We absolutely loved staying here. The staff was excellent and friendly and attentive. There was a shuttle that picked us up practically at the door & took us to the ballpark for $1. The breakfast was all you could ask for! When we come back to the area, we will definitely stay here again! P. S. - Rooms were clean and roomy!
Much cheaper to stay on the Kentucky side and walk or drive over to Cincinnati. Plus plenty of restaurants within walking distance of the hotel. And New Riff Distilling! Very surprised/pleased at how large the rooms were for the price. Also Holiday Inn has upped their breakfast in the mornings. I would stay again if in Cincinnati or the general area.
The hotel is convenient, located 45 minutes from the Ark Experience and right near Cincinnati. The rooms were fairly expensive for the quality I felt. The indoor swimming pool was more of an afterthought. It was bitter cold! Breakfast was ok. I would probably look for another option on my next trip to Cincinnati.
Arrived after 5 after a long drive from Macon. Check in was easy and I dropped off luggage before walking over the bridge to Cincinnati. There are also restaurants in Newport within a decent walking distance. Everything was typical HIE. Restful stay.
Read some of the previous reviews were a bit leary but went ahead to book it. Close to restaurants and the Newport Aquarium. The rooms were big and Clean. The beds were very comfortable. The breakfast was the best! so many options
It’s a room and it was clean. The shower door was broken so there was water all over the bathroom floor. The employees are courteous. It was a busy weekend as there was a concert on Friday. But the hotel needs work and it’s clearly visible.
We had two rooms and the carpet in both was so filthy we had to wear our shoes or our feet turned black. Bathroom ceiling had a big hole with wires hanging out where the vent fan should have been. My toddler found Goldfish crackers and a valentine candy heart on the floor (we had neither, in fact it was August, so the valentine heart had been there since February??). Sliding shower door was very hard to open and close. Breakfast buffet wasn't kept filled and had to ask for several items: coffee, milk, syrup, pancake mix.
Hotel was not clean- room wasn’t clean when we arrived. Wasn’t cleaned the entire time we stayed. No fruit in breakfast area- eggs were inedible. I wiped down a table in the dinning area and my wipe was black. Doors slammed all night long. Please do not stay here.
We stay at Holiday Inns often. This one was the most run down I have stayed out. We arrived at 2:36pm. Guy working said “check in not till 3pm” …. I asked if they didn’t have any rooms available? My daughter danced and I needed to get her ready for her competition. He said well the manager is out there … pointed outside …. And said you can ask him but he will tell you no. At that time the manager walked in and remembered us from a few nights ago. Super nice, check us in with no issues. Go to room assigned and the room was not ready. Beds unmade etc. Go back downstairs and get a new room. Get to room and no towels, but easy fix. Breakfast in the morning, got there about 35 min before over and everything was cleaned up. No breakfast. Really disappointed experience. Manager at desk was great but that was it. We won’t return.…
I stayed at this hotel when I took my son to Cinncinatti Children's Hospital. Great location only took 10 minutes to get to the hospital. The staff was great, friendly and always helpful. I felt that they really cared about the hotel and the guest. I accidently left my son's wheelchair charger and they were keeping it safe until we returned. It was missing a cord and all the staff stopped what they were doing and found it. The staff cheered when it was found. I cannot say enough about this hotel and great staff. If you are going to stay in the Newport area this is the place. You will not be sorry!!!!
