We stopped for breakfast here twice. Once when they had the buffet and once when we had to order from the menu. We found the food very good and reasonably priced both times. Our waitress was excellent the time we ordered from the menu. I would definitely recommend it, at least for breakfast anyway.

The nature is beautiful and the trails are fun. BUT that is not enough to attract people and to make them want to return and actually stay at the resort. We stayed at the cottage #207. It is a good place, but there was no effort to make it nice or attractive. No art on walls, no decorations. The kitchen... More

Yes, it's not the newest hotel. But I've never been to a state park where anything is the most modern. That's sort of the point. Plus I doubt the trails could be free (or the hotel affordable) if they tried to go blow-for-blow with the cookie-cutter chains. You can hike. Then check into your room. Then hike some more. Then... People don't come here for the hotel but still, the State needs to do some renovations. Looks very 1970ish. Good things: VERY close to trails (as in trail entrance is literally in the back parking lot and within 50 yards of lodging) Each room has a semi-private balcony Not outrageously priced Restaurant on grounds Not so good things: Everything is... We have been to this park many times, and enjoy it every time. Hiking is really interesting. Short or long, easy or hard, you choose. All will be enjoyable. The Kentucky State park system is really excellent, and this park is one of the best, and the area is beautiful.

This place is run by the state of KY i guess. Before you fret...it is really nice. It is not the Ritz Carlton by any means, but it was genuinely nice. The rooms are nice and clean. The beds were comfortable. The rooms DID NOT have a fridge or microwave so plan accordingly. The dining area, was nice and clean,... More

Cottages were beautiful but a real hike up 3 flights of stairs. Pretty fireplace, well-stocked kitchen, 2 big bathrooms with fluffy towels and a full length porch with furniture. All rooms had flat-screen TV's. Parking at cottage limited. The chilly pool was down an additional 200 steps at the lodge. We also wish the front desk would have told us about... More

Natural Bridge is somewhere you really need to visit if you are in the area. There is a skylift to the top if you aren't a hiker and the view is absolutely amazing. There are several trails you can go on. A must for your trip!

The hiking trails here are amazing. The view from every room is "can't see the forest for the trees! " Right outside the windows all of the trees are large and very close together. This is not a good vacation spot for the mobility challenged, unless you just want to ride the sky lift to the top of the natural... More
