We enjoyed getting away to a cabin at General Butler State Resort. The cabin was clean and well-appointed, with all the necessities for cooking our own meals. Some of the furniture was a bit shabby, but that's kind of what I expect from a state park. We enjoyed the extra space

Many stairs to get to our room. Needs an update. Food was not good--except for the catfish. Took about 50 minutes for our breakfast to arrive and part of it had to be sent back. The staff however was very friendly, etc. Would have been good to be told about the mansion and

My son and I stayed here for one night in August, 2018. We had a late check in, which I had told them about ahead of time. When we arrived there was no one at the front desk. After waiting several minutes, a woman looked out from a room behind the desk, looked annoyed that we

Went camping last Saturday in September. Campground was full. Everyone was courteous which was nice. I work day the facility and grounds were average. This was a nice adequate place to camp. Well kept facility for the most part. I will plan to return in the future.

There is no admission to the State Park. I am not sure what the rental rate for canoes etc is at this time. When I was there it was in the dead of winter. They also have a small but challenging golf course, A miniature golf course is in addition provided and there is some good hiking available. Lastly, I think the restaurant is one of the better ones in the State Park system. You can get online and either find the answer to your question or get a phone number for the park. I liked the place.

"The ones in the main building are probably better than the two additional buildings behind the lodge."
"Don't stay here!"
"Especially for more than two people, a cottage is a better pick than a lodge room"
"I would get a room closest to the woods and away from the parking lot."
"There are no elevators. So if you have a lot of luggage you may want to specify a ground floor unit."
