I gave it a 4 rating because of the value. It's really not a 4 hotel, but the room was clean, and the breakfast was great. We had a great night's sleep, and our son and wife were able to bring in their pets. They are still remodeling, but for the price of $58 a night, it was an awesome stay.

Pros:
Separate freezer and fridge.
Clean room and comfy beds
Huge pool and hot tub
Onsite place to eat
Gas station can be walked to for anything you may need
Hot breakfast
Plenty of towels
Tons of cable channels to relax and veg out

Cons:
Large gap under door allowing light and noise in
Hallways were a bit dirty, they needed to be vacuumed. There were also large air blowers in the hallways so I don't know if they had a water issue prior to our arrival.
Feels kind of like a university dorm

Other notes:
The basketball and arcade areas are closed
Mask wearing is 50/50 and bar/place to eat onsite has tables right next to one another

We stayed here for 10 nights. We had sold our house and we had to wait to close on our new house. This was our home for 10 nights. The value is good at this hotel. The hotel rooms were average but we did not like the pillow top mattresses. The best part of our stay was the FOOD! IT WAS AMAZING! We ate at the bar all but two evenings. Freddie was our bartender and he was AMAZING. With the exception of Friday and Saturday nights, he had to work the entire restaurant alone. He was a hard worker. He put the customer first and always kept his cool no matter how busy he was. He deserves a raise. One thing to know about this hotel is that all of the dog friendly rooms are on the second floor. We have older dogs and this made a bit more difficult.

All in all this was a great experience!!!

Do you like a hotel stay where you do your own maintenance and cleaning? If so, you'll like this hotel.
Pros: Front desk staff is friendly and helpful, Freddie the bartender is awesome, and the food at the bar/ restaurant is reasonably priced and good. The sheets and shower curtain were clean. Hotel is very close to the Kentucky Horse Park and WiFi is good. One of the two washers and one of the, two dryers worked. Both ice machines worked.
Cons: This property has suffered from years of neglected maintenance. Water leaks and mold in the ceiling tiles are evident throughout the building. The fitness room has an overpowering mildew smell and one or two pieces of barely functional equipment. The toilet had cracked and missing grout around it. No clean towels were available throughout the stay - had to sneak them off a maid's cart. Had to empty room trash into outside cans. Had to clean the rubber gasket around the room refrigerator so it would seal closed to get it to cool and there was no freezer compartment.Cleaned the tub to prevent it from getting slippery. Carpets are stained and baseboards are crumbling. Breakfast was identical every day to includecold eggs and incompletely cooked potatoes. Be aware that your credit card will be charged for your entire stay as soon as you check-in.

Once upon a time, this was a grand hotel with style and decent service…not anymore. Rooms and hallways are hot, stuffy and smell of mildew and mold…sometimes they’re not hot in the room, as long as the air conditioner works in the room. I put items in my television stand drawer and they reeked of mildew when taken out to wear.

Bugs are a problem in rooms, and the wifi signal doesn’t work…connects on your device but has slow to non existent connection to the internet. Not a single vending machine in the entire hotel has any items for sale…and there are many. They’re not even plugged in. Several ice machines also non working. Hallways are hot and had mold visible on the ceilings. The windows in the room are designed to be slid open for fresh air but have been fixed by the hotel to not open and can’t even be cracked for a breeze without a screwdriver to remove the device blocking it.

The Sedona Taphouse restaurant is brand new and HORRIBLY overpriced, service is super slow and if you read the menu, you will be left wondering what it is you are actually ordering from the descriptions given. What I ordered tasted fine once I actually got it…waitress was also preparing the food and all alone serving.

The Sports Tap has good food and is very reasonably priced, however, they have ONE MAN tending both the bar and serving the decently sized restaurant. He is friendly and does a good job considering the terrible hand he has been dealt here. Housekeeping is sparse and there are very few of them working for such a large place…It is very sad that the few loyal employees who work hard with very little resources provided to them are treated so poorly by their place of work.

Front desk is sparsely staffed and hard to get anyone on the phone at any time of day. There are people there but they are few and overworked. Luggage carts are few and in need of repair. Hard to get clean towels and wash cloths, staff indicated that laundry machines were broken. Not a good stay at all!

I don't recommend this hotel. The beds were hard as a rock and the section we stayed in was dated and smelled terrible. They must have cleaned the carpets in the banquet areas because the carpet was soaking wet. The smell of cleaner was overwhelming walking through that area. The water in the shower didn't have much pressure. We ordered food from a pizza place and the delivery driver told us that they were not allowed to come in to the hotel per hotel management. The breakfast the next morning was pretty cold. I tried speaking with someone that works there about it and they ignored me.

Gaurav made checking in easy. His excellent customer service included, thoroughly explaining rates and charges, physically showing me my room location, and other facility extras. I've long known Clarion to provide good service, but todays experience surpassed any of my recent stays! Thanks Clarion for a good facility and employees like Gaurav!

This was formerly a jewel of a place - a pleasantly surprising find of a lovely spot and especially given that the brand is at the low end of mid-scale. Sadly, they’ve slipped. Dingy worn carpets, an overpriced and drearily generic craft beer themed restaurant, a poorly maintained and thoughtlessly constructed maze of hallways, and creepy room amenities like a static crackling clock radio and a blank, shelf less cabinet are among the quirks in this hotel. We were given a room that required about 5 minutes of trekking down hallways with a rickety luggage cart before we got to an impassable stairway some 20 feet from the door of our room. We were stranded in Lexington and asked for late checkout to complete repair arrangements for our car and rental arrangements for our replacement. We discovered that, because of issues arising from the rideshare driver having trouble and our repair place having delays in setting up our rental, we might be 5-10 minutes late getting back for checkout. We were told this would cost is a half day’s charges . Only quick implementation of a plan B solved our problem within a problem. While everyone else in Lexington seemed kind and friendly, these folks were notably not. And, their grim closed pool with barely functional “gym” is a sure sign of current and expected future neglect.

This was the worst hotel I’ve ever been to. Stated out where the hotel staff were rude and you can tell they didn’t want to be there. The room they put us in reeked of smoke and weed. We requested a different room. We were then put into another room with two full bed( we requested one king bed). This room had a hole in the wall to the outside parking lot. The hallways were gross and filled with trash. We requested to have a refund so we could go somewhere that actually was clean. Still waiting on refund of $136. We left and got a hotel room 6 miles down the street for same price and ALOT better in every aspect.

We are currently renovating our hotel restaurant but The Sports Page is still open and serving food, drink, etc. The indoor pool area is still open and everything is usable. We have been doing upgrades but it didn't effect the usage of items. In regards to the deposit we authorize your credit card for the full stay and the deposit. The deposit is released upon check out.
