Decent location right on Route One, but didn’t have to listen to traffic as we were placed in the rear of the building. Room was clean, with microwave and fridge. Bathroom was very clean, good water pressure in the shower (you never know in Maine) and the towels were soft and fluffy (yay!). Obviously a local place, with no overnight staffing, so don’t come after 9 PM expecting the office to be open. Fee for our dog was only $20, and there was a nice area to walk her out back. Given how few the options are in Bucksport, this was a welcome surprise.

Thank you very much for your review, we appreciate your stay and you noticing the hard work that goes into maintaining a motel of this age. Our cleaning staff is the best around and we love when people notice. We hope that you will come stay again. Greg and Rita

We were looking for lodging near Acadia NP that was nice & a good value. WOW, how lucky to find Bucksport Inn! Great & efficient front desk staff that were helpful too. First checkin we stayed in room 1, a king bed. The room was nice for 2 adults. The bathroom had a recent remodel, offered plenty of hot water. Refrig, microwave, coffee maker, tea bags all in room. 2 chairs & a small table outside each room. We met a couple from KY in the room next to us and we all sat outside and chatted for 2 hours while sipping wine. 🍷Fun. The Inn sits off the road, however we did not hear the traffic. No bfast in the morning, however there is a Dunking Donuts right next door. Both mornings the outdoor maintenance man was insuring the property was clean and picked up. We chatted a bit, nice fellow. You will be pleased by your stay. We were so pleased, we checked in again for a 2nd night due to a hotel issue that had us searching for lodging.

The Bucksport Inn is a little gem in a beautiful town. Our room was pristinely clean and the owners and staff were exceedingly pleasant and helpful. There were several interesting attractions five minutes down the road like the Penobscot Narrows observation tower and Fort Knox, and of course the pretty foliage! There was a river walk a few minutes away to have a stroll by the water’s edge. We could not have been happier with our stay. We will be back!

This place is very clean and well maintained. Beds are comfortable. Rooms are a nice size. The owner obviously cares about the Inn and keeps it attractive. There is a bit of noise from the upper units if you are staying on the back side of the inn. The staff were friendly and helpful. It is walking distance to restaurants, a river walking path, a grocery store, etc.

This little hidden gem is quite the place!! The couple that owns it now has had this establishment for two months. Very accommodating and friendly owners; they even let us charge our car. Our room is absolutely spotless, uber clean, comfortable; you couldn’t ask for a nicer room. I’m soooo happy I chose and made a reservation for this establishment over a month ago. Very early 60’s feel and simply charming. You won’t be disappointed.

Room Tip: I think people should stay away from Bar Harbor and drive the few extra miles to stay here. B.H....

We stopped in a last ditch effort to find a place to stay for the night when everything else had no vacancy. It was unexpectedly nice. It is fresh and clean and updated and smells good and we had a wonderful stay. Had to call the front desk for a hair dryer but they brought it to my room promptly.

We stayed at this hotel while visiting Maine. Since we decided late about taking this vacation, most hotels that are dog friendly close to Arcadia & Bar Harbor were booked. It is a hour drive each way, which was not a problem, because the drive is beautiful. The hotel is very clean and the price was very good. The issue is they have lights on outside all night and the curtain on the door is very thin, also the air conditioner is a window unit so we couldn't close the curtains, so the room is not dark. The main ISSUE is room noise, it was unbelievable, it sounded like the people in the room above us were moving furniture. The 1st night it was midnight till it got quiet, 2nd night it was 10 and last night 9. If you stay here make sure you book a top room if you can.
