We were greeted by Devin when we checked in on May 27 . We had come in using our Marriott points. He was very
welcoming and said I am sorry you have an upgraded room, but you will be very
pleased in three days when we will be able to move you to a one bedroom suite.
He was very correct. Both rooms were lovely. Of course having the one bedroom
suite was great. Our granddaughter spent a couple nights with us.

They are not changing towels daily, but if you need additional towels you can go to the desk and get them. The second day Kyle did bring us towels when we made the
request.

Kris, was also helpful at the front desk, I asked if anyone had turned in black mask
on one side and Nebraska Big Red on the other side and she said she had seen one
outside and went to look for it. Of course it was gone, but, it showed how helpful
Devin and Kris were at the front desk.

Breakfast was included with the upgraded room. Dani was amazing. She explained
that you had the scrambled eggs, potatoes and coffee that came with the room. During our stay we had potatoes three different ways. They must rotate the variety on different days. Food was excellent, but Dani could have used another server on a holiday weekend.. She was off one day and said Karen would be excellent too.
They were both excellent servers. The day we checked out June 2nd both Dani and Karen gave excellent service.
Our granddaughter ordered off the menu an eggwhite spinach omelette and
was very pleased.
service. Lisa, was not a hostess the first couple days and when I think on day three she saw me with the walker suggested I use the ramp which was not visible. The servers were really working and did not see me struggling with the walker.

The pool was very nice, it was well maintained. I do wish they had a larger towel in
the pool area. The fitness center was good too.

It states the gratuity is included for breakfast with the upgraded room, but please give the servers some cash. They really work hard.

Covid has been a disruption, but Marriott has maintained their good service. Looking forward to our next stay.

Stayed for 3 nights while visiting the Creation Museum and the Ark Encounter. Do get a room with a balcony and a river/city view because you won’t be disappointed. Great view of the Bengals stadium and we watched part of the game on the Jumbotron from our room. The staff were extremely friendly and very, very attentive. The room was great. My only gripe about the room is that there is no fan in the bathroom, no place to hang all the towels after a shower, and a constant noise outside from probably the hotel equipment (air conditioner towers, etc). We couldn’t hear the noise inside but sitting on the balcony and hearing it wasn’t great. Due to COVID, the restaurant and bar are in the middle of the hotel. The menu is small but you can find something. We ate breakfast twice and it was really good and service was great and attentive. We had a few drinks at the bar and that was great too. Just so you know, you park in a city owned garage attached to hotel so expect to pay $10/day. Once we came back to the hotel, we walked everywhere. Great restaurants are very close. I’d definitely stay here again.

Dear VirginiaLove2Travel, Thank you for taking the time to share the aspects of your experience, we are very happy that you enjoyed your stay! Additionally, we are appreciative of your comments regarding our staff, we work hard to shape a positive guest experience and it's always nice when it is recognized by our guests. We are fortunate to have one of, if not the best, views in the area. Our Waterview King rooms give a breathtaking view of the skyline and many of our guests return for this aspect alone. We are happy that you enjoyed your stay, and look forward to being your preferred hotel when your travels bring you to the area.

Although the hotel is in a great location, the view to the city of Cincinnati is great, and the staff were friendly, I would not recommend this hotel. We had two rooms and both were equally pretty dirty. I wiped up lots of "things" and it was pretty gross. The floors had not been properly cleaned in a very long time and our white socks became black almost instantly after walking around in the rooms. There was makeup all over the couch and floor in our room. When we told the front desk, we were given an apology and told that "Taylor Swift was in town recently and there was lots of makeup and glitter everywhere". True story.... It was everywhere. So the rooms are not clean... at all. If you want extra towels, be sure to ask. We were only given 2 towels per room per night. The shower stalls are VERY SMALL.... like designed for an 8 year old. My 6'2" husband really struggled. I am 5'2" and I even had a hard time in there.

The staff members were very friendly, but most were not helpful. We were given a QR card when we checked in to help us with hotel options and things to do around the area even after we asked for specific suggestions. So make sure to all your research about the area (dining, etc) because you will not be given much info once there.

Do not be ready for great service (although servers are nice) at the "restaurant" and the food is extremely overpriced.

Again, valet guys were nice, but we were told our truck would be parked in covered parking (and it was the first night). We eventually found out they were just putting our vehicle in the open parking lot across the street from the hotel. We would have just parked it ourselves if we would have known. Save your money and just park your car yourself in the same lot they use.

There is a Dewey's Pizza about 4 minutes from the hotel by car which we spent a lot of time at; they had great service and the pizza was delicious!

All in all it wasn't a totally TERRIBLE experience, but we won't stay at this one again.

The hotel was renovated in the last couple of years, so it was attractive and has a nice setting next to the river. That is the positive side. Due to all the Covid restrictions, don’t expect to get a decent meal. Of course, all hotel dining experiences are very expensive, but when you don’t get good service and the food is just so-so, why eat there unless you have to.

We had the grandkids with us and had adjoining rooms, which worked out well.

The biggest disappointment was with the comfort of the rooms and the bathroom fixtures. The light over the “sofa” (more like a padded bench) was burned out, so the room was darker than we needed. We were playing “Uno” with the kids and could have used more light.

The rooms were on the small side and there is no carpet, so hitting a cold, hard floor with bare feet in the middle of the night is unpleasant. In addition to that, one would expect that they wet mop the floors to be more sanitary, but, no. I wiped up a few drops of water on the floor and the tissue was black with dirt, so obviously had not been wet mopped in a very long time.

They should provide some type of instruction sheet on how to use the shower. It was a shower head/wand combination, but I had never used that type before. The water control took a lot of trial and error to find “warm” vs “hot” and “cold.” You have to turn the handle around 2-3 times for “hot” to get the water warmed up. Being the first one in the shower that night, the water was not coming out and it took several seconds trying to discover the button on the handle of the wand. I never found out how to separate the wand from the head. When I did find the button, the hot water hit me straight in the face and my arms were too short to adjust the water without getting shot in the face. Then, I overshot the water temp to ice cold. After much trial and error, I finally got a decent shower. It would have been hilarious on a sitcom (think “Friends” Ross in a tanning booth), but not so much when you are tired and just want to relax for bedtime. The doors on the shower were hard to slide.

Then, later on in the night, got up to use the toilet, flushed, and returned to bed. After a few seconds, realized the water in the tank was not filling. Had to get back up, take the lid off the tank and fool with the innards to get the water to stop running. The next morning, the same thing happened in the kid’s room.

Marriott has been our favorite hotel brand. This hotel did not meet up with their usual quality. Maybe all hotels have lost quality because of Covid, but we would never go back to this Marriott.

Dear Not impressed, Thank you for taking the time to share the aspects of your stay, I regret that you experienced the multiple challenges that you've shared. Normally we receive high marks for the cleanliness of the property, guest service, and experience as a whole. I'm sorry that we missed the mark for this stay. Certainly we are operating differently due to COVID, and it has provided unique challenges as we try to regain our footing with regards to the return of business levels. These are unprecedented times, and like many other properties in the hospitality industry, we are working hard to return to normal. Unfortunately, guests that are expecting a Pre-COVID hotel experience, will find that it may be some time before we are able to fully return to normal operations.

I was excited to try this hotel after purchasing a gift certificate through a fundraising auction for a non-profit organization and came with my husband and our two kids. It was disappointing from start to finish. Just making the reservation with the gift certificate required four separate phone calls spanning three days. When I checked in, we were given on low level room with an awful view (directly overlooking a concrete roof of vents). When I asked if it would be possible to get a room with a better location, they said no because of the gift certificate value, even though the hotel was far from full. The room itself was small and fairly average. We used the pool in the evening and there is a loud whistle sound that literally blasts every 45 seconds (we timed it). I asked if this could be due to the fire alarm system having been tested and worked on earlier in the day and the employee shrugged. We returned the following morning and the loud and high pitched sound was still blasting every 45 seconds. Not fun. When I went to make coffee in our room, the coffee maker was dirty. I called down to the front desk and they said the only option was for me to come buy coffee downstairs (the hotel does not have complimentary coffee). When I checked out, the employee told me the room rate was actually $60 less than the value on our gift certificate, which makes me think they actually could have given us a better room. I asked if we could have breakfast or at least coffee since there was so much left on the gift certificate and they said no to that too. Overall, there is just a huge lack of hospitality, consideration, and honesty. I definitely would not recommend this hotel.

We booked a block of rooms from a wedding many months in advance. Unfortunately, the Marriott exercised their right to cancel any additional rooms from being booked at the group rate after the wedding invitations were mailed (6 weeks prior to wedding) Next the event coordinator was unresponsive to emails and phone calls. We were working to confirm the rooms that were booked and confirming the rental of the hotel van for transporting the guests. The week prior to the wedding we were told there was another wedding party using the hotel van, so we had to scramble to find transportation for the guests
The most concerning issue was the security issue. We left our room at 9am and didn’t return until midnight. Upon returning to the room we found broken glass and blood. Someone had been in our room! The front desk offered us a new room. The new room only had one bed and there were three of us in the room. The front desk told us they had no other rooms available. They did offer us 50% off the nights rate and free breakfast, but we were left without enough room to sleep 3 people.

Nice check-in however no upgrade other than a room with a view. Upgrade to me is when the hotels almost empty giving you a suite special in your Bonvoy gold member. Concierge lounge closed.

Breakfast is limited and only one person on duty for too many customers.

Pool was opened early so I could swim laps! Room was clean, quiet and comfortable. Excellent view of river and city. Several really good restaurants within easy walk.

Lyft is non existent in the area plan accordingly, hotel has cab service they use that was great for ride to airport. No local or airport shuttle at hotel.

Dear billn635, Thank you for taking the time to share your experience at our property, we appreciate you staying with us during these unprecedented times for travel. I'm sorry that the complimentary upgrade to a room with a view fell short of meeting your expectations for an upgrade. At our property nearly all of our rooms are the same size, and the only differentiating aspects are view and bed size. We do have 4 suites at our property, however they are on the lower floors and aren't nearly as popular with our loyal guests as our City view rooms, which provide the breathtaking views of the Cincinnati Skyline. However tastes differ, and in the event that you return to our property and prefer a little additional space over the view, please feel free to make the inquiry at check in for availability. The challenges of COVID have impacted the offerings that we are able to make from a menu standpoint and for staffing purposes. Travel will continue to look very different, to many of our guests, that are accustomed to and expecting pre-pandemic levels of operation. We are pleased that you enjoyed the lap pool, and thank you for your comments regarding the nice check-in and cleanliness of the guest room. These are cornerstones of the experience we strive to provide for our guests, and it is always appreciated when the efforts are acknowledged. We welcome the opportunity to host you again, and wish you better travels in the future.

Stayed here recently in Room 916, which was a corner room with great views of the river and Cincinnati skyline. Check-in was quick, easy and very friendly. Room was clean, and everything worked well, except for the ridiculous shower head which didn't work on the "normal" setting. Was in town for wedding just across river at the park. Very easy walk across the pedestrian walk-way of the bridge to take you into the beautiful park on other side of river. Parking was challenge in self-serve garage on Friday and Saturday night (Thursday night was easy). Garage was full by 10:00 saturday night and had to use outdoor lot just a couple hundred yards away. Valet was awesome in allowing us use of the curb for short periods while we loaded and unloaded for wedding guests. Bar area was nice, but only open until 10:00 pm. Breakfast was excellent in the bar Saturday morning. Plenty of good restaurants close by, and easy access to highway to airport. Would definitely stay here again if I am in town. Curious as to what is being built outside hotel down by water. Looks like some sort of pavilion.

Dear DavidS050, Thank you for taking the time to share your experience at the Cincinnati Marriott at Rivercenter, we are pleased that you enjoyed your stay. I'm sorry that the multi-stream shower head was cause for concern, unfortunately a number of our guests miss the engagement knob on the shower head itself to adjust the streams. I regret that we weren't able to share that information with you while you were here, or to make any corrections if the apparatus was faulty. We're very happy that you would choose to stay with us on any future visits to the area, we look forward to being your preferred hotel. Additionally, the City of Covington is nearing completion of an outdoor amphitheater and river walk. We are very excited for the potential of this outdoor space for our guests to further enjoy the vistas provided from our property. Thank you again for comments, we hope to welcome you back in the near future.

The lobby of the hotel was nice and spacious and the people working at reception were very nice. The room was large and had a king bed, little sofa, decent sized fridge and coffee maker. The view of the river was lovely!
Upon my arrival the floors had recently been clean and were still wet. I took a nap and when I woke up they were still wet! It’s probably the material of the flooring but I ended up drying it so I wouldn’t get bleach on my clothes.
I was getting ready to go to a wedding and noticed there was no shampoo in the bathroom. I called down twice and it took almost half an hour to get shampoo brought up. The shower pressure was not the greatest and the shower door wouldn’t stay shut.
I woke up with a sinus cold and later noticed that although I requested a feather down free room and was told at check in that it was, that only the pillows were foam.
I had asked for late check out at 2pm and at 1:40 housekeeping was banging on the door, even though the dnd sigh was out. I responded to say I was still in the room, twice, but she came in anyway to ask me when I’m leaving!!! Wow!

Great location and lots of paid parking nearby, within walking distance to Reds baseball game.
Rooms are updated and modern. King size bed, mini fridge, no microwave, they have eliminated room service which is no big deal, but should add a microwave if thats the norm going forward.
Shower was nice but the shampoo soap bottles are in a bad location if you are any bigger than a stick.
Hands down the worst M club of any Marriotts I have stayed at, it was bad 2years ago and set the bar even lower this time.

Upgraded room with a balcony is definitely worth it.

You can request with reception wether you wan to pay for them then, or put them on your room. But watch out, once you put your card in their system will automatically take $60 even if you only owe €20?? The difference will drop back into your account but it can take up to 2 weeks to do this. Pay in cash, cash f you can, to prevent this.

Good Afternoon, The Jack Casino discontinued service to most area hotels about a year ago. The easiest way to get there is either taxi/Uber or take the Southbank Shuttle (pickup stop right next to the Marriott) and walk up to the Casino. It's safe, simple and reasonably quick. Thank you for your question. We hope this helps!
