Nice front desk folks. New lobby. Old room with a tub and musty shower curtain. Overpriced Bistro once again at a Courtyard *by Marriott*…the only Marriott brand except for the designer end hotels that does not have a decent breakfast for Platinum/Ambassador members. Spending $16 for a coffee, muffin, and yogurt is ridiculous. Courtyards are the worst Marriott brand. At least if you stay at an old Residence Inn or Fairfield Inn, you know you’ll get a free coffee for suffering through the old beds, small TVs, and stink. Here at the Courtyard, they trick you with a nice lobby, but the same old carpeted 90’s room and then double down on the pain by charging for a mediocre breakfast.
Staff have been helpful and the front-desk guy, whose first name we share, apologize my room didn't have a king-size bed but two queen. Not an issue. They don't offer daily housekeeping unless requested. Had good nights of sleep and will look forward to returning.
Clean, friendly, close to Highway and New Orleans without being directly on a busy road. Glad we found this Courtyard and we plan to return. It isn’t a fancy place; but that isn’t what we wanted. Very friendly front desk staff, especially Lindsay R. who stood out as a welcoming presence after our delayed arrival and travel delays Gerri g to Nola.
This hotel is near the airport and easy to get to but not directly on the freeway. The staff was very responsive when I had question about the TV and fixed a toilet problem promptly. A very reasonable alternative to the 2-night minimum $300/night hotels elsewhere. Uber pickup was easy to get to the French Quarter and Garden District.
The hotel as a whole was fine. We had issues with cleanliness...found blood stains on sheets ..and unfortunately didn't even notice them to the next morning. Went out that day and when i returned asked the front desk if they change sheets daily..realizing most places don't..she said no. I explained what we found on the sheets and asked for them to be changed..told them which bed had them..the other sheets were fine and didn't expect them to be changed also. Waited for some time near the lounge giving them time to address our issue. They also offer free breakfast which i accepted but knew we wouldn't use. When we went up to the room found they ONLY flipped the sheets..same stain at the bottom of the bed..won't be seeing us there again. Gave them a chance ..didn't make a big fuss. I guess the time it would take to change the sheets is worth more than a good cleanliness review. The pool was also closed and we were told to go next door and use that pool. They also need to improve their signage ..if you are in a car it's difficult to see a courtyard sign..when i mentioned it on check in ..was told the sign was above on the building but if your driving that's not where you are looking. My only good review was for the women serving food and cooking. .She was very informative, friendly and the star of the hotel. …
Acknowledged my status at check-in. Was very tired after a day of traveling and opted to go to the "Bistro" rather than go out to dinner. Asked for a glass of white wine, was told they had none due to distributor issues since COVID-19. I settled on a nice glass of red wine for $15 and was served the wine in a plastic wine glass. When I requested a glass wine glass for my $15 glass of wine I was told that "the manager says we have to serve our wine in plastic glasses". Ordered the grain bowl with chicken for dinner, which had very little grain and was mostly kale and arugula and "pressed chicken". The room was fine but do not plan on dinner or drinks here. Did not see any restaurants nearby either.
The staff at this hotel were very accomodating, courteous, and welcoming. My room was comfortable and clean. There was a problem with the plumbing in the bathroom. The tub/shower faucet would not cut off completely. There was a constant low running of water. The room had a small refridgerator by no microwave. There was one small microwave down the hall by the ice machine. The hotel did not provide any complimentary items at all. Waters, fruit, or breakfast items. Everything was sold and over-priced.
Marriott prides itself on its treatment of repeat, Elite customers. We are Platinum Elite with a multi-day stay, but no one acknowledged our status upon check-in. When we arrived we also discovered there was no hot water due to a boiler problem. No one told us this on check-in; we had to inquire after trying to take a shower. The hotel gave us Bonvoy points for compensation, but we had to ask; no one volunteered them to us. Even after the boiler was fixed, the hot water was never really hot. During our stay, the lobby smelled a little like sewage and they had opened doors and a blower going, so it made us wonder if there was some other problem with the infrastructure. We were provided with two tiny bars of soap in our room and had to ask for more. Only two of three elevators were working. Our bathtub had a dripping faucet and our TV had vertical lines on one side and probably needed attention. On a good note, the curtains certainly kept our room dark. We understand that Hurricane Ida may have affected the area and the current pandemic could be affecting staffing. This is also an older facility. However, we have come to expect a better effort from Marriott.…
From the moment you walk into the hotel, there is an odor that smacks you in the face. Initially, I thought it was a temporary issue but when I asked the front desk clerk about it, she responded that the smell has been around for a few weeks. It smelled like sewage. She did share that the sewage company claims it’s not their issue but instead a different issue. Either way, the odor was strong and offensive. I am checking out a fat early because of it. If you plan to stay here during the month of August 2021, call ahead to confirm the odor issue has been resolved.
We have stayed at a lot of Marriott properties including Courtyard by Marriott's through the years. We have always found them to be clean and well managed. This hotel, however, was not clean. The room had a funny odor and the mattress on the bed did not have a mattress cover. The fitted sheet was directly on the mattress. Also, we were not given the option at check-in for maid service. We only found out the next day when out room was never cleaned that we had to let them know at check-in if we desired room service. We had to call for clean towels. Also, on one occasion, while coming and going, we noticed a very foul odor when we entered the elevator area. Other customers were also complaining about this. This was a BIG let down for sure. I feel like part of their problem is lack of help which was reflected in lack of cleanliness. Very sad overall.…
