Detailed Reviews

KMVN TRH is conveniently located on the main road to Nainital and is very close to the Tourist Reception Center for Corbett National Park. Rooms are spacious. There are both AC and non-AC rooms. The geyser in the attached bathroom was in good working condition. There is a restaurant but you need to order in advance. Food was good and the staff were extremely courteous. Rooms are reasonably priced and can be booked online. Parking is available. However, the management does need to give a facelift , especially to the facade and the inner walls which definitely look extremely run down and unattractive. They were not accepting credit cards at the time of our checkout, apparently due to some problem with their machine. This can be quite inconvenient

Stayed in this hotel for a night in May with family. It is a good budget hotel, perfect place to stay for Corbett Safari. Here are the key points to note:
1. Close to Ramnagar station, by auto it will take 10-15 mins. So no worries if you reach late by train.
2. Ramnagar is a small town and it is located at the centre of it.
3. It is located next to forest office, so arranging safari jeep etc will be very convenient. In fact, the safari jeeps will pick you up from your hotel.
4. I found the service pretty good. Food was also ok. Non-veg is available in this place.
5. However, it is not a resort. So anyone looking for a resort like ambience at the day end post safari, this place is not for them. This place is for those tourists who want decent service, food at decent price with the convenience of safari arrangement.
6. Location wise, it is close to Amdanda gate (Bijrani) and Dhangarhi gate (Dhikala) is around 15 Km away. Dhela zone is also not too far. In short, you don't have to travel too long to reach any gate of Corbett.

Good - Big rooms, friendly staff, cheap stay and food, decent menu, tourist office within the hotel premises to make your safari bookings
Bad - No wi-fi, located in Ramnagar where there is nothing to see and which is quite polluted, not close to the forest, bathrooms could do with refurbishing

Stayed during the long Republic Day weekend, the accommodation was average. The property is quite old S don't except fancy rooms.
The staff was quite cooperative especially the kitchen staff. The food was homely & tasty. They served food with love. Good place to stay if you are not willing to pay for expensive properties just for 1-2 days stay. The safari booking center is very near to it So that added advantage.

Canter stand for Dhikala safari & gypsy stand for safaris to other zones is right at the gate of KMVN TRH Ramnagar. Hence if you want convenience & don’t want to loose time & energy in haggling with auto & gypsy drivers, then this is the most appropriate location. Staff is well behaved, food served is good & space was enough for a couple in executive room. If traveling by own vehicle then there is safe parking too. It is in centre of market place.

The second best place to stay if you missed a booking inside Jim Corbett National Park. The TRH is located on Ranikhet road just beside Jim Corbett Office in Ramnagar. A bar on the opposite side and various shops all around. Take care to order your food early to get it on time. Staff is co-opeartive.
Maintenance of this place is not up to the mark but they have a good infrastructure. The rooms are huge.

I stayed in room # 103 on 01-Apr-2016.
The first shocker came at the check-in. Initially I had booked 4 rooms but one week before the check-in date, I sent a cancellation note to Central Reservation Centre through email(after speaking to the help-desk). At the check-in, I was told that the cancellation had not been done. So I was forced to take the 4 rooms.
Now come the price. The Double-Bed super deluxe room cost 1900/night. This is the price of a similar room in Ginger, New Delhi. Do note that Ramnagar is 235 KMs away from Delhi. The room is certainly overpriced.
Now come the cleanliness. The floors have not been mopped for months. There is dust everywhere. The furniture are all unkempt and have seen better days. One family traveling with us found empty bottles of alcohol behind the curtains. This proves that house-keeping is done only for namesake. The intercom was not working for one of the rooms.
Bathroom was reasonably clean for my expectation.
The food is tasty but again it comes for a high price. Each chappati cost Rs 8/-.
The only good part is that the location is in the middle of the town and the railway station is about 1 to 2 KMs away.
The worst shock was the taxi fare arranged by the hotel. I had asked for two auto-rikshaws. The hotel management could not arrange for one even though they had assured me the previous night. At the last moment, I had to take the cab from the TRH. For the 2 KMs ride, I was charged 200 rupees for each cab. This would probably put New York to shame.
Overall, I felt that this hotel does not provide value for money and feel like there is a tendency to extract as much as possible from the travelers.

It is a basic accommodation in heart of city Ramnagar, very close to Bus stop and located on the main road. It is managed by kumaon Mandal and is very economic option to stay at. The Rooms are decently clean and the staff is cooperative to further clean it if you wish. Back in the days, it used to be frequented by foreigners since there were not many options. Its a decent choice for a small lodging, one could find homestay as better option in same rates, but will have to compromise on location and convenience.

This KMVN TRH is situated right on the main highway beside the main market. With a major construction going on at the backside, the noise level is very annoyingly high. Rooms are absolutely no frills affair. Half of the gadgets at the toilet do not work properly. Some rooms are air cooled and some are air conditioned. Food is so so. Only saving point is that the staff are very courteous.
One should not stay here for any purpose other than using it as a transit house over one overnight stay.
Like us, many use it as a transit house to get into Jim Corbett NP next day early morning. Jeeps pick up right from this TRH. But if you are staying overnight within JCNP, you must travel very light, since the Jeeps do not have space to accommodate more than two / three small luggages. We were travelling heavy and so had to make arrangement to keep our extra luggage back in TRH cloak room.
