What a fantastic place, beautiful rooms & great food made all the better by fabulous hosts Carole & Philip who went out of there way to make you feel welcome. Will definitely revisit and stay longer in the summer. Highly recommend this lovely, friendly, welcoming B&B & tea room :)

If your looking for a B&B to stay in at in mid Wales look no further. Great hosts, made to feel very welcome, lovely clean room, delicious breakfast, and make sure you check out the jaccuzzi!! Lovely home made jam too, we didn't have an evening meal there but am sure they would be of the same quality. For a trip out make sure your visit Lake Vyrnwy, stunning!

This is a lovely quiet B & B with great views over the countryside. We were met by Carole who welcomed us with a pot of tea & a slice of Bara Brith each. The beds were so comfortable & the breakfasts were delicious. Thank you Carole & Philip for your hospitality & for making our stay memorable.

I stayed at Cartref for a night when visiting friends. This was convenient so I booked up. The hosts Carole and Phil could not have been more welcoming, with a cup of Welsh tea and cake five minutes after I had arrived.
The room was really clean and comfortable. Shower was powerful and spotless too. I asked about the possibility of food that evening and a beautifully cooked sirloin arrived shortly afterwards!
If you’re in the area, I would thoroughly recommend this traditional bed and breakfast.

Three of us walked part of Glyndwr's Way in October 2017. B&B's are a bit thin on the ground for this route, and I was so pleased to find this place. The rooms were very comfy, including a mini-fridge with real milk for our cuppas. There is also a lounge with Sky TV, and a balcony for summer months.
The B&B is actually several miles off the route, but Philip will pick you up from your end point for the day and drop you back there the following morning. We stayed two nights there, giving us one day's walk with lighter rucksacs.
The inn in the village is tiny, and was closed when we were there, so if you are on foot you eat in the B&B. You can BYO wine etc to have with your meal, as they do not have a licence. There is a reasonable choice of dishes, all excellent value and very tasty, and the sandwiches I bought for the last day were also good value and very nice.
All in all, a real find, and we may well go there again for a weekend's walking in the area.

A nice surprise to be invited to share a b and b weekend with sister and brother at a b and b whose sign i have passed on several occasions on my fishing forays in mid wales. A pleasant surprise to find an excellent place to stay with a quirky pub within walking distance in a quiet welsh hamlet in the countryside. A very home from home place to stay good hosts plus evening meals and a little tea room if you just want to call in for afternoon tea and cake. Room and mod cons more than adequate. Biggest plus was the real milk in room for early morning coffee and the separate living room . wifi sky etc if you need them. Reasonable rates. Local pub the goat must be oddest one ive been in...someones converted house and a good place to meet the locals.a bit short on beer types but at least a place for a beer after your evening meal at the b and b.
