We visited here on Valentines night 2016 and had a great evening so this year we thought we would visit again, however the overall experience was the opposite of last year. The waitress gave us a very friendly welcome and showed us to our seats and took our drinks order. There were a number of choices on the set menus...

Just had a pleasant stay for 1 night. The room was simple but clean with good facilities for tea coffee etc. The staff were very friendly and the while atmosphere was very relaxed. For 85 quid you cant go too far wrong really. Would stay again

Having had a business lunch at the pub a week earlier I recommend that we returned for an evening meal. The welcome was good and we were shown to our reserved table. It was down hill from there. The orders came out wrong, and the burgers burnt and couldn't be eaten. I meal was deducted from the bill. I doubt...

Bit of a shame really. Staff nice but I wondered when we walked in and the place was empty. At first I put it down to being January but maybe not. Average at best really. I'm not hard to please but I was fairly disenchanted. Must be difficult when you are not getting the throughput really. Maybe it was just...

I went to the Live and Let Live for a quick lunch with a work colleague a fair while ago, and was quite impressed. I'm pleased to say that a return visit today with friends didn't disappoint! Set in the beautiful North Hertfordshire countryside the LLL has views to impress the most ardent 'countryphile', and after a brisk 8k walk...

We had booked this venue in advanced before you read on. Arrived and staff took our drinks order, a little later our food order was given, 1h 45m after our arrival the food arrived, but one order was wrong. During our wait we asked to see the manager but was told she was helping prepare our food - we still...

Despite being the only diners in the restaurant (another two people left shortly after our arrival) it took almost 2 hours for us to be served with a main course and a dessert. The food was average to say the least - nothing complicated, a BLT ciabatta for my daughter and a beetroot and goats cheese tart for me. The...

My husband stayed here 2 years ago on business and had a great stay, even having drinks with the owner, so when he had to visit the area again, I thought I would go with him and make a night of it. The room wasn't great - quite small, sink in the room and then a very small toilet and...

We have just returned from a 3 night stay here and really liked it. The room was modern and clean and the bed comfortable. We managed to fit 2 dog crates in the room. The breakfast was really good and we had a lovey dinner here one evening. The others major thing it has going for it is the location....
