I stayed there several times when I was travelling a lot back in 2009-2011. Of course any traveler should be cautious. The owners were down to earth. Just don't put on airs since you're probably not royalty, eh? They'll treat you right.

I would stay there all the time when in town. The only reason I there was because there was always some working girls for the night that got lonely. I treated them like everyone should be treated. I might stay there when I am in town this Friday if there is no working girls it will be my last time there. I look for another motel that might have some working girls.

while staying there we had roaches climbing the walls. The sheets had stains all over them. They would not give us new towels or bed linen the whole time we were there. There was homeless people staying on the property day and night,

My ac unit went out and it was hot as hell.. Stayed here cause it was just $40 basically. I admit for $40 it wasn't bad... I was expecting the Bates Motel or something based on other reviews but the room was actually clean and TV and all appliances worked ok.. The only thing I definitely agree with the other reviewer about is this place is not family friendly and not somewhere to bring kids too.. The neighborhood is rough to say the least and I did sleep with my Glock under my pillow..

I had stopped off from a road trip one evening and was just looking for somewhere cheap to lay my head. Great location, surrounded by everything you could possibly want. Unfortunately I wasn't very happy with the atmosphere. The people that frequent the place were very less than reputable looking. I did some research online and found out some things about the type of offenders that take up residence there. I wont be going back and I certainly wont be taking a child around there. I have seen online old pictures of the place. In its day it was a beautiful place. Cant really say that now. I have a picture of the place from long ago, but it sure doesn't look like this now.

The room they gave us: curtains wouldn't stay up in the wall, door won't lock, water in bathroom floor, Toilet not even flushed when we got there and FOOD UNDER the COVERS! (Rice n' beans) said we could have our $ refunded but another room was not available. Never refunded our $. Owner/manager hangs up the phone when I call. Hes a complete coward. An illusion of a man.

They have bad cockroaches , after the first day , i asked for the rest of money back to go somewhere else , they dont refund , and they dont fix any of the complaints u have , they make excuses .180 dollars to stay there is too much money for a place falling a part.

The room was only $40, but it was the lousiest $40 I've ever spent. I've stayed in all kinds of $40 motels - some were classy; some were trashy. This was definitely on the trashy end of the spectrum. 1) The room was a smoking room, and it wasn't clear as to when the last time someone had cleaned it or stayed in it. (Even the shower curtain smelled like cigarettes.) 2) There were holes in everything; from the sticky, plastic drapes to the linens and even the shower curtain. 3) The water pressure was so hard I thought it was going to blast off my skin. The shower knobs were practically rusted stuck, and it took all my strength to turn the water on. 4) No towels. 5) Dim lighting: I had to leave the shower curtain half open because the light didn't "extend" that far. 6) The bed was a hollow box (not literally, but it felt that way), and 7) The trash truck came around 6 a.m. and sounded like it was in the room. Needless to say, it wasn't the most comfortable $40 I've ever spent. In fact, I've spent less on motels that, compared to the Catalina, are luxury spots. Also, I must note that when spending $40 on a motel, I don't expect a royal palace; however, there is some measure of cleanliness that should be upheld.
