Lovely stay in the Tregonning cottage for my teen and myself as part of the rail trail cycle experience. Warm and comfy. Pete is very accommodating, relaxed and helpful. Good sized rooms. We used the heater but there is a usable fire in the main lounge area if required. We enjoyed the home made bread.

We staid at Peter's Farm last year in december after having done a big part of the Otago rail trail and it was an amazing stay. First the location, a very peaceful place surounded by moutains; then we were welcome really warmly and the atmosphere was very cosy, the bedroom prepared with a lot of attention; finally Peter prepared the...

Peter created a nice welcoming atmosphere and was very flexible with pick up and drop off times. He had just finished the extra ensuite bathrooms so it was an added bonus we weren't expecting. Rooms were comfy and toasty warm.

A truly authentic historic building, built in 1882. Complete with low doorways, drafty doors, old kitchen ranges, the walls and ceiling styles. There is a really nice modern log burner which warms the house nicely. Plenty of other heaters in each bedroom. The facilities are all good. The decor is slightly modernised. Generally a comfortable place to stay. Bathroom is...

We were a group of 2 families (x9 total) who stayed at 'Tregonings Cottage' at Pete's Farm. This was the last night for us on the Rail Trail. The setting was very quiet and rustic. The cottage itself very authentic and comfortably accommodated our group. The beds in particular were great. Home baked bread for breakfast was a nice added...

If you want authentic, warm, comfortable, hospitable accomodation then look no further, beds are amazing!! Pete, the host, is the most down to earth person you will find, the BBQ that he puts on is amazing and the setting is perfect. If you want a place to unwind then I suggest you go here for a couple of days at...

We stayed here for 3 nights as a family group.Peter allowed 2 members of our group to park on the property and stay in their camper with a small charge only for use of showers and toilets plus breakfast. Peter hosts a BBQ in the evening for whomever wishes to partake and he serves large and delicious steaks with roast...

Fantastic place to stay on the rail trail. Beautiful historic country house, peaceful outdoor farm setting The $25 bbq is a must. BBQ undersells it - its a home cooked feast. The steaks were delicious and huge. Sublime potatoes, home made salad dressing and salads. Lovely desert Pete was a warm, generous and interesting host. Great communication before hand and...

We liked all the places on the rail trail, but Peter's farm, Tregonning Cottage was best! Beautiful old farm building, set on a stunning farm. Peter makes transport available from where you want to finish your ride (it's not right on the trail) and provides at a very reasonable cost a stunning BBQ dinner in the evening with other guests....

Spent one night at Peter's and wish we could have stayed longer. Peter is an excellent and friendly host and puts on a pretty good BBQ to boot. The accommodation is rustic but very comfortable with shared facilities with rooms either in the main house or nearby cabins. Scenery is idyllic and the only noise is from sheep in nearby...
