Travelled here with family and just returned a while ago. The place is just far enough, to get the out of city feel without taking much time to reach there. If you want a buffet meal + luxuries + everything to be ooh la la, then don't come here. We came for the nature sounds, the orchestra of insects, the clean pure air and must say we're not disappointed. The rooms are well maintained, a/c and geyser both work. Good night and Coil are both provided with fresh towels and sheets each day. They have power back up as well. Thanks to Trip Advisor we read some reviews and responses so kinda knew what to expect. I was proactive and spoke about meal options upfront on check-in day. Claude and Tony both were courteous and accomodating for every request I had, and that's not very easy considering most of our preferences were for our 2 year old baby. All the staff were super helpful, did not frown even once when something was spilt or dropped, or if baby was running all over or crying. We were given options for less spicy food and alternate dessert options. The egg curry meal served for lunch was average but the fried fish covered up. Chicken curry at night was better than what I make at home so full points there. Both bhakri and chapati are soft but goes best with rice for us. Next day we had Rawas curry which was also good and chicken fry for dinner. All in all the food was way better that we expected and freshly prepared. For the ones who have read bad things about the food, I don't know what they expected. The options are limited, but are enough to satiate ones needs. They have atleast 5/6 items for a meal + dessert.

All in all a good break from our life in the fast lane...

This was the second time i visited this resort. Recently I visited this resort on the 4th June 2022 with my wife and 17 months old kid. It was a great experience, I had booked Maple room no. 25 and it was awesome it had an individual gallery and was located on the first floor, entire room was clean, luxurious and comfortable felt very peaceful and close to nature. The staff here is extremely polite and helpful. The food provided here was very tasty and the food menu had variety of items both veg & non veg, it was just like homemade food. Since we had our 17 months old kid they also gave us liberty to cook his meals in their kitchen they also assisted with all the requirements which was really great. The resort has swimming pool, fish pond, ducks, rabbits, birds, etc. which was very nice and entertaining. Overall our stay was very comfortable and peaceful. Would certainly visit again and will also recommend it to family and friends.

Far away yet so near to the city lies this wonderful hidden village, which is more like a jungle with all kinds of modern amenities in spacious rooms with delicious unlimited authentic local food.
Topography of the land is beautifully used to construct several cottages for all kind of groups, couples, families with complete privacy for each and every cottage. All cottages have a spacious sitout area and deluxe cottages have bath tubs and premium houses have a huge outdoor bathtub with hot water, basin, side stand,teapoy- chairs and a nylon bed complete with fan.Even the sit out area is fitted with enough lights and a fan as the place can make you sweaty akin to a rainforest.Soap and shampoo only is provided. The AC rooms are quite spacious with big bed, chairs, sofas, small wardrobe mini fridge etc.
Man made waterfall has been cleverly designed and offers a great experience along with kids play room and outdoor area, swimming pool etc.Actually the entire resort offers a great experience in terms of rustic and natural set up.
For me the highlight was tasty local food served in a semi buffet fashion with different varieties of veg and non veg .I was pleased have my request to provide baajri bhakri promptly.
The staff is cordial helpful and decent.
Price wise this is 200% value for money.
Everything was perfect however I would like to suggest two improvements, like 1)Provide Tea/Coffee set inside the room.2)Have a bellboy for luggage during check-in and checkout
Rest assured we will visit again and again and again.....

Room was not up to date, food was pathetic, property not maintained at all, getting static current (shock) while using bathroom.

We reached by 12 o’clock and immediately we got the room and got entered in room then here it is start 1) Tv was not working due to dish tv package was expired. 2) Fridge was not working 3) While having lunch we got only egg curry along with rice and bhakari and one fish fry and other people was having chicken so why there was a difference? I directly went to food counter and asked why didn’t you give us chicken curry? The answer was horrible - they said apka one night stay hai to chicken curry apko dinner me rehega abhi sirf apko egg curry hai. I said wtf?? you have not mentioned such kind of terms n condition.
This is it about hidden village, So think once if you planning to book.

Reviews help course correction, especially negative ones, but this one appears like penned by a very unhappy person. Whose expectations were not met, right from the start, hence this sulk on trip advisor. After going through the review, I feel H Village was not an ideal resort for Viraj. Now going to the issues raised. Room being up to date, probably was expecting a ¾ star hotel room in a village setup. Calling food pathetic is also very uncalled for, we have a constant feedback on this issue, and I am very satisfied with what is cooked, so what was Viraj actually looking for? I feel a grand indoor buffet like in a banquet hall. The best part of the property is not food or room (still it is as per plan and pricing), it is the outdoors. Who hasn’t experienced static current once in a while, which is a natural phenomenon on cold and metallic surface some time door handles, car handles and other surfaces. This week we like the rest of Maharashtra suffered from heavy record breaking rains, which was unrelenting, and every one suffered especially villages. After two lockdowns life is a bit uncertain, when we will go into a third lockdown again no one knows, hence we deferred buying a 3, 6 or 12 month Dth packages for TVs. Once one is checking in we charge the set-top box and lo the TV is on. Fridge if not working it is replaced; we wonder how true this charge was. Our meal concept is very simple. Viraj was an overnight visitor my guess, as fish and egg curry is a part of non-veg food during lunch and chicken curry is part of the dinner menu, which he got, but doesn’t make a mention. The people who are given chicken for lunch are the Day Visitors who check out by 6 pm and so aren’t there for dinner. We have this in Menu so the overnight guest doesn’t get a repeat of chicken at dinner time. We have a board above the buffet table, asking take a second and third helping if you need, but don’t waste food. Viraj should have asked for more fish if he needed, this is not something to complain about. And if one doesn’t like the fish and egg curry and prefer chicken curry, it certainly is served it’s a norm. While on this topic let explain further. The people who stay for two days are served Mutton curry on the 2nd day for lunch and chicken different style for dinner; those who stay the third day get any food as per their choice Chinese as well as part of the package. This happens routinely. The boys did explain the menu plan, but if done with little finesse, would have been right, plain talking sound crude in hotel industry, I do agree. At the same time their sincerity in providing service is excellent as observed by other visitors and is under constant supervision. Don’t bottle up minor difficulties or discomfort or misunderstanding, ensure its resolved there and there, that should be ones attitude when on a holiday..Going to enjoy a holiday make sure you enjoy one, issues should be sorted out with Management who are always around.

Good outing for a one day trip. Nice getaway specially in Monsoon period. Accommodation is more like a home stay but all basics available. Food is homely. Has some birds to give a village feel however not comparable to a petting zoo. Senior citizens who have difficulty in walking this place is suitable to visit.

This place is an oasis away from the bustling city. True to its name. Staff are kind, polite and very helpful. The rooms are nicely done, clean and very comfortable to stay in. It has a lot of activities. It's an awesome place for kids as it has multiple in-house animals that you don't get to see in the city. Food is simple yet tasty and home-like. The owner is very friendly and talks to all his guests and gives them a lot of information about the place. All in all, it was a fun stay.

Visited with the family to Hidden Village for 2 days, it was one of the best trip & the place is super awesome. First the Ola showed a different way, so through backroad-pipeline road the gps showed the way & it was an adventure, for around 30 km it was all farming on both side & awesome scenary. During coming back it was through the highway & it was short & smooth drive back to Mumbai, please use the highway path, it is more smooth & safe.

Now the resort, it is really awesome, the rooms are great with sitting outside & khaat(bed) outside too, gives really a village feel, it was chilled in night & felt great. The staff is awesome, very helpful & very caring. Mr. Pinto from front office is the best, from the warm welcome till the exit on 2nd day, he was always there to help, support & made our trip one of the best trip ever. Thank you Pinto Sir, you are a great man !

The food is awesome, it is super delicious & the taste is very homely, simple but still very tasty, there were 3 vegetables, one non-veg , rice , daal, dessert, papad achar, salad, green thesa- very delicious. All the food was very hygenic & tasty.

Inside they have many activities, the waterfall & in it natural fish pedicure, swimming pool is awesome, it is shaded, so no sunlight on the water, which is healthy, the game room is awesome, there is pool, indoor football, tables tennis, carrom boards, chess. Outside they have cricket nets, volleyball, badminton nets. Vegetable is also grown here in backyard which you can purchase too while coming back.

Overall this place is packed with fun & great for a weekend getaway. Will surely love to visit here soon again.

Really a great weekend trip ! Hidden Village Rocks !

We had been to Hidden village, Atgaon for lunch yesterday. They have a huge property [we can call it as a mini jungle for Mumbaikars]. The road leading to the resort is very scenic. You also cross a railway crossing - which we did after sooo many years.

Hidden village has a natural swimming pool. The people here are very courteous and very nice - al local people.
They have cottages for stay picnics and offer day picnics too. Kids enjoy here as they get to see rabbits, turkeys, ducks, etc
Buffet spread was limited. We had expected some nice local dishes, but had mutter-paneer and kadhi pakora instead. Taste was average.
To sum it up : A good place to go for Mumbaikars for a day if youa re not fussy about food or luxurious stay.

Looking at the rating and the pictures, i was very excited to go to The Hidden Village. Check-in time was 11am and we reached at 11:15. We had left our place in Mumbai at 8am and almost 3.5 hours of non-stop drive (most of which was within Mumbai) we were exhausted and hungry. As soon as we reached the place, we thought we would order something to eat. To our disappointment, we were told that we cant order anything and we will have to wait for Lunch, which will start at 1:30pm. Already hungry and tired, we were made to wait another 2 hours for lunch. This wasn't the best start. Thankfully, we had carried some snacks and biscuits for our small daughter and had to eat that. When it was lunch time and we reached the kitchen place, the layout of the food was very elementary, which is fine and goes with the general theme of the place (close to nature), but, to be frank, the food did not appeal to my palette a bit. The food was utterly tasteless and spices were totally out of place. I can understand that cooks are local people from the village and I shouldn't be expecting a culinary marvel here, but, you should understand that the people visiting The Hidden Village are not from the same village and have tastes which differ slightly from what the local villagers are used to. Having had a bad experience at lunch, we were pretty certain that we will have to request them to organize our private barbeque for the evening at extra cost. We tried to request them for the barbeque and after making several excuses, they finally agreed to do it for us. I don't know what the whole fuss was about, since they were going to charge us extra for the barbeque arrangements anyways. However, at the end of it, i must acknowledge, the set up was very well made and was probably the best part of my visit to The Hidden Village. Talking about good things at The Hidden Village, let me also tell you about the Natural Water Fish pond, which doubles up as a free fish pedicure also and is quite a nice experience. After our barbeque we decided to just stroll around the place and have some fun at the basic recreation set-up in the facility. Around 10 pm, we decided to proceed for dinner. And believe me after i tasted the dinner, my wife was shocked to see a foodie like me restrict himself only to curd and salad. Dinner was a mere DISASTER. And at that hour, I didn't even have the patience to drive kilometers to get decent food. I was going to sleep on a half empty stomach so had requested the staff to have at least tea ready by 7:15am the next day morning. I don't think that too early. After following up with them a couple of times, they finally sent tea at 8:15 in the morning. Exactly an hour late. After finishing off tea, i decided to walk around the facility a bit. While I was doing that, every person from staff that i would meet kept on reminding me that check out is at 10am and that i cant be late. We actually checked out a 10:05am, but, from 9:45am, cleaners and managers were already standing outside our room, trying to pressurize us to leave the room. Then, we came to the last leg of our stay at The Hidden Village, breakfast and the less I talk about it, its better. The only thing I had for breakfast was bread butter jam and milk. Nothing else was worth consumption. There were no fruits, no cereals. In short, when you come for a holiday and spend thousands, you expect some kind fo quality in service, food, etc. This is completely missing. I know The Hidden Village was started as an employment scheme for the locals, but, i feel the owner is trying mask the incapable staff and cook under the "providing employment to locals" facade. One word of warning, carry your own food when you go to The Hidden Village or be prepared to spend numerous hours with the staff in the kitchen explaining how food should be prepared.

We have had many a people in our early stage that came in with wrong expectations. However over a period of time by fine-tuning the wordings and adding maximum information, with FAQs on our website we have been able to help potential visitors take informed decisions on their plans to visit this property. This ensured no wasting of each other’s time money and expectation. Who are these people? To us it’s a mind-set, Person who does not do required research before heading out to a destination. Ratings and Reviews put up by other visitors reflects their experience. Since we don’t have any tie up with any travel website or travel agent, no one can bundle off anyone in our direction. Our website has extensive information, (no marketing lollipops) enough for a person to take a studied decision whether it suits him or not. Expecting fruits and cereals for breakfast, gives us an insight into their complete misunderstanding of our concept. Then this also tells what they therefore could have been expecting for lunch and dinner. In large hotels and resorts, where bed with breakfast package is offered, sumptuous buffet layouts are a norm. But then the tariff is also that way. To expect a similar cuisine in an almost real village resort, at Rs. 1880 per head, less 15% taxes, which is about Rs. 1600 is outrageously funny or dumb or mischievous. What did they enjoy for that money for which he grouses ‘spending a few thousands’ Bhandari got a A/c room, with attached toilet bath, towels, soaps, tissue rolls, Large LED TV HD with all channels top end package, lunch tea snack dinner and breakfast, where you can help serve yourself till enough, and the whole hidden village green ambiance to live in for an overnight stay. Today a meal for two in a semi fine dining restaurant in Mumbai costs over Rs 3500. Here our reviewer seems out of sync with reality. Value for money means equation between both, and not fancy for less money. Human mind unless finely evolved is very susceptible to fall prey to prejudice, all it needs is just ONE TRIGGER OF DISGUST, and then almost every other aspect takes a domino like effect in the shadow of derision. Here the trigger is dislike of food. We understand some may not like village food, also accept the possibility that food cooked on that day may not have been at its best in terms of taste, but this complete contempt is in itself nasty. We were full that day, with fifty other guests. I was very much present on that day they checked in. Within the first few hours our young villager service staff, already signalled each other that we got to take extra care of the Ranu Bhandaris, courtesy body language and demeanour. I personally spoke to them late evening and showed them around especially the Venus and Cupid rooms, not a word was uttered on their version of food to me that evening. That seemed sly, after reading this review. Finally on a Sunday we allow day visitors, those who can’t stay overnight and have to report for office on Monday. Their check in is at 10 am and we state the room availability 11 am onwards, as these need to be cleaned up before letting them out again. Hence on a Sunday, checkout at time stated is important. If the staff is waiting outside post 10 am, they are doing their work. They cannot and will not ask a guest to check out before time, it’s a small team and they need to clean 19 rooms in one hour, especially on a Sunday morning. On other days (midweek) if we don’t have back to back booking we usually don’t mind a little delay on check out timings. After reading this, I hope the Bhandaris do a little study prior to planning a visit to other destinations so they don’t come to queer conclusions. Hidden Village is an entity present in the public domain, I feel these are one timers, shoot and scoot types, less understand the holistic value and efforts of creating such ventures. Fortunately today more people are doing research on the net and other available sources, before taking a holiday destination decision. We have had phenomenal increase in footfalls since this review. And the fantastic reviews that have consistently shown up since is a proof, that we are getting visited by people who take informed decisions. At this point I would like to remind readers, to read our website and ask if any doubts or concerns from our booking staff, on phone numbers on website. Having said that, even though we get a lot of good reviews its possible ‘one day’ our best is not the best for that day or situation or for the visitor, when things go completely out of hand. If it happens it will be a one off its kind situation, as we are constantly hands on in the direction of improvement.
