I had low expectations of a place with a room the next day on a July weekend but we were in need. I should not have worried. The room was spotless and the beds comfortable with perfectly nice sheets. After a good sleep we were set to get on the road home. The location is perfect. We enjoyed excellent takeout from the Thai place on same side of the highway back towards Searsport. Very fresh and certainly convenient.
DON'T stay here, if you're a 5-star snob expecting concierge service and breakfast mimosas in bed. DO stay here if you're looking for a comfortable bed in the CLEANEST hotel/motel room you have ever experienced. This place is clearly old, but the owners have kept it up great. The rooms (at least ours) have recent paint, and laminate fllors. The bathroom is all ceramic tiled and nice, though small. What really knocked me over is how CLEAN the room was!! I mean, it was like "we're trying to hide a murder" clean. Mr. Monk would definitely approve! The bedding was crisp and clean and had no holes too. This was definitely not expected at its "budget" price.
Perfect place to stay as our family was visiting Maine to tour Maine Maritime. Our family will stay here if we ever find ourselves in Maine again. Very clean, friendly service, easy to access. Like new. Has microwave, coffee maker, cups, tea, refrigerator, towels, soaps, shampoos, hairdryer. Friendly service. After we checked out, we stopped at Mainely Pizza in Montville for a delicious, affordable, homemade breakfast that kept our family satisfied until afternoon. Has gluten free options as well as homemade baked goods. Giant oatmeal raisin cookies and fresh local coffee.
My wife and I stayed at the Yankee Clipper during the Colby College parents weekend. We were not able to find a place closer to Waterville and stumbled on this gem. Extremely neat and clean, and close to the Harbor in Belfast. Great walking path along the harbor and an amazing dinner at the Nautilus restaurant. Great alternative to staying at one of the name brand hotels in Augusta.
We spent one night here on our New England road trip. It is not a chain, so it was our most reasonably priced hotel. We had two rooms for our group of 5. The gentleman at the front desk was extremely pleasant when he checked us in. Everything is on one floor and you park right in front of your room. This is very convenient. The rooms are updated and very clean. No yucky carpeting. Each room had a microwave and a fridge. The bedding and towels were clean. The rooms were exactly as they are pictured on the website. There is a laundry on-site which we used. The front desk was able to give me quarters. Washer and dryer were each $2. The dryer gave you 45 minutes so it was not necessary to purchase extra time. You can even buy a Tide pod at the front desk. Breakfast is not included. But that's okay. Right down the street is a mini-mart and that worked for us. The location was convenient. We would definitely stay here again if we…
A gem. This is a 1950 style motel which has been completed remodeled. Set back from Rt 1 and we were not disturbed by any traffic noise. Beautifully redone with hardwood flooring, which is so much cleaner feeling than carpeting. We had a king bed room which was extremely comfortable. There is a huge advantage to being able to park right in front of your room. We loved our night here and would highly recommend it to anyone passing through the area. Young’s Lobster Pound, which is also highly rated, is directly across the street. Be sure and go there for the lobster.
What a great place! Came for 1 night and stayed 3. The manager even made a couple of calls to arrange for us to be able to have the same room all 3 nights and not have to check out in between. Everyone was very friendly and helpful. Room was very clean and had everything we needed. Plenty of great restaurants and bars nearby. We will be back!
Location is convenient. This one story motel is right off the road and quiet. Check in was quick and checkout is easy, just leave key in room. Updated bathroom. Everything very clean. We especially liked the mini kitchen. In one area is the microwave, coffee maker and even a roll of paper towels on a counter where is was easy to prepare a simple breakfast and lunch to take with us. Below the counter is the refrigerator and an open space for our supplies. We would definitely recommend this motel.
This motel is right off Hwy 1. If you have trouble sleeping, bring ear plugs because the rooms are very nice. Bed is comfortable. It was a great surprise to open our door to a remodeled room. Off season. Motel seemed full. Only stayed one night. Would stay here again!
We really liked our stay at the Yankee Clipper. The front desk gentleman was so helpful with suggestions for dining and got extra quarters for me when I needed them for the laundry. Our room was clean with comfortable beds and roomy. Conveniently located off the highway, we didn't notice much noise. Plenty of parking and able to park in front of our room. Laundry room was clean and the washer/dryer efficient. I had the opportunity to talk to the housekeeping staff and they were friendly and helpful too with smiles on their faces. If the opportunity ever arises again, I wouldn't hesitate to stay here or recommend to our friends.
