We made reservations here after having it recommended by the owner of an inn in Castine that wasn't open yet for guests. Site and reviews unseen, we booked a room for ourselves and one of our teenage children. Duncan asked us if we wanted dinner reservations and we decided to try it. Upon arrival at the inn, there were no...

Dear Grumpyandtheoldlady, Thank you so much for your thoughtful and thorough review. We greatly appreciate it and are so glad you enjoyed your stay and dinner with us so much. We do hope to have you with us again soon. In addition to our cafe-style dining offered in our Petit Bistro in the off-season, in the summer months, we offer...

This bed and breakfast looks lovely. When we tried to register, they only had the two most expensive rooms left. It was a weekend, so that's probably no surprise. Our fault for not planning ahead. Both of the available rooms were over $250 a night. I asked the gentleman providing this information for another recommendation in the area, as we...

A great inn made even better by the staff who are very helpful and friendly. The rooms are very clean and comfortable. This is an old building so some steps are steep but we were helped with luggage. An attractive buffet of horsdoeuvres is served at 6 nightly. These were delicious. A breakfast is served daily in an attractive dining...

My wife and I just spent two evenings at the inn. Our stay in the Blue Hill area was enhanced by our choice of this inn. Duncan and Chris were perfect hosts and helped make our stay there memorable. Anyone thinking about staying at this inn should have no reservations about doing so.

I have traveled a lot, domestically and internationally. This is the first time I've ever felt compelled to leave a review! Duncan and the staff at Blue Hill Inn have much to be proud of. Accommodations are great, food superb, but the service is EXCEPTIONAL! Enjoy your stay, you'll want to write a review!

My wife and I recently stayed at Blue Hill Inn while on a trip through the Bar Harbor area of Maine. Blue Hill Inn is a wonderful, historic Inn which has been maintained in excellent condition and provides travellers with a welcoming and comfortable stay in this pretty part of Maine. The Innkeeper, Duncan Hamilton, was very pleasant, welcoming and...

We stayed in room 8 for 4 nights. We found the room charming and the bed really comfy. My husband is missing the wonderful pillows! I believe room 8 is above the kitchen but unlike the previous review from Sleepless in Blueberryland we had no problem with noise or smells. I did get a whiff of coffee first thing in...

It is terribly unfair to give this quaint and delightful inn a poor rating, so we won`t. It`s just that we slept very badly due to the room being situated above the kitchen or very near to it, so that even with windows closed and curtains drawn, dinner smells permeated the room throughout the night. And just around 5 AM,...

It would be difficult to overstate how delightful it is to stay here. The inn is authentically historic, unlike those places that call themselves "historic" but have been gutted to accommodate cathedral ceilings & large-screen TVs. At the Blue Hill Inn you'll find wide, pumpkin-pine floors, antiques, & period decor, along with up-to-date bathrooms & speedy wi-fi. But it's the...
