My wife and I stayed here in July. Neat old building with a bar on site (strong drinks). Easy walking to downtown and all the shops. There is a restaurant on site , however we ate in downtown both nights. There breakfasts were great. Lobster Benedict one morning and a great omelet the next. If you have trouble with stairs... 'Historical Inn' can be a bit of a mixed blessing. It could be an old building, full of charm, lovingly maintained by its owners. Or it could be an excuse for letting the building take care of itself. The Thistle felt like it was tending towards the latter just a little too much for comfort. The place certainly needed a... We stayed at the Thistle Inn in May as well as 6 days ago. Our stay at the Inn both times was enjoyable and relaxing. The rooms are lovely and spacious. We were lucky to have had pleasantly cool days and nights( I am not a fan of hot weather). The beds were comfortable and the bathroom was modern and... More

We arrived to check-in and couldn't park. The parking area for the inn is small and customers from the restaurant/bar park there too. We were told we arrived at "happy hour". The street has limited temporary parking and tow signs all around. So we left for dinner and returned to try again. It took three hours before we could park... More

Breakfast - scorched scrambled eggs; burnt rye toast and half burned/half uncooked bacon. No jelly and no orange juice. 1 bottle of ketchup to share among 5 tables. Was Told chef might not make it for breakfast next day so might want to make other plans (breakfast was supposed to be included). Guests quizzed on whether we wanted maid service.... More

This was our first trip to The Thistle Inn for dinner. When in Boothbay Harbor in the summer we have gravitated to the places with outside seating, but this time a rainy, cold night made dining inside sound like a great idea. What a find! The atmosphere is lovely, the fire warm and cozy and the food was very good.... More

Each year I stay here at least 2 times and then always complete the visit with dinner. I have never been disappointed in both the quality of the food and the excellent staff. The Thistle Inn continues to evolve their menu and keep a very robust wine list. Congrats to Max and Jen for keeping this BB and restaurant top... More

Stayed in the American Eagle room during the offseason, meaning had good rate but without breakfast. Room was large with a comfortable bed. Inn is attached to a restaurant, and aromas can be sensed in the room. Location is convenient to restaurants in town.

We ate dinner at the Thistle Inn and it was great. The fish was fresh and the pork chop was so tender and juicy. The portions were just right and the atmosphere was cozy. It is a nice place to relax and have great food. We did not stay at this Inn we just had dinner there

I just checked out after a fabulous 5 night stay and I'm so sad to leave! The Inn is so intimate and quiet, I felt right at home immediately. We had a room that overlooked the outside dining area which was nice to see on the nights that we didn't eat there ourselves! The room was beautiful and very comfortable.... More
