Based on my past reviews, you can see I almost always stay in name brand hotels. Since Kalona is a small community, hotel options are limited. I had heard good things about the Dutch Country Inn, so I tried it out. I am very glad I gave this place a chance. It is run by a family who is working...

Staff were very accommodating. Not sure why some negative ratings. My room was clean and everything was as expected.I have traveled all over this country and even in Europe for a motel in a small town it is rather nice. Even the bed is rather comfortable. And for those that watch TV there is a nice selection of channels. Would...

We had a very friendly reception when we arrived at this hotel. The hostess was awesome. When we arrived at the room she assigned to us, we found the bed totally stripped down and not made. We asked for a different room. It was just ok. I am one to like rooms that are VERY clean. There was dust and...

I'm not sure why other reviews have been negative unless those travelers were expecting a five-star posh hotel, which this isn't. It's just a small-town, simple, family-owned motel. The rooms were clean and comfortable. During the day, there is some traffic noise from the nearby intersection, but at night it was quiet enough to sleep well. Breakfast was also simple...

I found the room more spacious and cleaner than other small town motels. Check in was a breeze and because of events in the area we needed a 4th night which they provided after a cancellation. We had to move across the hall for the 4th night, but that was no big deal. Room prices were good, the WiFi was...

We have stayed at this inn three times previously when it was under other ownership and was called the Puller-Inn. It was a wonderful little motel in the quaint little Amish town of Kalona. We loved watching the Amish horse and buggies come by the motel. It was sold and bought out by an Amish family who renamed it Dutch...

Stay was good enough for what I was there for, but unfortunately we left my youngest daughter doll in the room. After traveling home [over 9 hours away), we realized this fact. My aunt, who lives in close by, went to this establishment to get the doll for my daughter. She was asked if it was a certain kind of...

Hi Loretta, We want to thank you for staying with us. I am sorry to hear that the doll was left behind. People often leave items behind and usually call us within a day or two and request to have them shipped back, and we usually have the item shipped out within the week. But sometimes things go unnoticed for...

In town for a family wedding. Not impressed with the front desk person. Never smiled or made eye contact. Never greeted the guests in the morning...just sat at the desk staring at his computer. Breakfast food was terrible. OJ was bad, milk was warm, muffins were stale. We arrived late on our arrival day and he was clearly angry that...

We were very satisfied with our stay at the Dutch County Inn. The front desk associate was extremely helpful and friendly. She took the time to show us on the map where all the various eating establishments were in town. She let us check the room before committing to staying and wanted to be sure it met our needs. The...

We enjoyed our stay at the Dutch Country Inn. We could tell that the current owners are working hard to raise the quality of the motel. Our room was very clean and the beds were comfortable. It does not carry the amenities of some of the larger motel chains but is more affordable than the larger motel chains. Also, it...
