The cabins are fantastic, basic but full of character. Sat out in the porch (behind the essential mosquito screen!) at night on the rocking chairs sipping some bourbon and enjoying the sounds of the swamp at night. Betty is a lovely host with so many stories to tell, there is a great communial breakfast room where you meet the other...

Thank you for your great response about Wildlife Gardens to TripAdvisor. It is now 2017 and we are still hosting people from all over the world and US. I cannot think about retiring so guess I will work until the end. We have been doing some well needed fixing - up. We want to have things in good shape so...

The hosts, Betty and Vernon, couldn't have been nicer - knowledgeable, accomodating and friendly. And the guided tour thru the grounds! Wow! Giant - 230 lb.- turtle! 13+ feet alligators, huge cypresses, iris, snakes chasing one another in the shallow bayou - only a few feet away but safely separated. It's an experience like no other and not to be...

Sadly the grounds are not what they used to be. We are locals and wanted a place to take nice pictures with my daughters new camera. Peacocks were beautiful. No deer only a few turtles, and alligators. Buildings and trails are deteriorating. We did not go in cabins.Owners are nice.

I'd searched the web for a long time to find a place like this - where you could experience staying in a cabin, right on a natural swamp. The owners are very friendly and charming. As soon as my gf and I walked in, we felt very welcome and right at home. The cottages are very basic, but clean and...

our very rustic cabin was charming! we were able to explore the grounds and swamps completely on our own Helen and Troy are 2 big alligators that are used for breeding. Fun to see them up close! Betty shared stories of her history, the wetlands, the Cajuns and was delightful to listen to. Breakfast was a yummy Cajun breakfast.

Wildlife Gardens Bed and Breakfast and Swamp Tours provided exactly the unique experience we were looking for! It was amazing. Our rustic little cabin was right in the swamp. Breakfast was delicious each morning. Though we went at the end of winter and the animals and plants were just perking up, the tour of the property didn't suffer! The B...

This was our first time to see the swampland of Louisiana so we wanted the full on outdoorsy feel. This exceeded my expectations. Although this rests on a bayou & not what I thought a true swamp would be, it was still a great experience. They have at least 3 alligators on the property & lots of baby gators, peacocks...

The best host, Betty and Vernon make you feel so welcome (along with the peacocks!) we felt like we were at a good friend's home. They are knowledgeable about the local and cajun area, can direct you to fantastic places, tell never forget stories & are a source of some fantastic history. We followed her email directions along with our...

My family of 5 spend thousands of dollars running around New Orleans and the gulf coast, but a year later, Wildlife Gardens is all that they talk about. I should have saved the money and just stayed here for a week. We loved everything about this place. As others have stated, the owners are amazing, the food was great, and...
