As we approached the Dune Camp I couldn't help but think what an idyllic setting it was in which to spend 3 nights! Our drive from Sossusvlei in our comfortable vehicle was something that had been recommended (about 2 1/2 - 3 hrs) with a stop on the way - to really absorb the desert scenery. Having spent time in...

Dear Guest Thank you for describing your stay at Wolwedans in such a detailed and positive manner. Your comments were certainly appreciated by our team of "Dune Camp Divas". As for accommodation, Dune Camp consists of 6 guest chalets and two guide/pilot facilities. From your description, it would seem that you were lodged in one of our guide tents. Although...

Our first impression of Dunes Camp was wow what a wonderful place and that impression didn't alter during our 3 night stay. The scenery has to be seen to be believed -- it changes with the light from dawn until dusk and as this is a Dark Sky reserve, the stars are amazing. The atmosphere was welcoming and relaxing and...

The oldest and (relatively) most basic of the Wolwedans lodges turned out to be the highlight at the end of an excellent trip. The tents are comfortable, the food and service generally are good. Our guide Teresius, was wonderful and looked after us really well - although large animals aren't the point, we saw 4 cheetahs just running along the...

Dear Guest Indeed, Dune Camp was the first property to be established within the Wolwedans Collection. Your knowledge of this fact and your enjoyment of the facility caused the team to be particularly pleased after reading your review. Thank you for taking the time to share your experiences with the TripAdvisor community. Kind regards Magdalena

We flew in over the Nambia desert, a sight in of itself. Upon arriving at Wolwedans, we realized this is truly something special! It's luxury at its finest. Your "tent" is a spacious luxurious room overlooking the mountains with a beautiful private deck out back. In fact, the rooms are spaced far enough apart that you have almost complete privacy....

This was by far the coolest and most amazing place we've stayed at - and we've stayed at a number of places. At first I was a bit sceptical about the whole concept of a luxury camp but one look at Dune Camp and I 'got' it.. You definitely won't be 'roughing' it - there is a bed to sleep...

If you want to lose – or perhaps find – yourself, this is the place to come. Soon after you take off from Windhoek, Namibia’s capital, in your Wilderness Air five-seater aircraft, you can forget about civilization. For 90 minutes, you fly over the sparse beauty of the Namib Desert: a vast land of shrubs and grass, with few trees....

We were picked up by our guides Jonathan and Abraham in open jeeps at Kulala Desert Lodge and taken on a two-and-a-half hour scenic drive to Wolwedans, located in the NamibRand Nature Reserve. The drive was very enjoyable for the beautiful scenery, rock formations and animals that we were able to see. Once at the Lodge, we were greeted as...

We have visited Wolwedans in October 2013. Our trip was (well) organized by NatureFriends Safaris and we have chosen "7 Day NamibRand Bonanza" with 2 nights in Wolwedans Dunes Camp and 2 nights in Wolwedans Boulders Camp. The first part in Dunes Camp was perfect, with very beautiful landscape, nice rooms, good food, and very nice and gentle people taking...

It is difficult to select one absolute highlight in a country where we had so many. We would highly recommend Namibia to anyone who loves to visit African countries. But if we had to pick one, it will have to be Wolwedans Dune Camp. The tents (formally it is a tent, but this word does not do justice to the...

This is our second visit to Wolwedans (we stayed at the Lounge and Boulder camp last year). Dune Camp is in a very private setting under a camel thorn tree since we have a party of six.
