#1 of 8 B&Bs / Inns in Belfast
Lovely Queen Anne Victorian bed & breakfast in the heart of Belfast's historic district on quiet side street, a block from Penobscot Bay. Stroll to historic Main Street shops, harbor, cafes, galleries, theaters, and parks. Named for the stain glass turret that encases the oak spiraling staircase. Lounge on one of our two columned verandas with wicker porch furniture, bistro sets and porch swing overlooking beautiful gardens and historic homes. Ornate woodwork, fireplaces, antiques, and Victorian decor add to the magic of The Jeweled Turret Inn. Seven romantic luxury guest chambers with A/C and fans, 4-poster, iron & brass beds, private baths with "English Spa" toiletries; some with turrets, fireplaces, whirlpools. Gourmet breakfasts, refreshments, evening crackers, cheese, sherry. Day trips to Acadia National Park, lighthouses, islands, breath-taking sailing cruises. "Smell the sea air; explore the beauty of coast and islands... visit the charms of historic Belfast, Maine!"

The breakfast was delicious. I was so excited about the food because the reviews all raved about it, and when I'm on vacation I like to eat! However, I was a little disappointed to learn upon arrival that breakfast was served in groupings at only 9 and 10 am. Being an early riser, and used to places serving breakfast starting at 7 am, I was unhappy to miss breakfast due to our plans starting at 9. But there was a delicious baked pear and a frittata on our final day. When we arrived, our meeting was brief with the innkeeper and not super inviting. But I did enjoy the sherry. My husband and I had pretty weird vibes the whole time and there were weird screeching sounds all night. Maybe haunted, maybe pipes? But maybe not a great idea to have a bed against the thin wall to the house entrance. Bed was comfortable eventhough it was small ( a full or double sized bed I think). Like many of the other reviews mention, yes, this place is cluttered. There are very cool antiques around, but maybe they are more fitting for a museum or like in a designated area, because there was definitely not enough room for our own stuff. Also! Omg, I get that this place is supposed exude a different time period, but having a painting in our room depicting a white Victorian family on vacation with their black slave handing them their wears is ABSOLUTELY in poor taste given that we're in the year 2021. Being the only non white person staying at the bnb during our time there while sleeping under such an appalling painting gave me vibes straight out of the movie Get Out. On top of that, we spent the whole first day out and about because we didn't like the vibes in the house, but when we got back it was VERY apparent that someone had been in our room "tidying" up. Hotels don't even do that unless you request it, especially since covid and especially after having only been there one night. Maybe they thought we stole the sherry glasses because I didn't know where to leave it so I put them against the writing desk (which ironically had so much stuff on it you couldn't even sit and write). When we left, I made sure to hand the owner our room key while she was tidying up after breakfast, my husband standing behind me. 2 hours later I got a phone call saying they can't find my key, as if accusing me of not returning it. I said, "well, I don't know why you wouldn't be able to find it since I put it right in your hand after breakfast", and instead of an apology or thank you she says "oh it's on the buffet. Nevermind, bye". Honestly, probably one of the worst stays I've ever been to, following closely behind the murder Days Inn near Chincoteague where we couldn't decide if there was crap or blood on the wall. We definitely will not be going back, although I have to say, I will stop in Belfast some other time to eat at Darbys (that place is *chef kiss*). I'm really surprised no one else has mentioned that awful painting.

The Inn is immaculate, the beds comfy, the food very good, the location excellent. Belfast is a lovely little town. The Inn is located within walking distance to parks, restaurants, and shopping. The atmosphere in the Inn is warm and welcoming. Cathy and Carl have a lot of interesting items throughout the house which I found fun and enjoyable. During Covid we have stayed at other B&B's that were sparse supposedly due to cleaning issues etc., during the pandemic. Not the case here, yet the entire Inn was very clean and shiny. We stayed in the upstairs turret room, which is a large room, very comfortable, but the bathroom is behind a curtain which is a bit disconcerting.

The place is certainly historic with lots of charm! Carl gave us the tour and we were in awe! The history of the fireplace was the best! It was super clean, and the hosts could not have been more kind! We stayed in the Topaz Room and it was amazing. The bed was so comfortable and the linen smelled so fresh , and was so soft! They did an amazing job making us feel welcome. The breakfast was delicious, we ate on the veranda and it was so peaceful. I wish I could give more than 5 stars. If you are in Belfast, you must stay at the Jeweled Turret Inn!

Comfortable rooms (we stayed in the Topaz turret), great Victorian feel, and fantastic breakfast. Easy walking distance to town, harbor, parks, restaurants, and walking/running trails, but no noise or bright lights at night. Will visit again for sure!

Beautiful bed and breakfast with history and clean accommodations. We Stayed in a lot of bed and breakfasts in Maine and this was pretty good. Bedding was clean and towels were fresh. House is very pretty and well restored by the hosts/ owners. BUT if you have a problem with clutter- don’t stay here because you will have a nervous breakdown. At every turn, is another grouping of useless clutter - a group of colored glass bottles, an old dress and shoes, tea sets, flower vases, and all the furniture is from another century so extremely uncomfortable and unattractive. Likely next owners will clean it out and modernize the look so that you can actually see the house and it’s noteworthy and beautiful details rather than the stuff in every crevice and corner. Shame you cannot appreciate the structure and beauty of the house with the distractions of the clutter. Breakfast is prepared and no choice of main dish.
