We have stayed at the Seascape many times over the years. The new owners, Molley and Alex are great host, and they have made some great improvements to the property. They will not hesitate to sit down and chat with guest - they are very personable and make you feel right at home. The rooms and cottages are very clean and well kept. The motel is right on US Route #1 with a gorgeous view of Penobscot Bay and is only 3 miles from downtown Belfast. The pool & hot tub area are also very clean and well maintained. They have added a great little store at the office with some food items, ice cream, etc. Great place for a family vacation or even just passing through. Very reasonable rates.
A friend and I stayed in a studio cottage for 4 days to attend a knitting retreat at a campground a short distance away. We were completely comfortable and actually delighted at how thoughtfully it has been updated by new owners. I'd stay here again in a heartbeat if I found myself in this area again.
We stayed 6 nights in a one bedroom cottage (in late June) that was spotless and extremely functional. The cottage had a full kitchen, living room, full bath a large bedroom with two double beds and a deck with a distant view of the bay. The full kitchen was a important to us, because it enabled us to save time and money and be COVID safe. The pool is large considering the number of units available at the property; a big plus for families. The pool and the hot tub were meticulously cleaned and maintained daily by the owner. The property is on the west side of busy Route 1 but most units have a bay view across the road and through the trees. The location is convenient to Belfast, Fort Knox, Searsport, Castine and a little over an hour from Acadia National Park. You would be hard pressed to find better accommodations in Belfast for the price!…
First of all, Chris was very nice; check-in was flawless. Everything about this place is clean…and I mean REALLY clean. The room, the grounds, the pool, the office, etc. were about as clean as it gets. It’s obvious these folks really care about their place. We stayed in the motel section; room 2, to be exact. The size of the rooms has been discussed in other reviews, and yes, our room was small (about 10 or 12ft. square), and the bathroom was tiny. It is what it is…after all, this is an old roadside motel that’s been lovingly refurbished; you’re not going to find grand atriums or massive rooms with giant bathrooms. The décor of the room was pleasant, modern and fresh, and the bed was pretty comfortable with nice bed linen. The main issue was with the A/C. The unit would power down after about 10 minutes. I don’t mean the thermostat kicked off when it reached a certain temperature; it actually powered off. I found myself having to constantly turn it back on every 10 minutes or so. I did this until we finally fell asleep, but it was a bit of a pain. I was going to mention it the next morning, but we left fairly early and the office was closed. Location is ideal. It’s just a few miles from Belfast, and it has a nice view of the water; albeit over the top of a building. With the exception of the A/C snafu, everything was fine. That said, it’s a typical roadside motel experience; nothing incredible, but nothing really horrible, either. The saving grace for us was how clean everything was, but that should be the case no matter where you stay.…
My wife and I loved this place and the hospitality is great!,Chris will help you in anyway he can he knows the area very well. This was a great central location for us only A little over an hour to Acadia national Park Only about an hour to Owls head Lighthouse and Marshall point lighthouse Great antique shopping Flea market in Searsport only a couple miles away. Penobscot bridge and observatory and Fort Knox probably about 20 minutes away. Bangor is only a little over 30 minutes. And Belfast is a great town with a great lobster pound and a great harbor to spend some time walking. The cottage is small but it is laid out in a way that makes it feel big for a couple. King bed was nice and comfortable there was placed for our CPAP machines on both sides of the bed the kitchen was fully stocked we made breakfast every morning. There is also a recliner and two chairs and a bar to sit at to eat-the bathroom Bath and shower we’re great! very clean!! nothing to complain about at all! The front porch is very nice there is a picnic table and an outside charcoal grill and you do have a view of the bay at a distance. I don’t know what more to say, but I know we will be back there very soon I am going to post a picture of the view from the porch and a couple pictures of the room. please note these pictures were when we were leaving not when we arrived. thanks Chris a great establishment kudos to you and your hospitality…
Just stayed 4 days in a cottage at this great place . So so clean , comfortable and had everything needed . View from our cottage was beautiful. Every cottage has a porch and chairs . It was chilly outside but the gas heater was great . Plenty of hot water .
The first thing that struck me about this place is how incredibly clean the cottage was. My wife and I had a studio cottage and we were truly impressed with how well taken care of it was. The cottage itself had everything we needed for a weekend getaway. The location is great - close to the water (right across the street) and close enough to downtown Belfast that a short 5 minute drive had us feeling like we were right next door. Good wifi, decent cold breakfast, and my wife loved the coffee. The shower pressure and temperature was a little touch and go, but not a big deal. Definitely recommended!
We were very happy with our stay at the Seascape. We stayed in one of the cottages with 2 beds and kitchen with a dining area. The beds were very comfortable; both of us slept really well. I loved the recliner for reading and watching tv! We only used the refrigerator, but if I were to come back for a longer visit, I would stay here again and use the kitchen to make some meals. It is 2 miles from Belfast center. It is very clean, the people working here are nice, and the pool looks great. Breakfast is muffins, fruit and coffee or tea - just as they advertise. The price is affordable. The bay is across the street and a lot of the cottages have a nice view. It is on Route 1, which is a busy road; we shut the windows at night and that lessened the traffic sounds. Overall, a nice place, at a reasonable price; I would stay here again.…
A 1 night layover and we were very happy. The room although smaller than others was more than adequate and bed was very comfortable and as the title say the place was spotless. I will use this place again.
We found the seascape motel very clean and very neat. Although the rooms aren’t huge they’re more than adequate for two people. There is a very limited breakfast coffee and buns so if you’re looking for more to eat just go back to Belfast where there are quite a few restaurants. If you’re looking for something on the lower budget around $150 mark this one is cool
