared to have new shower curtain. Its always nice to have the mini fridge in the room too. The welcome bag with snacks from local stores was a nice touch (maybe because we are Lark members? ) The lobby had coffee ready by 6:00am and also available in the evening along with cookies in late afternoon. When we stayed in September there was no restaurant, but they offered beer and wine for happy hour(fee). The breakfast options were few but tasty. Loved the different scones they served each day. My husband loved the oats & the egg items. We wished they had had other snack or appetizers available at the hotel as getting into local restaurants was a challenge. It was a short walk to town which was handy as opposed to trying to find parking in town. Upon check-out they gave us a $30 gift card towards another Lark stay which came in handy as we were headed to a Lark hotel in Stowe, which for the record was not quite as nice as the Whitehall. The staff at Whitehall were friendly and enforced the mask wearing within the Inn. Overall, we enjoyed our stay at the Whitehall Inn.

A must stay when you are in Camden. The staff is SO VERY MUCH nice, competent and absolutely top professional. The hotel is very very nice with fun design furniture. We didn’t have meals there (during Covid-19) but had breakfast everyday. Super tasty and the staff even made again delicious croissants again just for us because we loved them so much. High touch service. Highly recommended.

Whitehall is a classic New England Inn renovated with a modern twist in its furnishings and decor giving a feel of a boutique hotel. Staff was very accommodating and friendly. Rooms can be a little tight but have to expect that in an older inn. Beds and bedding very comfortable and rooms were clean upon arrival. Getting a little worn in spots in the public areas. Given Covid masks are required in all public inside spaces at this time. Fantastic coffee available all day. But the small plate breakfasts leave an opportunities for improvement: Could use more Accompaniments to baked goods such as jam or butter, more baked goods and perhaps larger portions given the room pricing. We were return guests from a while back and were disappointed to find out that the restaurant and bar were closed resulting in a lack of energy. These are tough times for hospitality industry but highly recommend that the Lark hotel group reopen a restaurant and bar next season. Needs some life! All in all a great stay and look forward to returning.

The Whitehall is so pretty from the outside with it's great sprawling front porch to relax on as well as plenty of other outdoor seating around fireplaces. We enjoyed bringing a bottle of wine out there and relaxing. The inside is beautifully decorated in fun and upbeat contemporary yet homey decor. There is a large former restaurant area that is no longer in operation that is used for serving breakfast in the morning. Staff was very friendly and helpful with any questions we had. The room was very cute, but our issue was that the bathroom and bedroom area were quite small and did not have any place to put your things. I had all of my toiletries on the bathroom floor as the pedestal sink was the only surface. If you like a good bathroom space while traveling this was tough. There was a small refrigerator in the closet which was handy. Location was very good with only a short 10 minute walk to town.

We loved the old time charm coupled with the updated decor that the Lark chain has added. The outdoor spaces were wonderful as was the “small plates” breakfast. Also a big shoutout to the staff who were friendly, helpful and made sure we had everything needed for a great visit to Camden. We would definitely stay again on a future visit to Maine.
