We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Historic Park Inn. The staff was very friendly. The hotel was very interesting. It was such a treat to stay in a Frank Lloyd Wright designed hotel. The hotel was very clean, comfortable, and quiet. We had dinner and breakfast at the 1910 Grille and found the food delicious. While in Mason City we toured the...

Knowing that this is the last Frank Lloyd Wright hotel in the world is cool, but the hotel is really fun and interesting to explore. Walk around and see all the public spaces on each floor, the meeting rooms, and the outdoor decks. The rooms are gorgeous, historic down to the floors and light fixtures, but upgraded to include impressive...

This hotel was beautifully restored - 27 rooms and each one is different. Loved the lighting features, the heated floor in the bathroom, luxurious linens and towels, comfortable lounges tucked away on each floor and a very nice restaurant that was convenient and had good food. The location is downtown and the hotel is situated across from a beautiful park...

Mason City Iowa is worth a trip just to stay in this hotel. It is old and typical Frank Lloyd Wright, but with modern conveniences. The entire hotel is true to form for the era in which it was built, 1910. The room reflected the Prairie style, right down to the light fixtures. A walk through all aspects fo the...

I am originally from Mason City, Iowa. Did not know that the Historic Park Inn Hotel existed. Very unique hotel, our customer service was excellent! Not your usual hotel stay in the downtown area. Frank Lloyd Wright was a beautiful designer. We thank you for an awesome visit!!

We had anticipated staying here because of the historical significance of the property. Friends had also recommended it. The room was very nice and clean. The problem was the noise! We were on the third floor above the ballroom. There was an event in the ballroom the night we were there. It involved an auction and loud music that lasted...

Dear mimimiller1, We are very sorry that you experienced a noise issue during your stay and certainly that we offended you in any way. Please accept our apologies but know that we donated our ballroom the Friday night of your stay for a fundraiser with celebrity bartenders and an auction for juvenile diabetes, which ended promptly at 10:00pm. It was...

Frank Lloyd Wright designed this hotel long ago and it's recently been totally restored. It was very well done! We really enjoyed our stay and seeing his designs. Staff were great! Mixologist Seth in the 1910 bar made great drinks but he also kept us entertained sharing stories of his travels. Malisa (business manager?) was very willing to show us...

We went to this hotel because of it being designed by Frank Lloyd Wright, which was amazing! More impressive was the service and attention displayed by the staff. Most noteworthy were Seth in the 1910 bar and Malisa who gave us an impromptu tour. They made our stay even more enjoyable by going the extra mile. Thank you for a...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The Historic Park Inn Hotel, together with City National Bank, of Mason City Iowa were designed by American architect Frank Lloyd Wright as a dual purpose building and completed in 1910. The design greatly influenced architecture in Europe and is as striking today as it ever was. The Park Inn Hotel is the last Wright designed hotel in the world, and has undergone a nearly 20 million renovation; the restoration of the distinctive brick and terra-cotta façade as well as art glass windows has restored the Prairie School building to a functional hotel. The interior, while renovated into a contemporary hotel, has public areas and guest rooms restored as closely to Wright's design as possible. Art glass and much else designed by Wright remains. Public area furnishings are period-style and include reproduction Robie House Lights, reproductions of the Mercury statues Richard Bock and Wright designed for the bank, and reproductions of the barrel chairs Wright designed for the bank directors' room. We invite you to come and stay with us in the center of the many area attractions Mason City has to offer. ... more   less
