We highly recommend the Black Cow. On a cold December day it was warm and inviting. The food and coffee were excellent. The service was friendly and very efficient. We will encourage family, friends and visitors to our holiday let to visit and we will definitely return.

We visited for the first time a many years and was very happy with what looked to be a recently renovated place. Friendly staff and a nice selection of food and drink. We had various sandwiches which were good value for money and the atmosphere was enjoyable. We took our 2 year old and he was content with the standard...

Visited this place for a meal with my girlfriend's family. 2 of the family members were staying in the hotel, visiting Derby. From the outside, the pub is lovely. Looks nice and clean. Just a good country pub. Inside the story is the same. Good. We then ordered drinks from the bar, which took a long time. The girl behind...

I needed a room for the night up north before a meeting the next day and looked online. After looking at a few comparison sites I found The Black Cow. I arrived quite late, about 9.30pm, after a 3 hour journey and was greeted very politely. Nothing was too much hassle, Mandy was very hospitable. They had a good range...
