It was so so so so comfortable. Employees were nice, the lobby smelled wonderful. It was an oasis after our travels. I would highly recommend if you are in the area to stop and get a cozy night’s stay.
This is one of the best hotel stays we’ve had in a very long time! Hotel Covington is beautifully renovated with lots of modern twists and the staging of current clothing with archival objects is a classic reference to its Department store history. The lobby and bar areas are beautiful, and the patio is very inviting. The rooms are beautiful and have great amenities, with specially curated mini bars. Probably the best lighting fixtures in any hotel room we’ve ever stayed in. We use their car shuttle service to go to dinner and back in North Cincinnati, and they were very accommodating. We loved our stay, and can’t wait to come back!
Enjoyed the view from the Latonia Suite, and loved the ambience. The bed was comfortable with crisp sheets and luxurious faux fur accents. The historic back story was a lovely touch. We pass through Kentucky at least once a year on the way to visit family, and this was a romantic place to stay, Will stay here again!
A remarkable place – one of the very best. Flawless service (by that, I mean, polite, professional, prompt, well-dressed, well-spoken, and well-prepared - you get the idea...), a stylish room (love the high ceilings, the great shower, and nice touches like a decent radio). Gift shop sells Woodford Reserve, decent socks and neckties and lots of other uncommon goodies). Breakfast and lunch and bar always good (did not have dinner there). It's ALL good, but of the "bad" parts - if you don't know that before you book, blame yourself - not the hotel (with a bad rating, for instance). The place is used for plenty of weddings, so if an occasional crowd of well-dressed happy people bothers you - you've been notified. It's pricey, it's not on the river, there is no pool, and the neighborhood - while improving - is not for everyone. But you know those things before you book, right? So let them go...and just enjoy! NO PLACE is perfect for everyone. Parking is about 100 feet away, in a deck - $12/day. Valet is $20, if you choose. Coffee is free - but you might have to ask for it. It's not part of any points program. Common areas are scented. Some construction noise outside (obviously not at night). Prefer a real door on the bathroom to barndoor. I don’t care about any of those things – so – 5 stars!…
I honestly wish I could just live in this hotel (I'm a writer, so I do a lot of retreats in various towns, usually in larger spaces, but this hotel has that vibe and I'd love about two weeks to "live" here). It's upscale without being fussy and awkward. The food and drinks are top notch, the staff goes out of their way to be both nice and accommodating. Rooms are large, comfortably firm bed, great showers, great touches that reflect the history of the area and Kentucky/Ohio as a whole. The town itself is a hidden gem, tons of restaurants and history/historic architecture out the front door. I can't recommend it highly enough.
We were in Covington for a wedding and the rehearsal dinner was at Hotel Covington and it was lovely. We were greeted by Ron at the door and he helped us get in the building and parked smoothly. The front desk staff were all attentive and friendly (didn't get names, sorry). I appreciated the communication with the staff via chat and email. I had asked to be near my son/daughter-in-law to help with grandson, and we were across the hall! Any questions we had were quickly answered. Well done. The rehearsal dinner was fabulous - the brisket was especially delicious and even the green beans are cooked to perfection (that's hard to do on a buffet.) We had breakfast at in the restaurant on Saturday morning before heading to the Newport Aquarium with our grandson. It was just the right start to our day. Eggs were perfect - and we are picky about eggs. Our server was especially helpful, After the Aquarium, we enjoyed some quiet time in our King room (plenty of room) before heading to the wedding. Our room was clean, comfortable, and nicely appointed. We liked the open closet and the bed was comfy. Sunday (Mother's Day) we had breakfast in our room (we don't usually) and it was just as good as at the dining room. If we make another visit to the Covington area, we would definitely try to stay at Hotel Covington. …
The bar was fabulous , well staffed , well supplied bourbon selction. The old retail bldg. was impeccable. Future upscale rooms looked 1st. rate and should traffic to this trendy & easy to get around city. We just stopped by because we had read about their inventory / selection of bourbon....stayed half the day. A must stop
Stayed here overnight between youth baseball games in Dayton. Normally always stay downtown Cincy, but decided to stay in Covington. Needless to say, but this is where I'll be staying in the future. Staff was so kind. The ambiance, lighting, and music in the room was great. The outside terrace area and bar area was over the top. Fell in love with this place.
We stayed in the hotel 4/22/2022 - 4/24/2022 from out of state for weekend get-away bachelorette party. There are 4 women in this room (and 3 others in another room). We noticed that the toilet in room 428 was flushing very slow when we arrived on Friday. On Saturday morning the toilet wouldn’t flush at all. Called the front desk around 8:00 am and they sent the valet up to the room with a plunger. We answered the door and he handed the plunger over and said that maintenance doesn’t arrive until 9:30 and if WE can’t get the toilet fixed to call back and they would send up maintenance. We plunged it - still wouldn’t flush. We called again and maintenance came up around 9:00 am and he ran a snake in the toilet. He also mentioned that it wouldn’t flush LAST WEEK! Keep in mind, there are 4 women in the room. We had to get dressed and go downstairs to use the lobby bathroom (they didn’t offer another room). Our day was completely booked with activities and we didn’t return back to the hotel until 9 pm. The toilet wouldn’t flush. We went back to the lobby desk and told them but were told that maintenance was gone. And that they couldn’t offer a discount on the room because it was “pre-paid” but they gave us a $50 credit to use in the hotel restaurant. We left for another outing. When we returned at 1 am - we had to use the lobby bathroom - again. At 1 am, I went back to the front desk and complained. WE CANT POOP IN OUR ROOM! This is ridiculous. Sunday morning, went to LOBBY BATHROOM and stopped at the front desk. Brittany apologized for our “inconvenience” and offered to buy breakfast for our group and we could have late check-out (1:00 pm instead of noon). Yipee! Checking my bank account, they have not one, but two $200 holds on my credit card for incidentals (I talked to front desk about this and they were sorry about this too, and will take care of it. (BS!) When leaving we talked to another hotel employee and he said there is no way that they should be selling room 428 and that this bathroom has had issues for weeks!! This hotel clearly only cares about money and not their guests! We booked and paid for two rooms. They should have offered to move us to another room. If we wouldn’t have had planned activities for the entire weekend, we would have complained and insisted on moving. Our fault. We NEVER should have let them take advantage of us. It is ridiculous that 4 women had to trek to the lobby to use the bathroom,…
We absolutely love Hotel Covington! We live about 2 hours away and Hotel Covington has become our idea getaway! Whenever time allows, this go-to hotel has it all—Amazing staff, a truly delicious restaurant (not merely convenient) & ideally located! They have found the perfect balance of luxurious and accessible. My wife loves the amenities in the room and all of the special touches are just what you never knew you wanted! We will be back as often as we can! They always do a great job of making our stay extra special. I don’t know why you’d go anywhere else in the area!
