Great old traditional 'step back in time' experience with characterful bar maid and atmosphere. Perfect for everything, beer, food, tea and freshly brewed coffee. Rode here today on our motorbikes and perfect for bikers as the bar maid knows more about bikes than you!!

Beautiful rooms, challenging staircases, wonderful venue. Lack of phone signal, Internet access and television a bonus. Good food and local beer. A great break. Excellent base for pleasant walks on Offah's Dyke with excellent views when weather clement.

Booked into Llanthony Hotel over the phone. The owner was so relaxed he just asked my name. When we arrived we were given a choice of rooms and were allowed to wander about at our leisure while choosing. All the rooms ooze charm and they are all very ancient, the ones on the Tower possibly 12th Century. If you are...

Set in a fantastic location, an ideal place for a walking weekend. Hearty supper and good beer, wine list was a pleasant surprise too. Wonderfully atmospheric, albeit not modern or ensuite, rooms- we had a narrow spiral staircase to get to room 4 with its high ceilings antique furniture and inspiring view of the Priory's remains, truly unique. Showers very...

I can not recommend this hotel highly enough. It is unique with the grounds and surrounding countryside utterly stunning. We went in autumn and were blown away by the scenery. The hotel is full of character, the pub in the old cellar is full of character with a fantastic choice of ales, and the food good. The really show stealer...

The hotel is in a beautiful, remote location, great for walkers, but also well worth the drive up the valley. It has been sympathetically renovated but retains the quirky style. The bedrooms are nicely furnished although the top floor bedrooms share a bathroom; the evening meal was very good and generous portions. The bar is popular and a little cramped,...

After a long day of walking up Hay Bluff and along the Hatterrall Ridge, I climbed back down to end my day at the Priory. Fellow walkers I'd chatted with en route had raised their eyebrows when I told them I was staying at the Priory, saying 'oh you'll enjoy that'. They were right. It's somewhere a little bit different...

An ancestor of mine, Richard Steele, had stayed here in the 1840s, so I was quite interested to relive his experience when I came through this area a few years ago. The room was well sized and comfortable, I enjoyed the dinner and company with others. Hiked part way up the trail to Offa's Dike. Enjoyed wandering through the priory...
